Pursuing BDS at People's University: Worth It?

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what stands out:

Pros:

* Highly qualified faculty: Many teachers are experts in their fields, having completed their education from reputed institutions. Some have even authored textbooks related to Dentistry.
* Good campus life: The university has a pleasant atmosphere, with greenery surrounding the campus, modern libraries, and recreational facilities like gyms, badminton and basketball courts.
* Relevant curriculum: The course curriculum is up-to-date and follows Dental Council of India (DCI) guidelines, preparing students well for their future careers.
* Placement prospects: Although there may not be direct placements in big companies, many students find employment in hospitals, clinics, or pursue further studies in Master's programs.
* Infrastructure: The university has state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and medical facilities, making it suitable for hands-on learning.

Cons:

* Recent decline in teacher quality: A few experienced faculty members have left the institution, affecting the quality of teaching.
* Limited resources: While the campus has modern amenities, some areas need improvement, such as the lack of air-conditioned classrooms and poor maintenance of sports grounds.
* Disappointing hostel facilities: Despite being located within the campus, the hostels require upgrading, with issues regarding room size, food options, and timely resolution of problems.

Overall Assessment:
While People's University offers some strengths, such as highly qualified faculty and a relevant curriculum, the recent decline in teacher quality and limited resources might impact the overall learning experience. However, the university's efforts to maintain a pleasant campus atmosphere and provide opportunities for students' growth should not be overlooked.

Considering these factors, pursuing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree at People's University can be a viable option for those who prioritize a strong educational foundation and are willing to adapt to potential limitations in certain areas.

The college is good, but there should be more teachers and better infrastructure.
Placements: There are no placements in the physiotherapy sector. You have to find your own jobs. They should change it, as it is difficult for students to find appropriate jobs for them. The college can help them with placements. This can be solved by collaborating with other hospitals.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are good. The campus has 2 buildings for physiotherapy. The canteens are good. There are 3-4 canteens and a supermarket, which are helpful for people who live in the hostel. Library facilities are good, and there are 2 libraries, a central library and a college library.
Faculty: Exams are always held on time. The teachers are good, knowledgeable, and helpful. They try every possible way to make students understand the subject. The exams are held every year, as there is no semester system. There are 3 internal exams you need to pass to get your admit card for the final exams.

The college was properly maintained with discipline.
Placements: Students were provided in an organised way with internships at different rehabilitation centres like CRC, Arushi School, Asha Niketan hospital, and People's hospital. All of the students in my course got the opportunity to go for an internship in these rehabilitation centres. The students got the chance to apply for the position of assistant physiotherapist in different hospitals.
Infrastructure: Everything was available on the college campus and the Therapy lab was well organized with all the modalities and equipment. The hostel is well maintained by the warden and food management is quite proper as well as maintained. The decorum of the hostel is perfectly maintained.
Faculty: The teachers were well qualified and were best in their specific fields. They used to guide and train the students nicely so that we can refine our capabilities. The pass percentile is 40%. The course was organized in such a way that the students got a chance to revise several time for 3 sessional exams and 1 annual examination.
Other: As I'm a medical student and I was searching for medical courses then I got an interest in being in a medical environment but not involving needles or surgical treatment. You get exposure to treating patients and involving them in physical activity. The events and fests organised here were amazing and enjoyable.
