DCRUST Sonepat Admission 2024: Eligibility and Selection

DCRUST Sonepat course admission is subject to fulfilment of the course-specific admission criteria. The university accepts several national and state-level entrance exams, such as CAT/ JEE Mains, etc. Students are required to participate in the counselling (if applicable) for seat allotment. Steps for DCRUST Sonepat Admission Process 2024

Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology conducts a multi-step process for admission to its offered programme. The admission procedure includes registration, the application process, the entrance test, counselling, etc. Interested students can follow the step-wise DCRUST Sonepat admission process:

Step 1: DCRUST Sonepat Application Process

Candidates must register on the official website of the university with all the credentials. Once registered, candidates can proceed with the online application process. Candidates must pay the application fee online which is activated after the application form is completed.

Step 2: Shortlisting

The application form will be scrutinised as per the course qualification and entrance exam scores. Shortlisted candidates will further proceed with the university-based entrance test. The test is conducted for various PG / Dual Degree Programmes of the university and will be held at the university campus.

Step 3: Merit List

The merit list will be prepared based on the results of the Entrance Test provided by the Controller of Examination to the chairpersons. COE will also provide the details of all the registered candidates.

Step 4: Counselling and Admission

The counselling and admission in a program will be held in the respective department as per the scheduled time. Candidates will be offered provisional admission in order of the rank of merit notified and displayed. If the candidate is not able to deposit the admission fee in the stipulated schedule then he/she will be considered "not interested" and accordingly such a candidate will not be considered for subsequent counselling. However, if candidates attend the counselling and admission process, they will be finalized for admission.

DCRUST Sonepat Application Process 2024

Candidates willing to apply to the SCRUST Sonpat's UG courses should have cleared Class 12 or equivalent exams from a recognised University with a minimum of 50% and for PG courses they should hold a Senior Secondary Certificate and a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University or College. The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 50% in the qualifying exam. Candidates willing to submit their application form can do so online. Candidates must note that the application fee can be paid in online mode only via State Bank Collect. The University will not accept any mode of payment.

College is good and I am happy here.

Placements: There are different companies coming there, like TCS, INFOSYS and Havells, visiting every year and giving great opportunities to students. The lowest packages are 3 lacs, the average package is 6 lacs, and the highest is 12 lacs. On campus and off campus, there are a lot of opportunities.

Infrastructure: Faculty members of our university are the topmost faculty members of Haryana and Sonipat and some of them are also book authors. The infrastructure of the university is very good and feels like an originally engineering old school university. Also, different sports grounds are there.

Faculty: Curriculum is like good there are 2 times sessional exams before the exam every semester and 2 times a year, exam are held. Yes curriculum is relevant; it makes students industry-ready. Not too many hard exams are there. There are easy semester exams; criteria for passing is 40%.

Other: There are different fests in our college, like RHYTHM, TECHNOVA, INTECH, etc. Every year for the entertainment of students. Also, there are different social groups for dancing, drama, singing, entrepreneurship, etc.

Insight of DCRUST (Mechanical Engineering department).

Placements: Most of the students who want placement get an offer from the campus itself. If they don't get an offer, then professors also help them by giving some references. Havells, Volvo, Eicher, etc. are the known recruiters for mechanical engineering students. Many other recruiters are there. The average package we get is 4-5 LPA.

Infrastructure: The internet is a problem in hostels. Errors in servers occur sometimes. Food and stay in the hostel is okay. Labs are good but some of the machines don't work, which needs to be fixed. Classrooms are equipped with ACs and smart boards. Professors sometimes bring PowerPoints to teach or may write down their notes on boards to teach.

Faculty: Numerical subjects are taught well and the theory subjects are given in the form of assignments and tests and the difficult things are taught. The course is relevant. Volvo Eicher had opened a lab in our university so that it would also give knowledge in the automobile sector.

You're decent enough if you're focused.

Placements: Out of 140, around 30 students were placed. The highest package offered was 8.25 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Veersa Technology, Fidelity International, and TCS. Out of 140, around 80 were on internships. Top roles were developed.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is improving, and many renovations are done in college. The Wi-Fi facility is there; the library is classy and quiet. Labs do not have proper functioning systems. Classrooms are being renovated, and some are still to be improvised. The hostel food is of moderate quality.

