It is a great college with good faculty and facilities.

Placements: In 2018, many companies like Infosys, Mahindra, TCS, etc., visited our campus for placements. More than 70% of the students got placed in 2018. The average salary offered was Rs. 35,000 to 40,000 per month. A lot of students were offered the roles of clerk and accountant.

Satisfied with the overall learning we got from the course.

Placements: Placements is good as whoever wants a job gets placed. But mostly students go for post graduation and not opt for placements. Still the 10% batch who SAT for placements got placed. Roles offered varied from analyst to IT related roles as well. Deloitte and MU Sigma are some of the good companies which came for placements. Regarding internships, there is no as such compulsion to do an internship, however, one can always do something under college professors or get one from outside.

The review of Presidency University, Kolkata.

Placements: Placement drives are not organised especially for the students of arts allied courses. The placement cell is not active. However, there are placement options available for certain applied science courses. Since there is a great impetus on academics, placements have never been a priority for our college, and it will remain so. The scenario is the same for the internships.

Overall, a good college but lacks the maintenance of lab instruments.

Placements: None have tried for professional lines. All have decided to go for higher studies. Most of them have decided to take admission in the same college for higher studies, and few others are trying to get into other institutions that provide integrated courses.

The campus life is one to die for, but some of the faculty really have to step up the quality.

Placements: Presidency University being an arts and science university does not offer placements after post graduation except for the economics department. The economics department guarantees some sort of placements to its post-graduation students, but it is not at all at par compared to other universities as such.

Good University, advance syllabus, faculties are professional, nice infrastructure, no placement.

Placements: No campusing facility will be provided by the department. But if anybody wants to achieve something he/she needs to work on their own. The syllabus is much good, but you should do self-study. There are a certain number of students who get admission to eminent institutes like TIFR, IIT, CMI, ISI, IISC, IMSC, etc. but they cracked the exams with their own hard work, not with the help of the university.

Good infrastructure and faculty, worth joining.

Placements: The placements were quite satisfactory. The average placements went around 4 Lacs. The highest placement was around 7-8 lacs. There is a placement cell in the college headed by a group of students which help the students to get placed. The companies which visited the campus were quite reputed ones.

Great university with total perfection in education, infrastructure, campus life and placements.

Placements: Presidency University doesn't offer placements for all the courses and subjects. Mostly, on-campus placements are conducted for the economics and the statistics departments. Students from both these departments get placed in recognised companies like HSBC, HP, Ernst & Young, etc. There's a separate dedicated cell in Presidency University to look after placements and other related issues. The highest salary package offered is 13 LPA. The average salary package offered is 5 LPA. Students were most...

Are you interested in Presidency University?

Placements: Presidency university offers Science and humanities subject. So, placements, directly from campus is a bit problematic. Though students from Physics, chemistry or biology field get jobs in private institutes like AKASH or Pathfinder. Students from Economics and statistics are selected in direct campusing of some BANKS. Apart from these, some media house take students from language departments. But percentage is very low. Students opt for research field more. The highest package is near about 13l...

The college is quite good. I'm satisfied with all the facilities provided by the college.

Placements: Placement and job opportunities in the college are quite available as numerous private sector companies hire many postgraduate students every year. There is a placement cell, and it was started by the college authority to look after the placement activities for the students.

This college is the best choice.

Placements: Since it is a college that offers general courses, placement numbers are not like other engineering colleges. However, studying in this college definitely matters if one is interested in higher studies like M.Sc and PhD. Almost 90% of my batchmates have cleared JAM exam and are studying M.Sc. in IITs. The rest of the students continue pursuing their M.Sc in the same University.

Overall the college is okay, but there are no placements.

Placements: Unfortunately, the college doesn't provide any good placements after graduation. Most of our seniors are doing M.Sc. or integrated PhD. I don't know there is any placement cell or not, but if there exists any placement cell, it is inactive. We apply for internships on our own.

One of the best brands of college in Kolkata but you'll have to set your own path!

Placements: We didn't really have a lot of placement options as most of the students opted for Masters. There weren't a lot of placement options. But, I think some private teaching institutes did visit the college but I wasn't interested. so I can't comment more. I did get an internship abroad when I was in my masters because I topped in the Bachelors from Presidency.

A deteriorating college where one should not get enrolled, especially in mathematics department.

Placements: There are no placements offered by the college. At least not in our department as long as I have been at university. I've heard that there are placements provided but haven't seen any. Hopefully, when the authority and faculty feel that the university needs to do something about students, they might start providing placements then.

We faced problems with some faculty members but overall it was good.

Placements: Most of the students after completing their graduation in history honours opted for a master degree in the same university or outside Kolkata. Some students shifted to other courses. But placements are quite good at Presidency University. People are well placed now in different cities, and some are pursuing higher studies in different cities.

The college has good faculty and infrastructure.

Placements: Placements are not a regular phenomenon by the college. Few companies visit the campus for placements. Most of them look for content writers and offer similar job profiles. So, the students are left wanting for more. The college is more academic oriented. Many students join here intend to pursue a PhD in later years.

Presidency University is the heritage of Kolkata.

Placements: The placement cell present in the college is not active. Placements are offered, but the package provided to the students was very low. So, the students opt for higher studies than going for placements. No internships are provided to the students, and the students have to look for such opportunities on their own. However, companies Axis Bank, HSBC, Bibek Academy, etc., visit our college to conduct placements.

Good place to start with.

Placements: The University has an active placement cell and has been recruiting students since a long time. Companies like Cognizant come to the University. Companies recruiting teachers have also been recruiting recently. Out of 30 students, almost 20 are recruited. The stipend ranges between 20-30k per month. The University also has a wide range of internship opportunities. Summer interns are selected every year and sent to imminent Universities such as University of Groningen, with which Presidency also ...

Placements: Most placements take place for the students of Economics and Statistics departments. Companies like HSBC, Axis Bank etc. Recruit from these departments. Where as for Physics, Chemistry. Mathematics and Biological Sciences departments, mostly Private Coaching Institutes for JEE and NEET like Pathfinder, Bibek Academy of Career Toppers, R. I. C. E. come to recruit. Where as Geology students get placed in Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Earlier companies like Schlumburger, Coal India used to come. For Humaniti...

Presidency University, legacy and heritage.

Placements: After the completion of B.A programme, many students joined other universities for Masters degree, whereas others got into jobs in media houses, banks and schools. The sciences department provides the best placements in many MNCs as well as in reputed institutions. The social sciences have provided a plethora of eminent academics, civil servants, journalists etc.
