NLUO only admits students to its undergraduate law programs through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a national-level entrance exam. The CLAT is a highly competitive exam, and only a small percentage of candidates are admitted to NLUO each year.

NLUO considers CLAT scores along with other factors such as the candidate's academic performance, extracurricular activities, and personal statement in the admission process. The university releases its admission criteria and cut-off ranks each year on its official website.

As pe the CLAT Counselling schedule, CLAT Counselling 2024 is expected to be conducted in five rounds. Also, as per CLAT cutoff 2023, the counselling has been concluded after five rounds.
