at MG University, Kottayam

MGU CAT exam centres are located in five cities across Kerala. The centres are at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur. Candidates can opt a maximum of three centres on a preferential basis. However, the decision of allotment will be made by the MG University.

MGU CAT exam has 80 MCQs with four choices for each question. Each correct answer carries one mark and there is negative score for incorrect answers. The entrance exam duration is 90 minutes. MGU CAT 2024 exam dates are announced in May 2024. The MG University announces the exam dates and registration schedule on its official website. Moreover, the application process generally commence in the first week of Feb 2024.

Both MGU and Calicut University are popular universities in Kerala. In the NIRF 2023 rankings, MG University leads Calicut on 31st spot and the latter has secured 70th position.  Hence, ranking-wise MGU is a better option. However, the course fee is more economical at the Calicut University. MGU MA fees range between INR 1,900 and INR 1.8 Lacs and at Calicut University, the MA fee range from INR 950 to INR 82,500. Candidates can consider their prorities (location, fees, and more) and make a choice.

Admission to this PG-level course is through a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). For selection, candidates have to take the MGU CAT exam, which is conducted in-house. Based on the candidates' score in the entrance examination, a selection list is released by the university. Candidates who make it to the list become eligible for participation in the counselling round. The seats are allotted after document verification during counselling.

MG University MA fee is cumulative of multiple fee components such as the tuition fee, hostel charges, enrolment fee, security deposit, and many more. The fee for MA courses varies for the courses on-campus and those offered by the affiliated colleges. Total tuition fee for this course range between INR 1,900 and INR 1.8 lakh.
