Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Sc. programs at GNDU?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of the Placement Cell for B.Sc. Programs at GNDU

Based on the student reviews, here's an analysis of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Sc. programs at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU):

* Limited placement opportunities: One student mentioned that the course doesn't provide good placement opportunities compared to other courses like B.Tech and MBA.
* Lack of practical training: Another student expressed the desire for more practical knowledge alongside theoretical knowledge.
* No specialised facilities: Students in the B.Sc. programme noted that there weren't any specialised facilities or placements offered specifically for their program.

Overall, while the university may have a good infrastructure and faculty, the placement cell seems to have limited scope and opportunities for students pursuing B.Sc. programs.

Good to go for the near ones.
Placements: Our batch is still in the course, and our batch will be completed in 2025. However, after graduation, we have been offered placements, some of which require a bond for some years. The average CTC is around 4.5 LPA. However, it depends on the skills and qualifications too for the CTC.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department requires some amendments. However, the library is good. The food in the hostel is yuck. They need to make it better. There is a separate place for sports. But the hostel warden is extra strict for some blocks. Overall, the experience is good.
Faculty: Faculty is good. However, we have to put more effort. Some of the professors pay more attention to academics compared to extracurricular activities. They don't pay heed to the overall development of an individual. For academics, it's good to go.
Other: The fests that take place are department-wise. How the festival and other extra activities will go on completely depends on the HOD of the department.

Best college in Jalandhar for girls as it is not a Co-Ed college.
Placements: Many companies come to our college and select students and give them the best placements with the best salary packages but I never ever applied for any placements. Mostly, 40–50% of the students apply for the placements and get selected. The students will be selected on a merit basis and based on their performance.
Infrastructure: All the infrastructure of our college is not up to par, but if you look at the fee structure of a college, then at that price, the college's first structure is not bad. All the quality of the food is very good, the canteen is very neat and clean and there are many sports and game facilities. All though our classes are not air conditioned, all the labs and libraries are fully air conditioned.
Faculty: The teachers of our college are very qualified and knowledgeable and very cooperative with the students. They feel very comfortable with the teachers and the teachers taught each and everything very carefully and with clarity. Only their exams will happen on the semester system and only one exam in our semester is conducted by our university.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in IT sectors and there are many festivals and scholarship programs happening in our college. Neither college provides scholarship schools with students based on their previous class results; otherwise, scholarships should be given to the backward classes and the lower classes and for girls, a separate scholarship scheme started by our college.

Almost Satisfaction and the worst Experience of this college.
Placements: Honestly, not much placements are offered in this college, especially for our course B.Sc. In computer Science). Only about 2-3 courses will be there in our college which get placements continuously I. e B.Com BCA BBA etc. The placements are offered by less known companies and packages are also average or sometimes below average.
Infrastructure: If we talk about the infrastructure of our course, then I would say it is the worst. Emphasis is given only on theoretical studies. No one care about practical experience there. Scheduling of our all the lectures of the course is even worse. Now if we talk about the hostels of our college, then feels is higher with poor infrastructure.
Faculty: Only about 2% of the faculty of our college is helping towards the students otherwise rest of the faculty generally don't care about students. For the preparation of the upcoming exams, house tests ( MST - mid semester tests ) have been organised every semester, which is pretty good idea for the preparation of exams.
Other: Honesty I made a mistake by choosing this course in this college. The worst thing is the schedule and timings of our lectures of this course. It becomes very tough for the students who come to college from far away. They always miss their lectures just because of the poor schedule of the course.

It's an autonomous college with NAAC grade A.
Placements: Students after completing the 6th semester are eligible for placement. There are many companies that visit our college for campus placement such as Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Avon, etc. The average package offered last year was 3.5 LPA. Many companies visit the college for placement like TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Avon, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are fully air-conditioned, and many computer labs are available for students. Library facilities are also available, and a decent quantity of books are available for students. The mess food quality is very average, and three meals are provided.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are well-experienced and are mostly Masters and Ph.D. holders. Teachers are very supportive, and they also provide extra classes for those students who have any doubts related to studies. Semester exams' difficulty level is moderate.
Other: I was very interested in fashion designing, so I decided to take admission in B.Sc. fashion designing after completing my 12th.

Satisfied by faculty but bad placements.
Placements: I have not yet graduated, but the placement value of our college is zero. You can just get a degree but not a job from here. No recruiting companies come here for employees. 0% of students get internships from any course by any companies. I wish there were more placements so that students can get jobs right after graduation.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. The campus is large enough for the students. The labs are clean and properly equipped. There is a Physics lab, Chemistry lab, and a library, which is well-equipped. The canteen is okay. The food is okay but not great. The cleanliness of the college as well as the canteen is okay.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and intelligent. They are helpful also, and the teaching quality is nice. The exams in college are neither too easy nor very difficult. Students can pass the exams with good marks by studying the last 10 years' questions. The passing percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose B.Sc. because I wanted to study something in Science but I didn't like Biology. So I chose B.Sc. non-medical. I wish there were more events and extracurricular activities in the college. Also, there should be a high placement rate for students.

Some good things about college.
Placements: Till date, there are no placements provided in our college. If they provide placements in the future, I will consider it. Overall, I haven't had any experience with placements in our college. If they offer good opportunities, I will surely accept them.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi, and the condition of the labs is not very good. There is no A.C. in the labs, and the fans in the library are not working properly. There are not proper chairs in the library, and the classrooms are full of dust with no proper ventilation system. The washrooms are very unhygienic, and there are no proper sitting arrangements for students during free lectures.
Faculty: The faculty members are all good, especially in the physics department, but some other departments are rude. Most faculty members are doing their best according to their capabilities, but there are some teachers who lack good communication skills and teaching methods.
Other: There is no extra room for students to sit during free lectures, and the condition of the canteen is not good; the food is very unhygienic.
