It is a good college to build your career.
Placements: Placements are increasing every year. Around 10-15 students got placed in our college. Our college provides internships in the third year.
Infrastructure: Our college provides the best infrastructure and facilities. The hostel is air-conditioned and has a badminton court, a park, a combined mess, and common rooms. Our college has a sports ground for football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, lawn tennis, and running track. The library is divided into two sections. One is the reading room for which you will have to bring your gadgets and books, which is open till noon. You can borrow books from the other library, which is open till 8 PM. Our college provides many facilities like a mess, a separate auditorium, classrooms, seminar halls, conference rooms, etc.
Faculty: Our faculty members are well-qualified and highly knowledgeable. The course curriculum is designed in such a manner so that you can divert your time to other activities like research and publication, moots, debates, mediation, etc. All subjects are good.
Other: Many students are studying in our college from various parts of India, and unity in diversity is maintained very well. Our college surroundings are not well-developed as it is on the outskirts of Patiala.

It has the best infrastructure, and the placements in 2021 were good.
Placements: About 200 students are there in my course, shortlisted from CLAT UG. The highest package offered is about 12-15 LPA, the lowest package is 3 LPA, and the average package is 8 LPA. Khaitan & Co., and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas are the top recruiting companies for my course. About 5-6 students got internships in EBC and NHRC-like places every month.
Infrastructure: Our university has one of the best infrastructures among all the NLUs. Every hostel room has AC. The campus is 56 acres. There are 2 canteens on campus. A clinic is also available. Food is of good quality. There is a change of mess menu almost every month.
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable here. The course curriculum is professional, and it leads the student to get recruited by big companies. The passing percentage is 50%, and exams are moderate. The teachers here are mostly doctorates. Vast aspects of the law are covered in the curriculum, like criminology and public international law.
Other: This is a professional course, and I had a keen interest in law. More practicality and other different aspects of law could have been added to the course. Connectivity is not so bad.

RGNUL - A Place Where You Will Find Your Way
Placements: 30% of the batch gets placed. It’s not due to placement by the college, but 90% of the placed students secure pre-placement offers themselves. Packages start around 6 Lacs, with 10-12 Lacs being average, and tier 1 firms can offer up to 22 Lacs. Not many firms visit for placements. S&A and EY are major recruiters, offering around 8-10 Lacs. 90% of students get internships, but the college's contribution is minimal; students find these themselves. Top roles include associate at law firms, in-house legal counsel, junior advocates at chambers, and consultants at public policy forums.
Infrastructure: All facilities are provided, including Wi-Fi, computer labs, AC in classrooms, moot court hall, and seminar hall. In the hostel, there is double occupancy for the first three years and single rooms for the next two. Guest house and medical facilities are available. The campus includes a facility area with shops, laundry, a parlor, a fruit shop, an SBI bank branch, and India Post. The mess is better than at major colleges, though some issues persist occasionally. Water coolers and washrooms are common. Rooms are cleaned daily, with AC available. Sports and games are emphasized, and a ground is available for these activities.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful but not the best. Teaching quality is average overall. The curriculum is relevant but basic, with minimal burden, allowing time for other pursuits. Semester exams are relatively easy to pass with three repeat exam chances. Approximately 95% of the batch passes.
Other: It is a good place if you want to pursue a career in judiciary or other competitive exams. Access to various databases and journals is provided, along with good quality infrastructure. Academics need improvement, particularly with a more proactive internship and placement cell. Zelus is a major sports fest. The campus has a vibrant crowd with many events and parties. It is on the outskirts of Patiala, so connectivity to the city is a bit expensive, although Delhi is accessible by direct bus. There isn’t much to do around the campus except for occasional restaurants and bars. Scholarships are available for SC/ST category students and North Eastern students, as well as merit scholarships through third-party collaborations. Various competitions, conferences, and performances are conducted, including moots, ADRs, debates, and paper presentations.

Review of NLU Patiala (RGNUL) - Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law.
Placements: The placements offered by this college are not great as not many law firms seem to select the candidates. However, there is a good rate of students pursuing litigation and judiciary as their career options and flourishing in the same. This university offers B.A. L.B honors course, although various new courses in other fields are being debated upon to be added eventually.
Infrastructure: NLU Patiala offers the best infrastructure out of all the NLUs. The campus is well maintained including the hostels and other amenities such as a library, auditorium, academic block, etc. The best part about the infrastructure is 24X7 available. Wi-Fi and an air-conditioner in summer are also available. The hygiene and tidiness are well taken care of. The mess offers a diverse range of food.
Faculty: Teachers in this college are good. A few of the teachers seem to be not so fit for the position however the majority of the teaching staff is well qualified and well experienced. The teaching staff is very helpful and prioritizes the education of the students.
Other: A student would never feel short of the events that are organized, be it cultural or be it academic. Every student will find an event that shall suit students and nobody is left out. The seniors are helpful in this college.

