Q:   How many marks are necessary for B.Tech at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology?

A:

Your score and rank in JEE Mains will determine the chances of you getting into the college. Also, only your rank in JEE Mains is going to decide the branch you will be alloted. There are total 9 engeneering branches in the university out of which 1 is headed by College Of Basic Sciences and Humanities (Biotechnology Engg)while the rest are under the College of Technology.

For branches like Computer and Information Technology, you really need to score good. Especially for general category students the closing rank is about under 40-50k. And for branches like electrical and electronics and communication engineering your rank must be around 90k. And for the rest branches like mechanical, industrial and production Engg, agricultural and civil engineering lower ranks under 3 Lacs may be considered.

Hope this helps.

Q:   Is it worth pursuing BVSC at GBPUAT?

A:
{Source: BVSC students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Pros:

* Good teaching quality (some teachers are exceptional)
* Availability of dairy farms, poultry farms, and pig farms for hands-on experience
* Best campus, peaceful, and conducive to learning
* Scholarship opportunities for top-performing students
* Extracurricular activities, including webinars, sports, and cultural events
* Helpful faculty members and support services
* Good infrastructure, including hostels, laboratories, and library
* Opportunities for international exposure and scholarships

Cons:

* Limited job placements (around 15 students out of 40 get placements)
* Lower salary packages (Rs 25-30,000 per month) and limited scope for growth
* Infrastructure issues, such as outdated equipment and lack of maintenance
* Quality of food and hostel facilities could be improved
* Course curriculum can be overwhelming, leading to stress and burnout

Conclusion:
While GBPUAT offers a good academic environment, internship opportunities, and exposure to global practices, the job market outcomes might be limited. Students pursuing BVSC at GBPUAT must weigh the pros and cons carefully before making an informed decision. With improvements in infrastructure, teaching quality, and job placements, this institution has the potential to become a top choice for aspiring veterinarians.

So, I am satisfied by my college because of the opportunity which was provided by the college.
Placements: Almost more than half of the students of final year had been placed in my course and some are going for their further studies. The highest package - 6.7 Lacs, the lowest - 3.0 Lacs, and the average - 4-5 Lacs. ACC Limited, Tata Power, Ashok Leyland, Infosys, Wipro, etc. are the recruiting companies. Almost all the students have to do internship for 3 times during their fourthe year B.Tech course in Production Branch in any mechanical-based company. Company manager, HR manager, mechanical worker, etc. roles are offered.
Infrastructure: A seperate department had been made for production engineering in which students can study theirs from 2nd year engineering. Wi-Fi facilities is not good in the college because no Wi-Fi has been given to students in the hostel. Labs are of average quality because no improvement or new equipment has been placed for years. Library facilities are quite good and top class in the college. Hostel quality is also of average quality, the quality of food is better than average. Medical facilities are also good as it is free of cost to students. Sports facilities are also quite good for physical and sports-active students.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, qualified and knowledgeable but not all, I think more than half. Teaching quality is low, I think because some teachers don't teach well yet they know well and some teachers are too old that their voice didn't come. We get many opportunities to get ready for the industries. And also, the curriculum which is set for the course is relevant for the students. Semester exams are tough I think because exam paper have been made externally. The passing percentage for students is more than 50%.
Other: I chose this course because it teaches us mechanical department education as well as some management skills. This course is best for students who want to do MBA after B.Tech. Some technical field education is also provided in our course. There are many events in our college. Almost every week, there is an event to participate. Campus surrounding is so beautiful because of the greenery on the college campus. There is a good scholarship scheme provided to OBC, SC/ST students through NSP.

Professors have more than 15 years of experience.
Placements: About 60 to 70 percent students get the placement with the average package of 4 Lacs per annum. We had google recruiting campus drive last year. Most of students got placed in Tata company. Last year a total of 80 percent students got placed in most of the companies before February cause of the COVID 19 only 70 percent got placed.
Infrastructure: We have 4 hostels for 4 year B.Tech course with seperate cafeteria for each hostel. Each one of them has its own sports ground for different games. Our hostel's mess has good food and various dishes are prepared on different ocassions.
Faculty: We have two buildings for B.Tech i.e. NCT, PCT where we get most of the faculty having experience of more than 15 years in teaching with good course knowledge. We get course divided according to yearly basis. The faculty is also concerned about weak students and give extra efforts for them.
Other: We are surrounded by too much greenery having 7 other colleges and students from most of the states of India as well as europian countries.

Green land, red college, how I wasted my 4 years of undergraduation, and losen up almost everything.
Placements: The placements were as usual. The highest package was around 7.5 Lacs by Hero Honda and took a total of 5 students from mechanical, IPE, and agriculture engineering. In each of the branch, around 25 students were placed except Agriculture Engineering where around 40 students got placed. TCS took the highest number of students which was around 80 students. Escorts Tractor Co. offered a package of 6.5 Lacs and took 6 students from Electrical, Mechanical, and Agriculture Engineering.
Infrastructure: In terms of area, GBPUAT is the largest university in India. We have a stadium which has almost every sports facility like Running Track, Football, Cricket, Tennis, Basketball, Squash, Yoga room, etc. There are separate labs for each subject and many machines are present, although old. There is a cyber centre especially devoted for using net also LAN services are available in the hostels, with each wing having two routers.
Faculty: The faculty is one of the worst asset of this college. Marks are totally based on students' reputation in front of the teachers. Seldom, the teachers give marks based on student's ability. However, there is industrial visit organized for few branch but when it comes to teachers or curriculum, overall performance is absolute zero.

My experience in the college is good.
Placements: Placement rate is up to 10%. The highest salary offered was around 6 LPA. The lowest salary offered was around 3 LPA. Companies like TCS, Mahindra, etc., visited our college. The internship programme was not available at that time. There was a placement cell, and it was useful to provide us with information about companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi access is good in dormitories, and there is CCF from where we can get internet access, and it is good. Labs are good but not the best. There is a hospital. Hostel rooms are good. Food provided is sometimes good, but sometimes it is bad. Overall, the infrastructure of the college is nice.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality of some teachers is very good, but few of them have to improve their teaching quality. Blackboard is used mostly. We went to a company as a part of the industrial visit. The curriculum can be improved; unnecessary courses are added in the curriculum.

I am satisfied with the college and its infrastructure and faculties but not with the placements.
Placements: The placement was not so good of our branch. Just around 15 % of students from our batch are placed. Maximum 4.8 Lacs per annum package was there and minimum was around 2.5 Lacs. During our B.Tech period companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Bajaj, century pulp and paper etc. And NGOs like pradaan came. The post offered was of GET (graduate engineer trainee). Yes there is a placement cell in our college. It is efficient because they provide every details regarding the companies and their package during placement period.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. Wi-Fi facilities is good. Free computing facility for the whole University. Labs and classroom are not that well maintained as they should be. Food quality is average in canteen but good in hostel. Hostel rooms are quite simple but basic facility is provided to each student. I didn't face any infrastructure related issues.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable but teaching quality of only few teachers is excellent. Some faculty members take study so for granted that they take attendance of students of 2 months in a single day and tells students to study themselves. These type of behaviour from faculty is not good for the students future.
Other: Proper stadium is there for sports related activities. Every year various fun fests programmes like accolades, colosseum happens and National level sports fest like spardha is organised every year. These recreational activities and events helps students to develop their extra curricular skills. Scholarship is available for SC/ST/OBCand even for general students too if they fulfill some specific criteria.
