Q:   Is CUET compulsory for taking admission in central university?

A:

Yes, CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is compulsory for admissions to undergraduate programs in most Central Universities in India. It serves as a unified entrance exam for students seeking admission to various undergraduate courses across participating Central Universities. Each university sets its eligibility criteria, but CUET scores are a primary criterion for admission. Exceptions may exist for certain specialised programs or institutions, but for most central universities, CUET is now an essential requirement for UG admissions.

Q:   How do I select the domain subjects for CUET UG?

A:

Before selecting the test or domain subjects, candidates are advised to visit the official website of university/organaisation they wish to apply for. Candidates must check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university from the following sections:

  • Section I - 13 Languages
  • Section II - 23 Domain Specific Subjects
  • Section III - General Test

It is not mandatory to choose any one or more of the tests stated above. The choice of tests would depend on the course/s opted by the candidate and the University / Organization / Institution where admission is sought. 

Q:   Does CUET require OBC certificate?

A:

Yes, OBC candidates applying for CUET must upload the OBC-NCL certificate in online CUET application form. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If candidate fail to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April, 2024) at the time of CUET 2025 registration, then in such case they will have to upload a declaration in lieu of OBC-NCl certificate to that effect. 

Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.

Q:   How do I apply for a college which requires CUET percentage even though am yet to give CUET?

A:

Candidates can apply for CUET score accepting colleges through CUET UG 2025 application form. While filling the application form, candidates will be required to enter the name of the preffered universities and courses in order of preference. On declaration of the CUET results, the scores will be shared with the unoversities for which candidate has applied. Basis on the score obtained candidate will be shortlisted for the applied course.

Q:   When can I apply for the CUET exam?

A:

National Testing Agency (NTA) will commence the CUET UG 2025 registrations at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Candidates desirous of taking admission to University/college through CUET must fill the application form before the deadline. On the release of the CUET notification important dates for CUET 2025 will be announced. CUET 2025 application process will be in online mode. Candidates will be required to fill the application form, upload documents and pay the application fee in online mode only. CUET is a gateway to more tahn 250 universities across India for its UG courses.

Q:   How many subjects can I choose for the CUET exam?

A:

From CUET UG 2025 onwards, candidates can now choose for five CUET subjects. Earlier, the subject choices were six. With the rediuction in number of CUET subjects, the choices have been reduced. Candidates can opt for five subjects from 23 domain subjects of any stream irrespective of subjects studied in class 12th. 

Q:   Can I join S K Somaiya College without CUET for B.Sc?

A:

S. K. Somaiya College offers multiple pathways for admission to its B.Sc. program. Besides the CUET applicants with a non zero SAT 2024 score are eligible. Additionally scores from exams like JEE-Main (Paper-1) 2024, PERA CET-2024 and MHT CET 2024 are considered. Interim admission in Phase 1 is based on Semester V results while Phase 2 includes a personal interview. Final decisions are made considering both academic merit and interview performance.

Candidates interested in applying for Rajiv Gandhi University Undergraduate courses through CUET 2025 must follow the given below steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website: rg.ac.in

Step 2: Under "Academics", click on Admission; the browser will be redirected to the admission portal of Rajiv Gandhi University admissions.rgu.ac.in

Step 3: Click on the Tab "RGU CUET-UG: Admission to Undergraduate Programmes"; Samart portal for registration will open.

Step 4: Register by entering the required details.

Step 5: Once registered, a General Information page will open, fill in the following details:

  • Upload Photo and Signature
  • Document Upload
  • Bank Account Details

Once updated, Review and Confirm the details.

Step 6: Pay the Registration Fee.

Step 7: Once the RGU CUET UG Merit List is released, selected candidates are required to pay the required Admission Fee on or before the last date mentioned in the Course-wise Merit List, through online mode.
