On Admissions

Q:   Does Gargi College accept CUET score?

A:

Gargi College, affiliated with Delhi University, offers a diverse array of undergraduate programs spanning Science, Humanities, and Commerce. The ongoing admission process for these UG courses entails participation in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), a standardized examination facilitated by Delhi University. Additionally, prospective students must complete the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) application form, specifying their preferences for both course and college.

Eligibility criteria for CUET, along with the required subjects, differ depending on the chosen course. Comprehensive details regarding course-specific eligibility criteria and subject prerequisites can be accessed on the official platform. Typically, a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the 12th board examination is necessary for eligibility, though certain courses may mandate higher marks in specific subjects.

The cutoff marks for Gargi College admissions are shaped by factors such as seat availability, the number of applicants, and the level of difficulty in CUET. While previous year cutoffs provide useful reference points, it's crucial to acknowledge that current year cutoffs might diverge.

In essence, securing admission to Gargi College involves clearing the CUET exam and meeting the specific cutoff marks for the desired course. Achieving a 70% score in the class 12th examination alone may not secure admission, emphasizing the importance of a robust performance in CUET, especially for courses with more competitive cutoffs. Wishing you the best of luck in your admission journey!

Second year student, gargi college South campus.
Placements: Our college has a good placement record, with 60-65% of students being placed. The highest package last year was 23.5 LPA, the median was 4.25 LPA, and the average was 5.5 LPA. Top recruiters include BCG, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Tata Motors, and Bank of America. In my course, students get an internship at least once during their college career, with good companies, average companies, or startups, and even NGOs. The roles that are offered include taxation, sales, marketing, product manager, and others.
Infrastructure: The college provided beverages, which I would say is a nice touch. However, the infrastructure is lacking. There is very little space available, and there are no hostels. On the plus side, the labs are good, and there are working laptops and monitors available with Wi-Fi. The libraries are also good.
Faculty: The faculty is one of the best things about this college. They are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and they communicate well with the students. The course curriculum is very relevant to the commerce market, and it makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are not too difficult, although some individual papers can be challenging. The passing percentage is 60%.

Gargi - The best place to explore.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in B.Com courses. The highest package was 35 LPA and the lowest was 3.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies of my course are the big 4, i.e., EY, PWC, KPMG, and Deloitte. The top roles offered for the students of B.Com are financial analyst, advisory, auditor, and consultant.
Infrastructure: The college does not provide hostel facilities. Outstation students have to live at private accommodations such as PGs and flats near the college, which are easily available. The college canteen food is awesome. There is a separate Nescafe at the college premises which offers good quality food.
Faculty: The faculty here is just great. The professors are very experienced in their field and teach with maximum effort so that students do not face any issues. Proper classes are conducted by them on a daily basis. The professors are very punctual about the timing, and no proxy is allowed.
Other: Anyone who has an interest in finance or corporate terms can opt for this course. This college consists of many clubs. Reverie is our annual fest. Zistatva is the Diwali fest. Navotsav is the Navratri festival.

The teachers are very helpful and supportive. The exams difficulty is moderate.
Placements: The college placements are very good for my course. The average package is around INR 5 lakh. The college offers good, decent, or average placements. The placement rate is good. A lot of companies come for hiring. Some of them are Deloitte, Wipro, EY, GDS, KPMG India, Evalueserve, and S&P.
Infrastructure: The college has really good infrastructure. However, the office staff can be improved. There is no hostel at the college. The security is average. The food is fine and there are a variety of options for the food. The medical staff could be improved .
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and supportive. The teachers are knowledgeable. The teaching qualities are good too. The exams are moderately average. The passing percentage is 40% in the practical and 40% in the written exam .

The college is good, but does not deserve the hype.
Placements: Placement is good in our college; we have a particular WhatsApp group for internships and placements, and every day new internship options come. We have a dedicated placement cell in our college; the highest package of my college is 25 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Gargi College is also good and okay; the college is situated in Green Park, South Delhi, which is a posh area, although the college campus is not too big, but it has all the necessary things on the campus, for example, an SBI bank, a printing shop, 2 canteens, an auditorium, 1 playground, 1 garden, and 3 buildings.
Faculty: Faculty members of this college are too good; as it's a south campus college, the teachers and staff are supportive and helpful. Some of them are rude, while some are cool, so this basically depends on your course. For example, the faculty of arts and psychology is very good, while the science department is not too good.
Other: The crowd of this college is very girl, as it's a girls' college. It's like there's a fashion show in our college every day; you could even have an inferiority complex like me, but except this, it depends on your luck which kind of friend group you will get.

Amazing faculty and yummy canteen food.
Placements: Placements in terms of internships during the course were good; we were offered wonderful projects and companies to work on. Companies such as Koozies and Minki were offered. 10% of students were doing internships from our batch. But after the course there were no placements.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, Gargi comes in on top; from classrooms to labs to the library, everything was too good according to Delhi University. Washrooms were pretty clean and hygienic with pad dispensers everywhere. Food available in the canteen is too good and prepared in hygienic conditions. It tastes fresh and yummy.
Faculty: Faculty were highly helpful, knowledgeable, and gave quality learning. They tend to be on time; hardly have I seen classes being cancelled. The curriculum provided was relevant and resonates with the industry needs and standards. The semester was not that difficult; you need to get 45% to get passed.

Pehle istemaal kare, phir vishwas kare.
Placements: No recruiting companies for my course, students applied for off campus internship, no career guidance as such. I don't really know what to say, nothing is there in terms of placement. At gargi, they prepare you for real world problems like dealing with people and politics .
Infrastructure: Library was miniature compared to the college strength. Most of the times we SAT on floors Canteen was the best thing about Gargi! Good food at reasonable rates! However they can expand their menu. I loved Nescafe with all my soul! Had the best hangout there!
Faculty: Mostly teachers were helpful, there are exceptions particularly the one who taught us Neuroscience. Semester exams were hectic! But we managed it! DU taught me smart work. The course curriculum was good, detailed and informative however it did not make us industry ready. I feel they could improve their lab facilities and lay more emphasis on practical knowledge instead of rot learning.
