To apply for Periyar University MSc admission, the first step is to pass the eligibility criteria as per the university's norms. Aspirants who passed graduation in BCA/ BSc in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Technology/ Mathematics or any other equivalent degree in the respective subjects from any university accepted by Syndicate are eligible to apply for this course. Admission to MSc at Periyar University is both merit & entrance-based.

For admission to MSc courses taught at the university's department and Periyar University Centre for Postgraduate and Research Studies, candidates are required to pass the university-based entrance exam. However, direct admission is offered to the Industry-Academia Collaborative Programme of MSc in Data Science and other MSc courses offered at the affiliated colleges of Periyar University. Admission to these courses are done based on merit obtained in the last qualifying exam. 

At last, aspirants are required to fill an online application form with paying an application fee of INR 354. Further, they need to submit the application form offline with attested documents to the concerned department of Periyar University. 

Periyar University offers degree, Diploma, and Certificate courses to candidates at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. Courses offered are in the streams of Humanities & Social Sciences, IT & Software, Accounting & Commerce, Science, Business & Management Studies, Education, and Mass Communication & Media. MAT exam has five important sections - Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and Indian and Global Environment. Each section carries 40 questions each. Given below are the important topics from which questions are asked in MAT. 

• Language Comprehension - Verb, Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Adverb, Antonyms and Synonyms, Reading Comprehension, Parts of Speech, One Word Substitution, Vocabulary, Sentence Correction, Idioms/Phrases, Grammar, Fill the Blanks, Para Jumbles and Verbal Ability.
• Intelligence and Critical Reasoning - Family Tree, Strong Arguments and Weak Arguments, Multi-Dimensional Arrangements, Course of Action, Puzzles, Visual Reasoning, Arrangement, Series, Numeric Grid, Pie Chart, Blood Relations, Critical Reasoning, Calendars, Coding and Decoding, Syllogisms, Statement Conclusions, Column Graphs and Graphs Representing Area.
• Data Analysis and Sufficiency - Tables, Pie Charts, Caselet-based Data Charts, Graphs - Line X-Y Graphs, Venn Diagram, Bar Diagrams, Data Analysis and Data Comparison and Data Sufficiency Mathematical Skills- LCM and HCF, Commercial Maths Complex Numbers, Percentages, Permutation and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, and more.

Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, the conducting body of TANCET Counselling conducts the process online. The TANCET counseling process involves several steps with a physical document verification round. Step-wise process for TANCET counseling is as follows:

• Counselling Registration
• Publication of TANCET rank list
• Choice filling
• Publication of tentative allotment
• Confirming tentative allotment
• Publication of provisional allotment
• Supplementary counseling round
• SCA to SC counseling

TANCET scores are valid for a period of one year. Candidates aspiring for admission in 2023-24 exam session can only use the TANCET 2023 scores for admission. Candidates who wish for an MBA Admission in any of the TANCET participating colleges in 2024-25 batch must appear for TANCET 2024.

Irrespective of the 2023 score, DTE Tamil Nadu will not consider the TANCET 2023 scores for 2024 admission. Similarly, candidates planning to apply for MBA Admission in 2025-26 batch, must apply for the TANCET 2025 exam.

• Application for Provisional registration- A candidate applying for provisional registration shall furnish all the information in the form prescribed together with the prescribed fee within 30 days of his / her admission in the Departments /Colleges / Institutions
• Interdisplinary Research- For interdisciplinary research a candidate may have a Co-Guide at Periyar University.

 

Periyar University offers admission to MBA (General) and MBA (Export Management) courses. To join MBA at Periyar University, candidates have to go through a selection process. It is inclusive of fulfilling the minimum eligibility and qualifying for the entrance exam. Aspirants who passed graduation in any stream are eligible to apply for the course. Admission to MBA course at Periyar University is completely entrance-based. Find below the admission process for MBA at Periyar University:

1. Fulfilling the eligibility criteria: Candidates must pass graduation in any stream with 50% aggregate (for MBA (General) & 55% aggregate (for Export Management). Those belonging to reserved categories must get minimum of 45% aggregate.
2. Filling the application form: An online application is required to fill before passing the deadline. Candidates must fill an online application form from the official website of Periyar University and submit the application form to the Head Office of Periyar University.
