On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   Can I join Kerala Agricultural University directly?

A:

Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) has specific admission procedures for its programs. For undergraduate programs like B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology, admission is based on the ranks obtained in the common entrance examination (CEE) conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. Prospective students need to apply for the Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical courses (KEAM) through the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) and take the Engineering Entrance Examination. Therefore, direct admission to Kerala Agricultural University is not based on JEE scores, but rather on the state-conducted entrance examination.

It's important for aspiring students to familiarize themselves with the specific admission requirements and procedures for the programs offered at KAU. This includes understanding the eligibility criteria, application process, and important deadlines. Additionally, seeking guidance from academic advisors or university admissions offices can provide valuable insights into the application process and increase the chances of a successful application.

In conclusion, while direct admission to Kerala Agricultural University is not based on JEE scores, prospective students can gain admission by following the specific procedures outlined by the university and the state's entrance examination authorities.

Really good infrastructure and facilities with very well educated and friendly faculty members.
Placements: About 70% of our students have been placed in jobs. The lowest salary offered was 30,000, and the highest was 4-5 lakhs. The top recruiting companies are located in Australia. There are many opportunities offered by our course, and it is an emerging topic in this world.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-equipped with smart boards, blackboards, air conditioning, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The computer lab and library are well-equipped, and the hostel rooms are large and well-equipped. The food in the mess is only average, but there is a lot of encouragement for sports and arts, which supports our co-curricular activities.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very relevant to the emerging problems in our world. The teachers are very well educated and helpful, and provide sources for the syllabus and internship opportunities. Semester exams are not that difficult, but they make sure that relevant questions are included. A 50% score is required to pass.
Other: I chose this course because I didn't score high enough on the entrance exam to get into my preferred field, which is agriculture. However, this course is a relevant and interesting topic that made me choose it. I think this course should be given more importance in our country. Every festival in our country is celebrated in a sustainable and economical way. The college is not very crowded and has a very good environment with lots of plants. It also supports extracurricular activities such as arts and sports.

I am satisfied with our course.
Placements: Placements are not happening in our college. If they do, only 10–20% of students get benefits. If anyone gets a placement offer, they can only offer a salary package with a range of 2 LPA to 3 LPA. Top roles such as agri officer, agri manager, and soil tester. Our course has a career scope in agri-research stations, banking, professorships, and other fields.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure facilities of our college are developing. Wi-Fi is average. Our labs are good and smart classrooms are available. The library is the best part of this college. Hostel facilities are average. The food in the hostel is of the student's choice. Canteen food is of average quality.
Faculty: There is a shortage of faculty. Available teachers are very good and knowledgeable. There is a relevant curriculum modeled by ICAR. It makes students ready for industry. Semester exams are easy. The pass percentage for this course is 60% for the general category and reserved classes, it is about 50%.
Other: I have a keen interest in agriculture. The course is more practical-oriented. One suggestion for our course is to increase the availability of faculty members. Every year, the college conducts arts and sports fests.
