FTII JET is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually for candidates who wish to be admitted to postgraduate and post-graduate diploma courses. A Joint Entrance Test (JET) is conducted by the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata to shortlist candidates for admissions in the two institutes. There are two wings under FTII -

Candidates interested in taking admission in either of two institutes (FTII or SRFTI), have to fill out the FTII JET application form. Before that, they must ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions as put by the exam body. Steps to successfully register for FTII JET are provided below.
Step 1: Register for JET
Fill out the JET 2025 application form available on the official website (when applications open). Create a login ID and provide the required details. Once the details are filled in, candidates have to confirm their registration.
Step 2: Completion of the FTII JET application form
Candidates have to log in with their application number and date of birth to complete the second step of their registration. In this step, candidates have to provide their personal information, such as address, ID proof number, educational details, etc.
Step 3: Select the test centre
FTII JET is conducted in 28 cities across the country. At the time of registration, the candidates have to select two test cities as per their preference from the drop-down menu. After the last date of registration, candidates are allotted one of the two preferred cities. In the rare case that a candidate is not allotted any of the preferred cities, he/ she will be allotted a different nearby city.

Students who wish to study in FTII or SRFTI must meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the exam authorities. Aspirants must be above the age of 21 years. The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for application for all courses except 3 3-year PG Diploma in Art Direction & Production Design and 3-year UG Certificate course in Animation & Visual Effects Design is Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline.

Reservations
In each course, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 27% for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “Non-Creamy” layer (OBC-NCL), and 10% for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) as Gen-EWS. Further, 5% of total seats are reserved on a horizontal basis for Persons with benchmark Disabilities.

After joint merit lists, preferences will be obtained from the shortlisted candidates. They will be selected to a particular course in FTII & SRFTI. Counselling may be carried-out offline in Pune/Mumbai/ Kolkata or online.
Step 4: Undergo the medical test
Selected candidates will be required to undergo Medical Test as per the selection criteria of both institutes.
