DU JAT 2022 (Scrapped): DU Admissions Based on NTA CUET

DU JAT or Delhi University Joint Admission Test was a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to BMS, BBA (Financial Investment Analysis) and BA (Hons) in Business Economics programmes. However, starting 2022-23 admission session, Delhi University has scrapped the DU JAT exam and has adopted CUET for admission to all UG courses. DU JAT aided the admission process of 16 colleges affiliated with Delhi University. National Testing Agency conducted DU JAT exam in an online mode. With the acceptance of CUET, DU JAT question papers can still help in preparing for the General Test of CUET exam. DU JAT exam has four sections, namely Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General English and Business and General Awareness. All the questions in DU JAT were objective type, to be answered within two hours.

Since the DU JAT 2022 exam has been scrapped, Delhi University admission is based on CUET. The application form for CUET 2022 is available in an online mode. Candidates can register and appear for the CUET exam. Instead of DU JAT application form, candidates have to fill the CUET application form. DU JAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

With the change in the selection criteria, the eligibility criteria for admission to BMS, BBE and BBA (FIA) courses have changed slightly. With the scrapping of the DU JAT exam, the minimum qualifying score has also been scrapped. Now, the candidates only need to pass Class 12 for admission to the DU JAT courses. Other eligibility conditions remain the same.

Applicants seeking admission under the Foreign Students’ category to apply separately on Foreign Students’ Registry website, http://fsr.du.ac.in.

DU JAT is not being conducted, candidates must refer the CUET exam centres for admission to the courses that were offered based on DU JAT.

DU JAT syllabus 2022 was divided into four sections—Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General English, Business and General Awareness. Delhi University outlined the DU JAT syllabus, as mentioned below:

With the scrapping of the exam, the DU JAT syllabus still has some relevance. CUET exam has three sections with the third section for General Test. The General Test of the CUET exam will have questions from three core sections as per the syllabus of the DU JAT exam.

The official website of NTA hosts mock tests for all exams conducted by NTA. Candidates, irrespective of their registration status, can take the DU JAT mock test. One needs to register on the NTA portal to take the DU JAT mock test. The mock test portal has previous years question papers embedded for candidates to practise on the actual user interface. After registration, candidates can select the exam name and the question paper year from the drop-down menu and take the DU JAT 2022 mock test.

Candidates completing the DU JAT registration before the last date were issued the DU JAT 2022 admit card. The admit card of DU JAT 2022 exam was available in an online mode. Candidates had to enter their registration number and date of birth to download the admit card. All the applicants appearing for DU JAT 2022 need to carry a hard copy of the admit card. Candidates face denial in the entry on failure to carry the DU JAT admit card to the examination centre.

With the change in the selection criteria, CUET admit card, downloadable at the official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in, will help candidates take the exam. 

NTA releases the DU JAT question paper soon after the exam is conducted. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can use the DU JAT question paper and answer key to evaluate their performances. Candidates who will be appearing for DU JAT in the subsequent year can use the previous year's question paper during their preparation phase. The DU JAT question papers are released in PDF format over the candidate login portal. Along with the question paper, test takers are also able to access the response sheet.

Since the General Test of CUET exam has several common sections, candidates can practise the DU JAT question paper to prepare for the General Test of CUET exam.

DU JAT is not being conducted for DU admission anymore. Candidates need to take the CUET exam. Therefore, the CUET result will aid the admission process of BMS, BBA (FIA), and BBE courses. The CUET score will help the candidates participate in the centralised counselling process for admissions. Earlier, candidates got admission based on the collective performance of Class 12 and DU JAT scores.

The counselling process for admission to Delhi University is expected to be conducted in multiple rounds. The counselling process is expected to change due to change in the selection criteria.

• Class 12 mark sheet
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS/CW/KM certificate (if applicable)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate (if applicable)
• Income Certificate (if applicable)
• EWS certificate issued by the competent authority

Confirmation of admission: Candidates who are approved for admission will receive a link on their Dashboard on the UG Admissions portal through which they need to submit the college/course fees. Candidates are required to pay the fees within 24 hours of the approval of admission and save the acknowledgement slip. This fee can only be paid online through the portal.
