The college has good faculty and environment. The location is very good.
Placements: In my course, 30% of students were placed. The highest salary offered was 80,000 per month, the lowest was 15,000 per month, and the average salary was 20,000 per month. Around 25% of students got internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this college is good. The labs are well-equipped, the classrooms are decent, and the library is big. However, there is no Wi-Fi. The hostel rooms are good enough, and the food is okay. The quality of the food in the mess and canteen is not so bad. The medical facilities are decent, but the sports and games are not so good.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are highly qualified and experienced. They are knowledgeable and helpful. The semester examinations are quite hard. The pass percentage is only 25% to 30%.
Other: I chose this course randomly, but I think it turned out to be a good choice. I especially like the literature component of the course. However, I think the syllabus distribution system could be improved. Overall, though, everything is good.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Microbiology - Batch of 2026

Overall, satisfied with the college.
Placements: We have 21 students in our batch currently. If talking about placements, the rate is less as almost no companies come here to recruit, maybe because of the pace, as well as the college is that old; it needs to maintain its base and foundation like other Xavier's Colleges in Mumbai and Kolkata.
Infrastructure: The lab is well maintained, with plenty of space for all three years to work together at a time. A bit of chaos can happen, but it has all the modern equipment that has been. The classrooms are okay. The library is good; you have there Xerox machines to Xerox any notes, and that too, the price is very low.
Faculty: The teachers are very good at the way they interact and give everyone attention. The teachers do make the students industry-ready well; the teachers do prepare as they give knowledge needed once you are out of the college. And the university questions are not that difficult; even if you are an average student, you can pass easily if you work extra hard.
Other: The reason why I chose this course is because of the teachers and the way they told the future of this course and how this one is more applicable in the future. We have an annual fest every year, and that's the best thing about our college. We have different clubs that focus on extracurricular activities. The recent passing batch was an excellent one; the university topper was from our department.

Infrastructure: There was no hostel in our college. The infrastructure of our department was good. Labs, classrooms And library facilities were available for the students. There was canteen which had good food facility and we had other facilities like games and sports too.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and well resource person. There were obviously well qualified thus they had provided us good teaching materials. The course curriculum was relevant. We had no semester exams that time. Now it’s available in the college. Our passing percentage was good but now a days it’s better than ours percentage because now there is semester exam which makes easy to pass everyone .

B.Sc. in Botany (Hons.) - Batch of 2027

Siliguri College - My second home.
Placements: I have given a 1-star rating as Siliguri College does not provide any placements as of now. After completing my course, I have thought of completing a master's. I have seen a lot of students who did a B.Sc and opted for a M.Sc here. Later, it is not necessary to complete 4 years. If one likes to leave the college in between, they can do it. They'll get a certificate. If I want to leave after 2 years, I can leave after doing an internship. I will get a certificate also.
Infrastructure: In our botany department, we have good, spacious, and airy classrooms. We have a projector room where slides are shown and taught. We have microscopes, various specimens, and other things needed while doing practicals. We also have our laboratory with chemicals for chemical relations. Our college has a separate boys' hostel and a girls' hostel. I do not live in the hostel but some of my friends do. They have said that the hostel is fine. The food is average. In the hostel, I do not think there are facilities for games.
Faculty: Our department, teachers are very helpful. They always make sure that we understand the topic properly. Our syllabus will be completed before exams. They take online classes if the syllabus is spent. Our department teachers are highly qualified. We get important questions for exams. They teach students how to write proper answers to score marks. The teaching quality is very good. Our course mostly teaches students about plants that we eat and how to take care of them. It gives us a lot of knowledge about what to eat. It provides how to cure if there's a disease and how to grow a plant. It also adds to aesthetic features. Semester exams are moderate but hard for me. One thing that I've understood is to write. If you don't write you'll fail. Write whatever you know about the topic given in question. There is no such thing as a pass percentage in college. If you fail in some subjects then you have to take the exam again. For example, in the 1st semester, if you fail 2 subjects, then in the 3rd semester, you have to write an exam for those subjects with 3rd semester subjects exam. Again if you fail in the 2nd semester, you have to attempt those subjects exams in the 4th semester with 4th semester syllabus exams. In simple words, it's called back paper.
Other: I am a science student, but I am very scared of physics and chemistry, so I opted for botany at this college. I like this subject. It teaches me a lot every day about food, lifestyle, and what to eat or not. It provides medicinal value. These things are very important in today's lifestyle of chaos and hurry. I think our course is great and I'm looking forward to being keenly interested in the subject. We have events and fests in the college. Two of which are Freshers and Social. These are big ones. They are very amazing and enjoyable. Good and well-known artists are invited to perform in our college. It is very refreshing and rejuvenating. After loads of study, these things are needed. The campus surroundings are good. We have a field where games are played like cricket, football, volleyball, etc. Campus life is good. The crowd is not much. It is fine and, breathable. Our college offers various scholarships to students. Vivekananda Scholarship is one of them. In this scholarship, students should pay Rs. 18,000 every year after fulfilling some requirements like a certain percentage and no back paper. Other scholarships include Kanyashree for girls which gives Rs. 25,000 and Oasis Scholarship for both girls and boys which gives Rs. 5,000.

Overall, good environment but teachers are negligent.
Placements: No placement was offered, and no companies visited the English department. I don't think any companies would visit to offer placements to students due to the college's poor infrastructure. Even if any companies did visit, they would offer very low packages, which I would say poor packages.
Infrastructure: There is availability of Wi-Fi only in canteen and computer lab. Classrooms are average (a little dirty though). There is a library in the college where students can find any material related to the study of their subject. The food quality is average, sometimes they cook well and sometimes bad.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and understanding while some are not at all. Teachers are knowledgeable. My only complaint is that some teachers teach only in Bengali and not in Hindi or English, which is very difficult to understand for non-Bengali community. Course curriculum is relevant but doesn't make students industry-ready. Teachers have basic knowledge of the subject matter, thanks to the introduction of NEP. I don't know the pass percentage, I think it is around 70%. Semester exams are easy and can be passed with regular study.
Other: I chose this course so that I can apply for B.Ed program to become a teacher. The best thing about our course is that I get to meet people of different ethnicities and interact with them as this college is a multiregional college. Teachers would be more interactive with students. College organizes grand freshers and social events every year, which is probably the best in Siliguri. Students gather together to celebrate the event and artists are invited to perform live in our college. College is very crowded during the events. Students can participate in different extracurricular activities, which include cricket, football, volleyball, and badminton. College gives opportunities to everyone to participate in it.

If you are going to pursue BBA from this college.
Placements: There is no placement opportunity in our college; we don't get any placement opportunities. We only get internships in our 3rd year with the college itself. We can get internships in our specialized field, like have finance so we can get internships in finance and not in other fields.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good; they have smart boards in every class, and the library is also very good but the books are a little bit old. The whole college has Wi-Fi but only faculty can use it, and students are not eligible to use it, so we can't use it.
Faculty: The faculty is qualified and they are very helpful but the teaching quality is very bad. You cannot understand what they are teaching, and the curriculum is not very good because they are just copying and pasting from the other college because they are autonomous .
Other: Yes, I will choose this course, but this college is not the best for the BBA. The curriculum has to be improved, as does the faculty's way of teaching .
