Q: Can I get into JUIT Solan B.Tech with 70% in class 12th?

Admission to the B.Tech course in JUIT Solan is based on merit in the entrance examinations or merit in the qualifying examination. Entrance-based admission to B.Tech depends on the All India Rank of the candidates in JEE Main. Merit-based admission depends on the candidates’ performance in their qualifying examination. For merit-based admission, the university will conduct counseling in the month of July. Candidates shall be informed prior and they will be allowed a choice of a maximum of three programs. The minimum eligibility for B.Tech is 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects. Therefore, it is not clear whether a candidate with 70% in class 12th can get admission to JUIT Solan B.Tech program.

No, the selection criteria for full-time course is through JEE Main score. Candidates should have minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate in Class 12 or its equivalent examination. Jaypee University of Information Technology accepts online and offline application processes. For taking admission to the courses offered at JUIT Solan, candidates need to visit the official website of respective national-level entrance exam conducting bodies and fill out the application form online mode. Application forms for admission can be submitted online or offline.

For Online Application-

Step 1: Log on to www.jiit.ac.in and click on the apply online link of the related program or directly log on to www.getadmissions.com/jaypee (authorized agency for online applications).
Step 2: Follow the on-screen prompts to fill up the application form and make the payment through Credit card/Debit card/Net banking/UPI. The application fee is in the range of INR 1,200 to INR 500 as per course requirements.

Step 3: Once the payment has been successfully made, the candidate shall be allotted an Application ID, which must be preserved for future reference. The candidate shall also get an e-mail of confirmation.
Step 4: During the online application, candidates are required to upload a passport-size photograph of self and signatures of self and their parents.
Step 5: The candidate must keep a copy of the application form for future records.