Faculty: Teachers help when you reach out to them. The professors are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum still needs improvement. Semester exams are easy to crack; not much difficulty will be faced. The course curriculum will not help you in your industry. You need to self-study that.

Other: The campus crowd is not very good because B.Sc. and BCA students are not well-behaved. Though if you are in some B.Tech course, it is decent. Campus is close to Dhabas; you will have a good hangout.

Our college has good infrastructure and better teaching quality.

Placements: Overall placement of the college is 70-80 percent in 2024. The placement of the Computer Science branch is 80-85 percent. The highest package of the Computer Science branch is 9 Lacs per annum, with more than 15 students placed. Chemical engineering has also good placement.

Infrastructure: Room quality is well-maintained, clean, and adequate. Availability of furniture includes Bed, study tables, chairs, and almirahs. Cleanliness of bathrooms, corridors, and the overall premises is good. The food quality is good and hygienic. Snacks and beverages are easily available at times.

Faculty: Semester exams are not difficult if we study according to previous year questions. Previous year questions helped too much. If we study side by side according to the class teacher, we can’t find any difficulties in semester exams. The way of teaching of faculty is very good.

Other: I chose Computer Science Engineering because I have interest in this branch.

The placements were good till the 2020 batch. Now the condition is getting worse.

Placements: Placement of my college is just average. Only a few students from the batch of one hundred forty students, which is less than 20 students, got placed. The on-campus placement from the last two years is just at its worst level. Not more than an ordinary post is offered to students.

Infrastructure: The hostel premises are in very bad condition. They are not well-maintained. The mess is on a tender basis, so it is in better condition than the hostel. Even though there are four hostels for boys, the Wi-Fi is not provided at all. Even your own network will not work properly. The only good thing about the infrastructure is the central library.

Faculty: Some of the professors are knowledgeable about their subjects, but only a few. The maximum number of professors are just doing their job with zero subject knowledge. Even in the first two years, the professors will not teach you. The Ph.D. scholars or the visiting faculty will teach.

Other: This was my parents' choice of this course. I got this college in my HSTES counseling. Only one major event takes place in one year, and that is not so good. I would even say it is just below average.

Review of DCRUST - Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology.

Placements: Total strength of a batch in a particular branch is up to 140, out of which only 20% are placed from on-campus placements. The highest package was once given by Amazon of 84 LPA off-campus. Average package goes around 2.5-6 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies are: Fidelity, Veersa, Chipset, TCS, etc.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available in the classrooms but has this facility in the Library and University computer centre. Internet facility is available in the hostel premises but the range is not that good and the speed also declines when the number of users increases.

Faculty: Absolutely, the teachers are well qualified as this is a government university, so they must have gone through a rigorous procedure. They only teach what will come in your minor and end sem and not about the insights of the industry. Semester exams are based on the previous year papers up to 80%.

Q: How to apply for BTech at DCRUST?

Step 1- Payment of Counselling Participation Fees: All candidates have to pay Rs 500 either in online mode through credit/debit card, net banking, or in offline mode through e-challan by visiting any branch of Punjab National Bank/Axis Bank. After fee payment, the system will allot a “Roll No.” to every candidate which can be used throughout the counselling and admission process.

Step 2- Counselling Registration: Students will have to register themselves after payment of counselling fees. For this, they will have to enter their basic details along with JEE Main roll number. Candidates will receive a user ID and password in their registered email ID for all future login.

Step 3- Filling and Locking of Choices: Candidates will have to log in using their user ID and password to fill choices of colleges. Candidates must note that they have to make fresh choice filling for every round of counselling after the announcement of the seat allotment result.

Step 4- Seat Allotment: The Haryana BTech counselling and seat allotment authority will release the result of seat allotment. Candidate has to login using their user ID and password to check their seat allotment result. If the candidate is allotted a seat, they will see the link to the provisional seat allotment letter.
