What is KU PGCET?

KU PGCET – Kakatiya University Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (KUPGCET) is conducted by the Kakatiya University, Warangal in order to offer students admission in Science, Commerce and Arts postgraduate and postgraduate diploma courses. Through KUPGCET, candidates are granted admission in the university and its affiliated colleges. KUPGCET is a state level entrance exam which is conducted in offline mode i.e. pen and paper test. However, before a candidate can apply online, the aspirant will have to meet the KUPGCET 2021 eligibility criteria as set by the university.

KU PGCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria as set by university in order to appear for the KUPGCET 2021 exam. The eligibility criteria for each course may vary from the others. Candidates can take a look at the basic KUPGCET 2021 eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate should be an Indian.
  • The candidate should belong from the state of Telangana and should satisfy the Local/Non-Local requirements as laid down in the Telangana State Education Institution.
  • Candidates should have completed their graduation from a recognised university.
  • Students belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 50% in their graduation. Whereas for the reserved category, candidates should have secured a minimum of 45%.

The KUPGCET 2021 eligibility criteria as set for MSc and its offered courses are as follows:

  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

PG Diploma in Sericulture

  • Candidate must have passed BSc (Zoology/ Botany/Chemistry) from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates with BSc (Agriculture) Degree recognised by Kakatiya University are also eligible

MSc (Chemistry)

  • Candidates must have cleared Degree examination with Chemistry from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Microbiology)

  • Candidates must have cleared Degree examination in Science from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Zoology)

  • Candidates must have cleared Degree examination with Zoology from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Economics)

  • The candidate must have cleared Graduation from a recognised University/ Institute
  • Candidates holding Bachelor degree in relevant stream can apply
  • Candidate must have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination

MSc (Physics)

  • Candidates must have cleared BSc with Physics from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Geology)

  • Candidate must have passed BSc examination with Geology or any Science subjects from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Bio-Chemistry)

  • Candidates must have cleared BSc with Science from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Mathematics / Statistics/ Applied Mathematics)

  • Candidates must have cleared BSc with Mathematics from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Bio-Technology)

  • Candidates must have cleared BSc with Botany/Zoology/Micro-Biology/Bio-Technology/Bio-Chemistry/Genetics/B.Pharmacy from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

MSc (Computer Science)

  • Candidates must have cleared BSc with relevant subject from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned subject
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the concerned subject

Msc (Psychology)

  • Candidates must have cleared any degree from a recognised institution
  • Candidates belonging to General category should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have secured pass marks

KU PGCET 2021 Admission Process

Step 1: Fill and submit KUPGCET 2021 Application Form

Candidates must ensure that they fill in the KUPGCET application form carefully. Applications that are incomplete, incorrectly filled or received after the deadline will be rejected by the authorities. The candidates are also advised to meet the eligibility criteria as set by the university.

To pay the registration fee, candidates can choose any of the following modes:

  • Any TS/AP Online centers or
  • Payment gateway (credit/Debit cards) / Net Banking 

Candidates willing to pay the application fee after the deadline can do so by paying a late fee of Rs 600.

Step 2: Obtain KUPGCET 2021 Admit Card

Candidates who have successfully filled and submitted the application form and have paid the application fee, can download the KUPGCET 2021 admit card once released on the official website of the university. The candidate will have to register online in order to avail the admit card.

Step 3: Appear for KUPGCET 2021

The KUPGCET 2021 will be conducted in offline mode i.e. pen and paper test. 100 questions will be asked and the total marks in 100, except for MPed which is 75 marks. The rest 25 marks is based on physical education department.  The syllabus will be in accordance to the last studied subjects. 

Step 4: Check KUPGCET 2021 Result

Candidates can expect the results to be declared within a month from the date of examination. The result will be uploaded online and test-takers can view their scorecards by visiting the University’s official website.

Step 5: Counselling

Once the results are declared, the counselling round will be conducted by the University where candidates are required to be present in person with all the required documents. The dates, schedule and documents required will be announced by the university.

KUPGCET 2021 Exam Centres

Candidates must note that the entrance test is conducted at Warangal & Karimnagar Centers only. No other centre will be allotted for KUPGCET. When filling the application form, the candidate needs to opt for the Test Centre by selecting either Warangal or Karimnagar. It must be noted that candidates are not allowed to select both the options – they can select only one of the two given options. 

In case, the number of candidates registered for the entrance test in Karimnagar for a particular subject is less than 100, the University reserves right to change the centre and conduct the test at Warangal only. 

Candidates who have applied to 5 years Integrated MSc do not have the option of selecting the exam centre. The exam will be conducted only in Warangal at the following address:

Candidates must make sure that they reach the exam centre at least an hour before the reporting time (mentioned on the admit card). Candidates who are new to the place should check the exam centre a day before the date of examination.

A. No. KUPGCET only caters to postgraduate and postgraduate diploma courses.
