Absolutely disappointed with my campus placement.
Placements: Actually, I expected a lot from Karunya about placement, but I really disappointed. There are a few companies that are big in package. Most of the companies are startup companies, and the package was too low (2-4 lakh). We were paying fees for 4 years and hostel fees around 12 lakhs. It is not worthy to pay fees for placement.
Infrastructure: While coming to the infrastructure available for our course, we have the big library. Actually, food was one of the major problems there. Me and my friends suffered a lot. Many times, we complained to the management, but they didn't even care. Every two weeks, we had feedback about food and meetings. We used to say what we were facing and what changes should be made, but they just nodded their heads. There was no change in food, and as usual, it went worse.
Faculty: Faculty members were really helpful to me. They encouraged me a lot and inspired me. They were qualified and knowledgeable, and their teaching skills were extremely excellent and superb. But some faculty members were not qualified, they didn’t even have knowledge. They just watched YouTube and Google, and copied from there. Semesters were really tough, but I overcame them with my faculty members' encouragement.
Other: My course was Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Data Science and Cyber Security. This course was the most lovable and interesting one. This course helped a lot to build my career. And coming to fests, campus crowd, scholarships, and activities, they were really fantastic. I really enjoyed every moment in my college.

A Balanced Life at Karunya.
Placements: 90% of students were placed in our course. The lowest package was 1-3 LPA, and the highest was 30+ LPA. Top recruiting companies: Biocon, Zifo. Top roles offered are research scientist, associate, and executive. 100% of students got internships (RGCB, NEFTEM, ICMR, ICAR).
Infrastructure: College Wi-Fi is accessible everywhere. It has great infrastructure, well-organized classrooms, and labs. The library is a calm place to learn well. Overall, the food is good compared to other places. Hostel facilities for girls, a gym, and basketball grounds are available. The ground can also be used for any other games.
Faculty: Faculty members are the main highlight in Karunya. Everyone is friendly; they are ready to teach, guide, and help students. They play a crucial role in shaping our path to success. Yes, the course curriculum is designed to be industry-relevant and aims to make students industry-ready. It combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring students gain hands-on experience through lab sessions, internships, and project work. If we find the subject tough, it will be tough; continuous learning is the major part here. The pass percentage is around 50%.
Other: I am interested in the research field. The best things are the ability to solve real-world problems and create a sustainable future through science and innovation. I want more core-related placements in this course. The big event is MINDKRAFT. The big festival is MEGAPLAY. Scholarships are based on merit and GATE/JEE.

B.Tech. in Biotechnology (Medical Biotechnology) - Batch of 2019

My experience for Karunya Institute.
Placements: Placements were good for IT and other technical courses whereas, for Biotech and Food Tech, it was not great as companies visiting was lower. Recruiting companies for core fields plays quite a role, and the options given to the students are also fewer.
Infrastructure: The hostel was good for stay but not for food. Options for North Indians were quite limited. The university infrastructure is much better as compared to other institutes. Karunya Biotech Department has good laboratories and equipment, which helps the students get hands-on experience in the particular subject.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and supportive. They have good knowledge and experience in the particular field of study. They are all well-versed and experienced in their respective fields. Semester exams are quite good and facilities do help in preparing for the exams. If one is well prepared, it is easier to get through the exams without any backlogs.

Strong research focus with great campus life but better industry exposure.
Placements: I was a part of the B.Tech biotech batch of 2020-2024 where 85% of my batch was placed and there are many top recruiters like Google and Accenture. The roles offered in my course include QA and QC roles, the highest is 10LPA and the lowest was around 4.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The biotech department was well-equipped with various labs with various instruments to perform different levels of experiments, and the department has its own personal library as well. The hostel was good, with well-maintained AC and various types of food available.
Faculty: The teachers at Karunya were generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, with most having a strong academic background. The teaching quality was decent, focusing both on theoretical knowledge and practical approaches. The curriculum covered essential topics and could be more aligned with industry demands.
Other: I pursued B.Tech Biotechnology drawn by its advanced lab facilities and focus on research, and the best parts were hands-on training and supportive faculty. The serene campus, diverse crowd, and extracurricular activities made my experience enriching.

M.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2025

This college provides a big platform to learn.
Placements: My college placement is very good. M.Sc. Biotechnology course, approximately 75%-85% placed of students in the last academic year. The highest offer was around INR 9.5 LPA, the lowest was around INR 4 LPA, and the average offer was around INR 5.5 LPA. Major employers include Biocon, Cipla, and Syngene. About 77% of students have taken up internships at notable institutions such as Biocon and Serum Institute. The primary roles were analyst, quality control analyst, and biologist.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well maintained with modern laboratories, dedicated Wi-Fi hotspots, and spacious classrooms. The library is stocked with the latest journals and reference books. The hotel has pleasant facilities, clean rooms, a hygienic mess, and a variety of food. Medical facilities are readily available on campus, and there are plenty of sports and play areas to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Faculty: All faculty members very nice and friendly. The M.Sc. Biotechnology department is highly competent, with most professors holding advanced degrees. Their teaching is engaging and industry-focused, making students well-prepared for real-world challenges. The curriculum is up-to-date, with a good balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, resulting in students being ready to work. The semester exams Hurd, but passing rate very nice 89%.

Karunya is know for it’s calm and wonderful environment.
Placements: The placements are great with various core companies coming in like biocon, biozyme, biozeen and Dr. Reddy's. They also offer very good packages and even other companies are willing to take in biotechnology students due to the wide spread curriculum that the department offers.
Infrastructure: The course is well organised to not make the students feel a burdened. The course is structured in such a way that the core subjects are gradually taught with precision and accuracy. The hostel also provides various types of lodging and the food is also great.
Faculty: The faculty is very good and helpful. They clear any doubts brought before them by the students. The curriculum is well revised and after every semester, the students‘ feedbacks are taken to improve both the faculty as well as the subjects. There are 3 internal exams and a major semester examination at the end of each semester.
Other: There is value for the amount of money that they ask to pay for the course as well as the hostel and mess food. There are various hostel programs in our hostel but very less programs are organized in the campus. Though the campus is very strict, it teaches us many things. Karunya cannot be compared to any other college.
