Karanataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Science University - KVAFSU Admission 2025: Details & Updates

Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Science University (KVAFSU) offers degree and diploma courses to candidates at UG, PG, and PhD level. Courses offered are in the subject areas of Veterinary Sciences, Animal Sciences, Dairy Sciences, and Fisheries Sciences. It may be noted that the university also offers MBA in Food Business.  

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for UG & PG Courses

Candidates are eligible for admission in UG courses offered at the university if they have cleared Standard XII in relevant subjects with the minimum prescribed percentage. Candidates are eligible for PG courses if they have cleared graduation in relevant subject areas with the minimum prescribed percentage.

Note: Aspirants are advised to go through the eligibility criteria as mentioned by KVAFS University for the course in which they wish to secure admission.

Admission Process for UG & PG Courses

UG courses: KVAFSU admissions in BVSc&AH courses are done on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the common entrance test conducted by the Government of Karnataka. The official website informs, “50% of the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, & Biology in the common entrance test conducted by Government of Karnataka are taken for preparing the merit list as per “Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Regulations 2008” prescribed by Veterinary Council of India.”

KVAFSU admissions in B Tech (D Tech) & B F Sc courses are based on “percentage of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, & Biology in 2nd year Pre-University examination of Karnataka or its equivalent,” states the official website.

PG courses: Candidates seeking admission at KVAFSU in PG courses offered by it need to appear for a written test conducted by the university. Note that candidates applying for MBA course also need to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI) round after the written test is conducted.

After the written test merit lists are prepared for different courses and candidates are allotted seats in their respective courses through counselling.

Candidates can submit the application fee in the form of a demand draft (DD) issued in favour of Comptroller, KVAFSU, Bidar. However, it may be noted that for MBA course DD needs to be issued in favour of The Assistant Comptroller, Dairy Science College, KVAFSU, Hebbal, Bengaluru.

International Student Admissions

Nominees of ICAR and GOI, foreign nationals, NRIs, and NRI sponsored candidates can secure admission in PG courses offered at KVAFSU on the basis of merit. Such candidates are exempted from taking the written test, informs the official website.

Application Form for Foreign Students

Foreign candidates applying for PG courses can send their application forms along with their biodata to the university through ICAR or agencies/ consultants nominated by ICAR/ GOI, New Delhi or through their embassies.
