JMI Entrance Exam Syllabus 2025: Download Subject/Section wise Syllabus PDF

The syllabus for Jamia Millia Islamia entrance exam is determined according to the subject and level of the course. The questions in the entrance test are usually asked from the syllabus till 12th for undergraduate courses and till graduation for postgraduate courses. Candidates must start preparing for the exam well in advance by knowing the prescribed syllabus for their course. The syllabus for each course is uploaded on the University website along with the issue of prospectus, which can be downloaded by the candidates. If there is any change in the syllabus, the same is also informed to the candidates through the website.

The syllabus of the JMI Entrance Exam varies according to the course. Candidates appearing for the entrance exam have to follow the steps given below in order to view the syllabus for their respective programmes -

The syllabus of Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam varies as per the level of course. For the undergraduate courses, the difficulty level of questions will be based on Class 12. Hence, it is not that difficult or students need not study anything additional apart from their school syllabus or Current Affairs. Similarly for postgraduate courses, the difficulty level of questions is based on graduation. As the difficulty level of the exam depends on the question types, it is generally tricky in nature, which makes the difference in the difficulty level. It is advised that students cover the entire syllabus in order to score good marks. As questions can be asked from any topics within the prescribed syllabus, covering the entire syllabus is the best option to score well. General Knowledge and English Language will be asked for each subject in JMI Entrance Exam. Since both these subjects are very broad and questions can be asked from anywhere, candidates must devote a lot of time to their preparation. If a candidate prepares or attempts the syllabus selectively, it will be difficult for him/her to score well in the exam or qualify for the next stage.

To take admission in BA (Hons) Psychology candidates can appear for JMI entrance exam. Like the syllabus of many other subjects, the syllabus of BA (Hons) Psychology also consists of four subjects: Language Skills, General Awareness, Reasoning and Social Awareness. Candidates can prepare for Jamia entrance exam from various books available in the market. This paper will be of total 100 marks and candidates will be given 90 minutes to answer. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer, so candidates should avoid selecting any option if they are not sure about the correct answer. However. no marks will be deducted for not answering the question.

Candidates willing to pursue Bachelor of Commerce B.Com or Bachelor of Business Administration BBA course from Jamia Millia Islamia will have to appear for JMI Entrance Exam. The exam duration is of 1 hour 30 minutes and only multiple choice questions (MCQs) are asked in the exam. The syllabus for JMI Entrance Exam for B.Com or BBA course consist of four topics- Language Skills, General Awareness Reasoning and Numerical Ability. Candidates must prepare for all the topics and practice the sample papers to score well in the examination as the admission will be given to only those who will meet the cut off.

The syllabus of the Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam for BA Hons History course revolves around the Current Affairs, Social Science, World History, Indian History, General Knowledge and General Sciences. The braoad division of the questions for the examination is given below: Indian History: 50% World History: 10% Current Affairs: 10% General Knowledge: 10% General Sciences: 10% Social Science: 10% (Other than History) 100 Multiple Choice Questions are asked from the topics mentioned above. The questions are based on the syllabi of Intermediate or Senior Secondary level.

The aim of the written test of JMI Entrance Exam for M.A. Mass Communication subject is to test the knowledge and aptitude of the candidate and to ascertain the fact that the applicant is suitable for the course. The question paper of Mass Communication subject is divided into two parts. Part A is based on multiple choice questions and Part B is based on descriptive questions. In Part A, questions related to national and international political issues/personalities, General Knowledge, Film, Television and other media and Art, Literature and culture are asked. Whereas, the descriptive paper comprises of essay type long answers which reflect the candidates' critical understanding of contemporary issues and the media. This paper also evaluates candidates' skill in visualization, story-telling and their creative aptitude. Candidates qualifying the written examination and shortlistted for interview will be required to send e-portfolios.

The syllabus of JMI Entrance Exam for admission in LLM course consist of various Law subjects such as Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Criminal Law, Family Law, Environmental Law, Corporate Law, Law of Contract, Law of Torts, International Law, Labour Law, Contemporary Legal Issues etc. The standard of questions will be based on LLB/BA LLB Hons course as per the Bar Council of India Rules. The paper is divided into three sections Part A, B and C. Multiple choice questions are asked in Part A and B, while Part C is based on descriptive questions. The questions asked in Part A are based on General Knowledge and English Language and in Part B questions are asked from legal subjects. The questions in descriptive part i.e. Part C will also be based on Law subjects.
