Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com programs at Ravenshaw University Cuttack?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com Programs

* Limited opportunities: According to students, the college provides limited placement opportunities for B.Com programs, mostly for MSc and BSc departments.
* No dedicated placement cell: Unfortunately, there is no dedicated placement cell in the college for B.Com programs, making it challenging for students to find suitable job opportunities.
* Few companies visiting campus: Although some reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, and Genpact visit the campus, they mainly recruit students from other departments, leaving B.Com students with fewer options.
* Low salary packages: When students do manage to get placed, the salary packages are reportedly low, ranging from 1.5 LPA to 2 LPA.

Overall, the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com programs seems limited, with students facing challenges in finding suitable job opportunities due to the lack of a dedicated placement cell and limited recruitment efforts from employers.

Where moments became memories .
Placements: The minimum percentage of a student needed for this course is 90. The self-finance course students are offered placements. The highest package is 8 Lacs and the minimum package is 4 Lacs. Students also go for internships in different fields. There is also a high chance of getting a job in the future.
Infrastructure: The faculty members and infrastructure of our college are very good. Students also get hostel accommodation. Both in classrooms and hostels, Wi-Fi is provided. The quality of food in the hostel is good, so each student buys the food. The hostel room is very neat and clean.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and helpful. Their teaching style is far different from others. The semester exam is a little difficult in our college. As the teachers teach in a very understanding way, it is very easy to understand for the students.
Other: This course is very affordable and has a high chance of opportunities in the future to get a job. Many fests and events are also held.

Perceiving the Ravenshaw University.
Placements: About 30% of students were placed. The highest package is INR 45000, and the lowest is INR 20000. Students are selected for IIT JAM and recruited by the top companies in India. About 10 percent of our batch were offered internship programs. There are many opportunities for internships.
Infrastructure: The library is one of the things I love the most. It is a really good facility for studying. There are air conditioners and tables in the facilities. They really maintain their cleanliness. Wi-Fi is also available in the library. The facilities in the hostel were really good.
Faculty: Teachers were really helpful and qualified. All the teachers have at least completed their master's, and many have also completed their doctorate. Semester exams are at the standard level; if you study a bit more, you can score good marks. In our batch, the pass percentage was always 100 percent.
Other: I have always loved mathematics, so I chose to pursue my career in B.Sc. mathematics, and Ravenshaw was a good option for that. There are always many events organized on campus, like blood donation camps and annual functions.

If students want to opt for the general line, then this is one of the best colleges for them.
Placements: Our university does not provide any placements. It makes us ready for future endeavours that are headed in the general direction of many opportunities. We can also prepare for the banking sector, SSC exams, the railway, and mainly the teaching sector. To work in these sectors, this university provides us with a solid foundation. They also provide internships in nearby schools, which gives us a brief idea of the teaching system.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great. The building was built during the British era. Everything is great. Some of the hostels are old, while others are new, but they can accommodate 60%–70% of students. As the number of students is far greater than the campus area can accommodate, some students are forced to stay outside. We have a digital library. It also provides a central library. Wi-Fi is available in our hostels. The food quality is better. Medical facilities are provided. Sports and games are also conducted.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and well-qualified. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant to make us ready for the industry. Students should pay attention in class if they want to score a SGPA of more than 8. The passing percentage is 30%.

Good and bad memories of Ravenshaw University.
Placements: I did B.Sc. mathematics in ravenshaw University. In this course company don't come for placements. Therefore we didn't had placements in our batch neither our seniors had placements. Other courses like B.Com MBA etc. Companies come for placements. I don't have any idea about which all companies came.
Infrastructure: British made this University, so the infrastructure is more or like the same way. Every hostel Wi-Fi facilities are given. Hostels are 2seater, 3seater,6 seaters, and even dormitory. The playground is quite big for the one who are fond of playing games like cricket, football etc. Quality of labs and classroom are neutral for me. I GOT 2seater hostel and given good food in hostel. I didn't face any problem in my tenure.
Faculty: Lecturers were well qualified. Some of them were guest faculty. Some of them were qualified and knowledgeable but were not good at teaching. Some of the lecturers teaching methods were helpful. We didn't get any industry exposure in course. The course was useful.
Other: Every department have there individual freshers and farewell party. Department picnic are held in which are 1st,2nd and 3rd year students are mix-up with faculty members. Science, commerce and arts students have a kind of annual function. Even every hostel have there individual annual function. Various scholarship are also there.

It is a very fabulous college for students interested to excel.
Placements: Nearly 60% of the students get placed in the course. The highest salary package offered to date was 25 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are HCL and Amazon. There were no much internships, but those who got the chance were present in IISER, IISC Bengaluru, and some also got in BARC.
Infrastructure: All the facilities in our college are available in our department. Even there is a separate library in our department for students to get books. Wi-Fi is available, and classrooms are well-equipped. The quality of the facilities provided in our hostel was fabulous. Cleanliness were maintained extremly well. Sanitary conditions are quite good. Food served was proper and very tasty. Medical facilities are also given. We have a provision for sports and games too.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified and quite knowledgeable. They have a solution to every problem, and they help us in every way possible way at any time. The teaching quality is also very good as many students in our department clear the IIT JAM exams after graduation.
