Q:   Is BBA at Pacific University worth the investment?

A:
{Source: BBA students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

* Infrastructure: The university has a huge campus with modern facilities, including hostels, laboratories, libraries, and sports grounds. While some students mentioned that certain classes lack Wi-Fi connectivity, overall, the infrastructure seems to be well-maintained.
* Teaching: Teachers are considered experienced, knowledgeable, and supportive. They use various teaching methods, including digital tools, and are willing to help students beyond regular office hours.
* Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is deemed relevant and beneficial, especially for those interested in pursuing a career in business. However, some students felt that it could be improved.
* Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, the placement record for BBA graduates is not impressive. Only a few companies visit the campus, and the salary packages are relatively low (ranging from INR10,000 to INR35,000 per month). Most jobs offerred are related to sales and marketing.
* Industry Exposure: The university provides limited industry exposure, mostly through educational tours. Some students appreciated these opportunities, while others felt they could be better utilized.
* Campus Life: Extracurricular activities, such as festivals, sports events, and cultural programs, are organized regularly. The campus atmosphere appears lively, and students seem to enjoy themselves outside of academia.

Overall, whether the BBA programme at Pacific University is "worth the investment" depends on individual goals and expectations. While the university offers decent infrastructure and supportive teachers, its placement record leaves something to be desired. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully before making a decision.

Note: This answer is based solely on the provided student and alumni feedback and does not include external data or research. It aims to provide an informed perspective on the BBA programme at Pacific University, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses.

Absolutely dissatisfied with accounts teachers.
Placements: Only a small percentage of individuals who pursued a B.Com degree did not secure placements, not because of their lack of capability, but rather because they chose not to actively seek employment. Some students already had their own businesses, while others aimed to pursue further studies. However, it is worth noting that even after two years of graduating from university, there are still placement opportunities available.
Infrastructure: The college boasts excellent infrastructure and facilities, including labs, a seminar hall, a conference room, a library, a sports room, and a spacious ground for football and cricket. The hostel facilities were satisfactory, with comfortable rooms and good quality food in the mess. Fortunately, I never had to experience any medical emergencies during my time there.
Faculty: Several teachers in my department were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly helpful and caring. However, I had reservations about the course curriculum as it didn't seem to prepare us adequately for the industry. The semester exams during my time of study were quite challenging, with a passing rate that was above average. I was surprised to find that, unlike in other colleges, there were a few students who failed in our B.Com program.
Other: After 12th, I was a bit confused about what to do, so I did B.Com.

Satisfied with the faculty members of my college.
Placements: Around 75% of students has been placed in my course. The highest package offered in my course is around 90 Lacs per annum the lowest package offered is around 50 Lacs per annum average package is around 60 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies for my course are Apollo Pharmacy, medimex, etc. Around 80% of students got internship from my course in medimex company. Top roles offered in my course are Pharmacist, clinical pharmacist, etc.
Infrastructure: There are many labs in my college for different subjects to perform practical activities. There are many classrooms in my college and all are large in size. The furniture of classroom are also of top quality and proper ventilation are there in the classes for sunshine and wind. Hostel is inside campus only with the availability of double sharing. The quality of food in mess is also top notch. Medical facilities are available in hostel at midnight also. Many sports also get organized by the hostel department .
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified in their respective degrees. They are so helpful and are always available for the students and never deny to solve our query. All of them have proper knowledge their subjects. Teaching quality of each teacher is amazing. Somewhere the course is curriculum relevant but students should research on their own also and update themselves regularly. Yes it do make students industry ready. Semester exams are difficult for those who studied anything for the exam. Pass percentage is around 50%. .
Other: I chose this course as I want to become a pharmacist and give my contribution in this industry to serve the country. Best thing about my course is that it makes you job ready after completion of the degree. One thing which I wish can be improved is that the practical timings can get extended a bit. Many events are organized in the campus and co curricular activities are also get organized time to time.

Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get Pacific University, MBA with a 56 percentile in CAT?

A:

While eligibility for Pacific University's MBA programme requires a minimum CAT percentile of 55, the likelihood of securing admission with a 56 percentile depends on various factors, including the availability of seats in your chosen specialization, the overall competitiveness of the applicant pool, and your performance in the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

A CAT percentile of 56 may be considered on the lower end for admission to Pacific University's MBA program, but it is not impossible to get in. To improve your chances of consideration, consider the following strategies:

  1. Highlight Your Strengths: Focus on highlighting your strengths and relevant experiences in your application essays, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. Emphasize your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and any work experience that demonstrates your aptitude for business and management.

  2. Prepare Thoroughly for WAT and PI: Practice for the WAT and PI extensively to showcase your communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and problem-solving approach. Prepare well-structured responses and examples to demonstrate your suitability for the MBA program.

  3. Seek Guidance from Admissions Office: Consult with the university's admissions office to understand the specific requirements and expectations for your chosen specialization. They can provide valuable insights and guidance on improving your application.

  4. Consider Alternative Options: Explore alternative options if you are concerned about your CAT percentile. Pacific University offers various MBA specializations, and the cut-offs may vary for different specializations. You may also consider applying to other universities that have lower CAT percentile requirements.

Remember, the admissions process considers a holistic evaluation of your profile, not just your CAT percentile. Your academic record, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in the WAT and PI play a significant role in the decision-making process. By demonstrating your strengths and preparing thoroughly for all aspects of the application, you can increase your chances of securing admission to Pacific University's MBA program, even with a 56 percentile in CAT.
