Through the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET), candidates are offered courses in Diploma and certificate programmes in the Film and TV departments. The Film and Television Institute of India and the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute both offers the courses related to Film and TV for students who qualify in the examintion.

Candidates must understand that their performance in the 2024 session of the exam will only help them secure a seat in the 2024 session when the course commences and not in later years. The FTII JET scores will be valid till the session starts. Thereafter, no queries (online/offline) related to the issuance of JET scorecards will be entertained.

The minimum passing marks for the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test varies, however, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII are: i) 50% for General category. ii) 45% for OBC NCL category. iii) 40% for SC/ST category.

The FTII JET stands for the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Examination. It is conducted by the Film and Television of India, Pune which comes unfer the academic institut under Ministry of Information and Boradcasting, Government of India. Candidates who qualify in the exam will be eligible for PG Diploma Courses granted Master’s degree equivalence by AIU. PG Certificate Courses approved by AICTE.

No, FTII does not offer undergraduate degree courses. They only offer postgraduate Diploma and certificate courses under their film wing and television wing. However, they do have one Undergraduate Certificate course in Animation & Visual Effects Design.

According to FTII, Pune's website, there are several scholarships that the institute offers and several others that potential students can avail. The institute offers the following scholarships based on merit and performance credits during the students' time there. 

1. Entrance Exam Merit - Given to toppers in each of the film wing courses; INR 12,500 per year. 
2. 1st Semester Merit - Given to the first 3 toppers; Common Module (Editing, Sound Recording & Sound Design, Art Direction & Production Design and Screenplay Writing); 1st topper get INR 24,000, 2nd gets INR 21,500 and the 3rd gets INR 19,000 every year
3. Given to acting topper; INR 24,000 / year
4. Given to screenplay writing topper; INR 24,000 / year
5. 2nd to 5th Semester Merit - Given to the 1st and 2nd topper of each course; INR 13,500 and INR 11,500 respectively.

FTII JET is conducted offline (pen & paper based test). 

FTII JET is conducted annually or once a year in 28 cities across the country.

On clearing the Joint Entrance Test (JET), students can get admission into Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) as well as the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India (SRFTI). These two premiere institutes are the conducting body of FTII JET as well. Candidates who qualify in this exam will be eligibile to take up film making related courses in either of the two institutes.

You might already know that you have to carry your admit card to the FTII JET exam centre. You can take two copies just to be safe. Also, carry a government issued photo ID like your Aadhaar Card, PAN Card or Driver's License. And you can only take the test with a blue/ black ball point pen, so carry those.

No, candidates can't change the exam centre after finally submitting the FTII JET application form. The test centre cannot be changed once candidates have filled it as there is no application correction window provided by the exam conducting authority. Once the application form is submitted, the candidate cannot change the exam center at any stage. The change of examination center will be entirely at the discretion of the exam conducting authority and the candidates will be liable to follow the instructions.

The Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) admit card consists of details of the candidate such as their name, date of birth, roll number, exam centre details, exam timings and exam day guidlines. No, candidates must produce a printout of the FTII JET admit card along with a valid photo ID. Those who fail to do so will not be allowed to take the exam.

The Film and Television of Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) is conducted in offline i.e. pen and paper mode. The question and answer booklet will be distributed to the candidate at least 10 minutes before the commencement of exam. No, there is no such provision for re-evaluation provided by the exam conducting authority for the FTII JET result. As per the official notification, candidates seeking admission into FTII, Pune and SRFTI, Kolkata will have to go through the following process:

Step 1: JET Entrance Exam

The first step is the FTII JET exam for which candidates will have to appear in it after receiving their admit cards and qualify it. The written test will be conducted for 2 papers and the time duration will be of three hours. The test will be conducted in offline (pen and paper test) mode. The question paper will be into two parts – MCQ (multiple-choice questions) and Descriptive. 

Step 2: Audition (for screen Acting) Orientation and Interview

Candidates qualifying in the written test will be further shortlisted for Audition (only for Screen Acting), Orientation and Interview. 

Step 3: Result declaration

(For all other courses except Screen Acting) final joint merit list of FTII & SRFTI will be published. For screen acting, the performance of audition will also be analysed.

After joint merit lists, preferences will be obtained from the shortlisted candidates. They will be selected to a particular course in FTII & SRFTI. Counselling may be carried-out offline in Pune/Mumbai/ Kolkata or online.

Step 4: Undergo the medical test

Selected candidates will be required to undergo Medical Test as per the selection criteria of both institutes.

In the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) there are two papers - Paer 1 and 2. Yes, you can take FTII JET in Hindi. The questions that appear on FTII JET papers are presented in both Hindi and English. Examinees can pick either one. The institutes strictly asks the students not switch between the two while taking the test. Once you've answered a question in Hindi, you have to attempt all the questions in Hindi.
