Q:   Is B Sc. at Himgiri Zee University better than Doon Business School?

A:

Regarding B.Sc. programme placements, Doon Business School (DBS) seems to have an advantage over Himgiri Zee University. Himgiri Zee University's the highest package, worth INR 10-12 LPA, is greatly inferior to DBS's the highest package, worth INR 24 LPA. Furthermore, DBS displays a better average package—INR 6.69 LPA—than Himgiri Zee University, which offers INR 3 LPA. Dissatisfied because of college life is not up to mark.
Placements: Academics are good, but do not expect much from college placements. Only 5–6 students from our course were placed last year, with an average package of INR 15–20k. They do not have ICAR accreditation, but they have all the facilities that are available at an ICAR-accredited university.
Infrastructure: Facilities like labs and libraries are good, and mess food is also up to par. Overall, the average sports facility is good for basketball and football, and their cricket ground is nothing but an empty field with long-grown grasses, so do not expect much.
Faculty: Almost all faculty members are Ph.D. holders, so the quality of education is good. All the faculty members are graduates from reputed universities. The curriculum is good, but it does not provide that much practical knowledge, and we have not been provided with many educational trips.
Other: They do not let you out of the college campus between college hours, i.e., 8:30 and 4:30. You cannot go out during these hours.

Overall, it is a good campus in Dehradun.
Placements: Students with good academics get placed. The maximum package offered is 10.5 LPA. The minimum package offered is 5.5 LPA. The top companies are ZEE Media, Wipro, Bajaj, etc.
Infrastructure: Free Wi-Fi is available in the university. Hygienic labs and classrooms are available. The university has a central library. Hostel facilities are above-average. The food is good, and the prices are very less compared to outside restaurants. Sports are conducted by the university, and they are excellent.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly-qualified and very friendly. They are very helpful. The course is curriculum relevant. It makes students industry-ready. 40% is the basic pass percentage. 95% is the high percentage.
Other: Agriculture is my dream. So I chose agriculture. Every week, events are conducted here.

Placement cell is average for agriculture students in our college.
Placements: Although it is mentioned on the university website that many companies visit the campus for agriculture students, no campus placements were provided for agriculture students yet. But placements in other departments like management and mass communication were decent.
Infrastructure: The hostel life was quite good in the college. Free Wi-Fi service was provided with good connectivity. Hostel food was also good including fruits, milk, tea, snacks, sweet dishes, etc. The medical facility was also decent. A doctor and a nurse were available on campus.
Faculty: Semester exams are not so difficult. You can pass them easily by studying moderately. The passing percentage was around 40%. Notes were made available by the concerned subject teachers from time to time and the qualification of the teachers was also good.

Not so good and best but not bad too at all and also it will improve and change in times to come.
Placements: Around 85 students were placed in agriculture department freshers when I joined the university. About the salary and recruiting etc. I don't know much about that being a fresher student. But I'm sure there were a lot of recruiting programme held for the outgoing students at that time.
Infrastructure: Well in terms of facilities the agriculture department provides a decent facility for the students. The classrooms are well-equipped with projector, whiteboard as well as a chalkboard. We have a Wi-Fi connection around the campus too. Library is also good with a lot of books for not only for agriculture students but also for all other students.
Faculty: The teaching staffs in the university are also good and well educated with a prominent professional degree. Some of the teachers even have a Ph.D. degree. They try their best to give us the best and better education and also encourage the students to do well not only in academic careers but also in life to be a good person. They try to give us the best knowledge with what they have learn in their life and to do us more better and be a good citizen of the country.
Other: The one of the reasons choosing this course was to be able to gain a good knowledge about the various agriculture life. Agriculture plays a vital role for the economic growth and development in our country and there is no better way to make it better to join an agriculture university and learn the knowledge on how to adopt a better way to make it better. There are a lot of events that the university organised from various departments and the students take a lot of participation in these events. Recently the agriculture department organised an event in the university as Agri Fare, where the farmer from in an around Dehradun were invited and gave them a stall and to cast and promote their products and to give some knowledge to the students. The campus have a very beautiful and clean surroundings which also make a good environment for the students for studies. Various kinds of co-curricular activities are held in the university for the students like sports events, freshers meet as well as the college feast.

It is the best college in Dehradun for agriculture course.
Placements: From the past few years companies related to seed certification, fertilizer, pesticides and dairy visit the college placements. Teachers play a significant role to provide the placements as their recommendations are essential. Recently Zee company visited and offered jobs and internships to various students.
Infrastructure: There are three blocks with an administration block, two hostels and a canteen in the college. There is a swimming pool in our college. There is an open gymnasium here, and there is 24/7 Wi-Fi available in our hostels and campus. There are separate air-conditioned hostels and non-air-conditioned hostels of both boys and girls. There is a good amount of area in the college which is used for practical work by agriculture students.
Faculty: Around 60-70 students are there in each batch, and there are above 15 teachers in the college. The college has conducted visits to Kisaan mela and flower exhibition programmes. Various seminars and competitions related to the course are conducted every semester. The students do fieldwork here under teachers guidance.
Other: Every year college conducts fest to which celebrities are invited. Festivals like Holi, Diwali, Lodhi, Chatt Pooja are celebrated in the college with complete rituals and ceremonies. There is a farewell event for graduated students.
