Q:   What is the selection process for B.V.Sc. & AH and what is the minimum 12th class percentage required?

A:

The selection process for B.V.Sc. & AH at Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) involves multiple stages, with a minimum 12th class percentage required depending on various factors. Academic merit may also be considered, with some seats requiring additional interview rounds. Eligible candidates participate in online counseling based on their NEET ranks and preferences.

Q:   What is the selection process for B.V.Sc. & AH and what is the minimum 12th class percentage required?

A:

Merit-based admission is usually used in the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & AH) selection process. As previously stated, applicants must have received at least a 50% grade from a recognised board in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in their 10+2 or equivalent exams. However, additional entrance exams or interviews might be required by certain institutions as part of their selection process. It is noteworthy that admission policies for the BVSc AH course may differ amongst universities or colleges. Prospective students should carefully review the admission requirements of the specific universities they plan to apply to.Although a minimum of 50% is generally required for 12th class enrollment, candidates with higher percentages are frequently given preference during the competitive admissions process.

It is a very good college for students.
Placements: Many seniors got placed in top companies. The average salary package offered was 6 LPA. Few students crack VAS exams, and offer their service as veterinary doctors in remote areas. Some of the seniors concentrate on civil service exams.
Infrastructure: Our campus has 200 acres. The clinical complex is available. It also provides a library, buffalo shed, and poultry farm. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. The library has many books for each veterinary subject. There is a separate competitive section that helps us to prepare for competitive exams.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-experienced and friendly. This course is for 4.5 years with one-year internships. Each year has 3 internal exams and one final exam with practicals. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I opted for this course because I love pet animals. This college is located in the delta region and most of the livestock animals visit our college for treatment. Our college celebrates freshers day for 1st-year students. Events like sports day, hostel day, and cultural events are conducted in our college.

No campus life as I imagined before joining. Too much rules and restriction but good scope.
Placements: 100% of students passed out from college and got a job. As veterinary has good scope, the highest salary after placement is 80000, and the lowest is 30000. Private clinics, government jobs after clearing entrance exams, the army, zoos, and so many others are offering jobs. Internship is provided from college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. There is no Wi-Fi facility for students. Labs, classrooms, and libraries are average. The hostel is built well. It lacks hygiene practices, and the food is also not good. There is no canteen. Medical facilities are also poor. Sports and games are good for boys only.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified. But lacks effective methods of teaching mostly. Only a few professors know how to teach. Yes, the curriculum is good and effective. There is no semester system; there are 3 internals and 1 board exam each year, which is quite difficult for students. Pass percentage is 98%.
Other: I chose this course as I love animals. The best thing about this course is you get to treat the animals, which is noble work. I think they should increase the stipend, as it is very low; especially for PG, it is only 4000. Every year 1 cultural event is organized. Campus is less crowded. The network is average here. Campus surrounded by a village. Scholarships are there for only Tamil Nadu students. No, as such, extracurricular activities are organized.

It has an excellent infrastructure and provides good lab facilities.
Placements: Almost 90% of students get placed in government or private jobs with satisfying salary packages. The most common jobs are veterinary assistant surgeons and jobs in Aavin, poultry industries, feed industries, pharmaceutical companies, etc. Many students are placed in union and state public service.
Infrastructure: It has well-equipped laboratories. It has five gallery-type lecture halls and a library with many books. There are separate grounds for cricket and football. There are facilities for volleyball, Kho-Kho, badminton, shuttle, and table tennis. Hostels available for boys and girls are congested. There are separate mess facilities. There is a teaching veterinary clinical complex to expose students to clinical cases.
Faculty: All faculty members are qualified professionals with Ph.D. and impart practical knowledge to students so that they can shine well. Exams are moderate and the pass percentage is more than 95. The curriculum followed is provided by Veterinary Council of India.

Faculty are really experienced.
Placements: There a lot of job offers for my seniors who are currently being placed. There are good connection of pharma and poultry companies with which conduct placements yearly. And always you can practice on own so there is no choice of being jobless. There is also chance of doing internship in foreign.
Infrastructure: There are AC classrooms and rooms are of good quality with of course only 1000 per year. There is student run mess, so mess is best with non veg nearly everyday. There is a large playground with volleyball football and basketball court. There is also indoor stadium and gym for students.
Faculty: Faculty are really experienced and are with good research background. They are always ready to help the students to solve doubts. They also provide the practical relevance and utility other than the book content. There are labs and farms to give practical exposure. There is nearly 100 percent pass percentage.
Other: This course really gives a great respect among the society. I could see people appreciating me for taking this course. There is also definite job for all those who study.

Good veterinary college in the heart of Chennai City.
Placements: As far as the veterinary sector is concerned, it is very rare to get companies for campus recruitment. But MVC and TANUVAS faculty try to get pharmaceutical, poultry, dairy, and animal welfare companies for campus recruitment every year. The veterinary sector has a wide variety of options for placement. The campus offers help for scholarships in both UG and PG levels. For freshers, the highest package was 50k.
Infrastructure: Madras Veterinary College, Chennai has one of Asia's biggest veterinary libraries. The campus has Wi-Fi, a canteen, and a cooperative store. Every department has a well-furnished laboratory and classroom. The campus was built in the 1800s, and the architecture from the colonial times is still well preserved. Madras Veterinary College Hostel is average. Rooms are small. Hostel food is Tamil cuisine. Food is fine. Hostel rent is reasonable. The hostel has a basketball court, badminton court, table tennis, gym, etc. The hostel offers UPSC training.
Faculty: All of the staff are well qualified, and the majority of the staff are approachable. Faculty regularly conduct conferences relevant to the industry and the veterinary sector. Exams in TANUVAS are quite hard compared to other veterinary universities, and they are quite strict with evaluation.
Other: Since the campus is situated in the heart of Chennai City, travel is very convenient. The railway station, metro, and bus stand are all easily accessible. Campus events for extracurricular activities are not common. The hostel has to be improved.