The college had poor placements, excellent facilities, infrastructure, and average teaching quality.
Placements: Less than 10% of students who participated in on-campus placements received placement offers. The salary package from campus placement offered was 8.4 LPA. However, pre-placement offers from internships ranged from 6 LPA to 15 LPA. The top recruiter on campus was Singh and Associates. Top recruiters off-campus were Trilegal, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and JSA. Students got internships on a personal application basis in all major law firms and chambers in the country. Top role offered was associate at law firms.
Infrastructure: Excellent facilities and infrastructure were available in the academic block. The college had Wi-Fi, air-conditioners in classrooms, a reading room in the library, tech-equipped classrooms and halls, a cafeteria, and a canteen in the academic block. Water coolers and multiple washrooms were available on all the floors of the academic block and library. Excellent facilities and infrastructure in the hostels and campus were available. Air-conditioned rooms in hostels, multiple common washrooms, and water coolers were available on all the floors of hostels. The canteens in the hostels were open till midnight. The mess food was not the best but more than edible. Each hostel room was equipped with a balcony except on the ground floor, an air-conditioner, chair, desk, bed, and wardrobe. There was a facility area on campus with a health centre, unisex gym, SBI ATM and branch, fruit juice shop, unisex salon, India Post branch, grocery store, laundry, mobile/laptop accessories a repair shop. Facilities were available for sports. There was a football field which was also used as a cricket field, basketball court, tennis/badminton court, and volleyball court.
Faculty: The teaching quality was average overall and below par in a lot of important papers such as evidence law, property law, securities law, drafting, and pleading. The curriculum did not make students industry-ready since it was majorly theoretical. The semester exams were of medium difficulty level. The pass percentage was more than 90%.

RGNUL, Best Campus with Quality Education!
Placements: Around 60% of students are placed, and the average package is around 12-15 lakhs. As a tier 2 National Law University, almost all major firms come to campus for recruitment. You can join firms, corporate offices, pursue litigation, or prepare for competitive exams. The college provides opportunities for the same.
Infrastructure: The college has one of the best infrastructures in the National Law Universities. The campus area is around 50 acres with all the facilities inside the campus only. We have shops, a library (one of the largest single-subject libraries in Asia), a health center, and the best sports facilities available in any National Law University.
Faculty: Faculty members are very qualified and knowledgeable; almost every faculty has completed their doctorate or is currently pursuing it through the university's Ph.D. program. The teaching quality is excellent, and the curriculum is very relevant. I am pursuing a 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. program, and the B.A. course is completed in the first year only. The next four years focus solely on law.
Other: National Law Universities are like IITs for law; the selection process is tough, and therefore, its degree is very valuable for law.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for BA LLB (Hons) at The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law?

A:

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) has the following qualifying requirements for the BA LLB (Hons) programme:

The qualifying test (10+2 or equivalent) must have been passed by the candidate with a minimum of 45% overall (80% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). Applicants may also apply if they took the qualifying exam in March or April of 2024 or if they are still expecting their results.

Q:   Can I get The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, BA LLB (Hons) with a 76 percentage in 12th class?

A:

Yes, with a 76 percentile in your 12th class, you have a chance of being admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), BA LLB (Hons). Your chances, however, will be based on how well you do on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) as well as how competitive the year is overall.

The main criterion taken into account for admission to the BA LLB (Hons) programme at RGNUL is the CLAT. It is still possible to get into a university with a little lower 12th class percentage if you have a great CLAT score.

To create a shortlist of candidates for the personal interview (PI) stage, your percentage from your 12th grade will be used. Still, your admittance is not decided by the percentage alone.
The admissions procedure gives more weight to your CLAT score. A little lower 12th class percentage can be made up for with a good CLAT score.

You will receive an invitation to a PI if you are selected for further consideration. Your legal aptitude, communication abilities, and general programme fit are evaluated by the PI. You should concentrate on attaining a good CLAT score in order to improve your chances of being admitted to RGNUL, especially considering your 76 percent in 12th class. To establish oneself as a formidable contender, aim for a CLAT score in the upper percentile.

Remember that admission is difficult, and having a high CLAT score does not ensure admission. However, you can greatly increase your chances of being accepted into RGNUL's BA LLB (Hons) programme with a solid CLAT score and a well-prepared PI.

Q:   What are the factors affecting NLU Patiala CLAT cutoff 2024?

A:

Every year, the cut off marks for the CLAT exam are affected due to the following factors:

  • The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the CLAT cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
  • Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed.
  • Total candidates qualifying CLAT exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
  • Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
  • Previous year cut offs. For the top NLUs, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other NLUs, the cut off marks are relatively low.

Q:   Is CLAT exam tough to crack?

A:

CLAT is one of the highly competitive law exam and is considered to be one of the toughest exams to clear. However, aspirants should not worry, as with the right preparation and attitude you can definitely ace in the CLAT exam. The toppers of CLAT have suggested that aspirants should trust NCERT books and a habit to read newspaper daily to crack the exam. The difficulty level of CLAT paper is usually moderate. For complete insights on CLAT paper difficulty level, check analysis for current and previous years above.
