Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How can I get admission in Saveetha Medical College?

A:

Admissions to Saveetha Medical College can be obtained only if students qualify for entrance exams of the respective courses. For medical courses like MBBS, it's not possible to get admission without appearing for the NEET exam. Without qualification for entrance exams, one would not be eligible for admission. Entrance exams might not be required for non-medical courses like B. Sc or BA. Technical courses like engineering usually require entrance exams like JEE Mains.

Q:   Is Saveetha University BTech entrance tough?

A:

For Saveetha University BTech admission, the university accepts the scores of in-house entrance examinations, followed by TNEA counselling. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is a state-level counselling for admission to  BE/ BTech. The university does not mention more information about the entrance examination. Candidates can directly reach the university admission portal to learn more about the in-house entrance examination.

Good opportunity for medical students.
Placements: There are a lot of job vacancies both in government and private sector which are easy to get. There are many government hospitals that we can work in as a medical officer. We can also study for post graduation and get paid at the same time. Also, a 1-year internship is provided at the end of the course and stipend paid is Rs 20000/- per month.
Infrastructure: Management manages to arrange many events and competitions each year. Labs in the college are very good and very well maintained. The college has a very big sports ground in which cricket, volleyball, football, and other sports can be played. There are 2 basketball grounds and a lawn tennis ground. There is a fully equipped gym present in the campus. I was in the hostel for four years. We had a good time with friends, night outs during exams etc. Seniors used to help us in learning and clearing our doubts during the examination time, as we were in hostel, it became a plus point for us. College hostel has sharing rooms like 2,3,4. Minimum hostel charges are nearly 81,000 for a year. Food is quite good, so no need to worry about that.
Faculty: College has well qualified faculty members, many are Ph.D. holders. Anatomy and physiology teachers were amazing, teachers explained us very well about each and every body part, it's functions etc. All the five years we enjoyed and teachers were interested to train us as we showed interest in learning. MBBS degree course is of 4 years and 1 year of mandatory internship. The academic session is divided into three levels, each level is of 18 months. We have been taught about medicine. We have also practically trained with medicine and surgery. The course is structured to give students proper theoretical knowledge of all topics, followed by practical training in the same.

Saveetha University is a very good private institution for undergraduates.
Placements: Most of the students prepare for PG after their UG. Students also get a job as a junior resident in hospitals across the city. I have seen many seniors joined in hospitals in the city, and they have acquired PG seats in government medical colleges and AIIMS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. There are 4 lecture halls to accommodate about 250 seats. There are two conference halls with a seating capacity for more than 500 students. All the classrooms are air-conditioned with smart boards. Our college provides a Wi-Fi facility. The canteen in hostels is good. There are also other places on the campus to have food. There is a huge ground for games like football, cricket, volleyball and tennis courts.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very friendly, knowledgeable and qualified. There are so many senior faculty members in each department. They are humble and passionate about teaching. All classes are conducted by the professors and assistant professors, but not by PGT.
Other: The cultural and sports festival named Lynx is conducted each year by the students.

Good infrastructure best place to study nice faculty and teaching staff are awesome.
Placements: 80 percent of students were placed in the course. The highest salary was 80000 and the average salary was 50000 and the lowest salary was 20000. Top recruiting companies were from Apollo Hospital and lifeline healthcare Top roles were medicine surgery pathology and biochemistry Nearly 75 percent of the students got internship from Apollo and lifeline healthcare.
Infrastructure: College has nice infrastructure well ventilated and Wi-Fi is available in the library rooms. Labs are still remodeling. Now new equipment are being incorporated but still looks and feels good to study Classes are well spacious and auditorium is air-conditioned The food in the hostel are palatable they provide us non-veg food every Wednesday and Sunday. We have a big pharmacy and a big playground available for sports.
Faculty: Teachers are awesome, talented. They will teach you the best and no doubt everyone is awesome. They explain to you using a projector and clarify your doubts. The course curriculum is relevant and you will be trained nicely and you can learn so much by patient care.
Other: MBBS is best here in Saveetha. You can easily pass out by just listening to the lecture and just reference some book all we need is knowledge I wish the infrastructure could improve slightly. Events sports are fine We are offered scholarships.

Splendid college with ample amenities where we can fetch knowledge happily.
Placements: Being a self-professional course, we can start our clinics and even go to the corporate hospitals. The stipend will be offered during the internship. I guess that the stipend amount will be Rs. 20K per month, but am not sure. As we are doctors, we also get a doctors role during the internship. As I had already said, 100% placement is provided.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing, not even a bit less. Everything is perfect in our college. It has a completely lovable and a high-tech infrastructure. Wi-Fi facility with 65MBPS speed is provided. There are spacious labs, the smartboards in the classrooms and the projectors in the halls. It has a big library, the food in the canteen is good, and the hostel rooms are spacious with a maximum of 2 people per room. The single rooms are also available. No infrastructure related issues have come to my knowledge as of yet.
Faculty: There are a plenty of faculty members. Again, being a medical course, the teachers also have good knowledge. Smartboards are used for teaching. Practicals are conducted with the patients and the mannequin. The students are provided the hospital exposure from the first year until the last (more intense than the government medical college). The student to faculty ratio is 40:1.
Other: We can have good education along with the freedom and the leisure time. There won't be any stress according to me. It has the colourful environment. It has a good reputation with NAAC - A grade. We need to write the entrance exam (before NEET, when I joined), attend some sorts of procedures like group discussions, and the counseling will be held before being selected.

Other: It is an awesome college for academic purposes with technology involved learning process, but I wont guarantee other enjoyments. In my opinion it is OK for nerds. The college has a lot of equipments for academics and a fairly good wifi. I am telling these things for medical college. Of course, the university has other colleges which I am unsure about how life and other thing progresses.
