Shiv Nadar University Chennai Announces PhD intake for January 2025
Dec 2, 2024: Shiv Nadar University Chennai, commonly known as SNU Chennai is the third higher education initiative by the Shiv Nadar Foundation. SNU Chennai is now accepting applications for its PhD programmes for the January 2025 intake. Aspiring scholars are encouraged to apply by 13 December, 2024. Shiv Nadar University PhD programmes are offered in various disciplines, including Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering, English, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, and Interdisciplinary Research. These programs are designed to address some of the most pressing challenges in these fields and foster innovation through rigorous academic and research training.
Aspring scholars must check the eligibility criteria, stated below:
Full-Time/Part-Time PhD: First-class master’s degree in the relevant discipline
Direct PhD (Engineering): B.E./ B.Tech degree with a CGPA of 8.5 or above
The admission process involves an entrance examination followed by a personal interview. Successful candidates will join the university's academic programs, commencing on January 2, 2025.

Shiv Nadar University, Chennai to Conduct the Grand Finale of EDUQUEST’23
January 20, 2023: On Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Shiv Nadar University Chennai Campus at Kalavakkam, OMR Road, Shiv Nadar University Chennai will host its Flagship Inter School Fest, EduQuest, a South India level Quiz & Project Competition. Students are supposed to have opportunities to study and develop through EduQuest.
In Coimbatore, Madurai, Tuticorin, Trichy, Trivandrum, and Kochi during the months of November, December, and January, there were six zonal rounds of the quiz competition. On January 21st, the Shiv Nadar University Chennai campus will host the 7th Zonal round. For the grand finale, the winners from each of the zonal areas will compete. The SNUC QuBiz winners will receive enticing prizes and scholarships of 4.5 lakhs.
The role of technology and its contribution to society is the topic of the project competition. About fifty teams from all over India, including one team from Nepal, have registered for the project competition. The winners of SNUC PROJECTX will receive scholarships and appealing prizes totaling two lakhs.

December 01, 2022: Nandakumar Subburaman, CEO and Co-Founder of Perfint Healthcare Pvt Ltd., was our distinguished chief guest as Invente'22, the two-day flagship Techfest of Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering and Shiv Nadar University Chennai, got underway on December 1, 2022.
Nandakumar discussed Maxio, the company's mascot robot, in his introductory speech. He emphasised the innovative and fascinating new field of robotic surgery. He talked on how technology is transforming medicine while keeping people's safety and well-being in mind.
Dr Kala Vijayakumar, President, SSN Institutions and Pro-Chancellor, SNUC; Dr Annamalai, Principal, SSNCE; Dr Nallusamy, Registrar, SNUC; and Dr Kavitha, Professor and Head, BME, SSNCE were among the respected individuals seated on the dais. This technological festival includes 3 significant workshops in cutting-edge topics, 64 technical events, and 14 non-technical events. Hackinfinity, which offers a forum for those interested in problem-solving, is another premier event. The country as a whole participates heavily in Invente'22.

A two-day intercollegiate technical festival, Invente - a nexus of Innovation, Creativity, and Entertainment, strives to inspire quick-witted and enthusiastic students to find their feet and look beyond academics in order to help them discover their hidden interests, abilities, and vocation. Shiv Nadar University Chennai Opens PhD Admissions for Monsoon Session, 2022-23
June 02, 2022: Shiv Nadar University is a public university in Shiv Nadar, India Shiv Nadar Foundation's third higher education endeavour, Chennai, has begun accepting applications for PhD programmes in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, and Interdisciplinary Research. The university has also launched a PhD programme in English this year, with students able to focus in either English Literature or English Language Teaching (ELT). Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Speech Technology, Data Science, Biometrics, Mergers and Acquisitions, and other specialisations are available through the University's PhD programmes.
Shiv Nadar University Chennai's thrust areas of research in English Literature and English Language Teaching (ELT) are a response to the global developments that are being observed across academia. Researchers in English Literature would be encouraged to explore not only Western literary texts, but also literary texts produced in English wherever in the world, including those written in Indian English. ELT academics would similarly examine how English is learned in a multilingual India and hypothesise in ways that are appropriate to Indian circumstances rather than mindlessly following Western language learning ideas.
In addition to full-time and part-time doctoral programmes, the University will offer a highly sought-after 'Direct PhD' in Engineering for young scholars who want to start doctoral programmes right after finishing their bachelor's degree in engineering. When compared to students who pursue a two-year Master's degree followed by a PhD programme, direct PhD would save them roughly a year.

SNU Chennai Sets Application Open For 2022-23 Academic Session
May 4, 2022: Shiv Nadar University Chennai, Shiv Nadar Foundation's third foray into higher education, has begun accepting applications for its undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2022-23. The university is accepting applications for its six-degree programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Commerce, and Economics.
In addition to the two already offered programmes of BTech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science and BTech in Computer Science & Engineering, the University has launched a new, future-focused concentration in Cybersecurity for BTech in Computer Science this year (with a focus on Internet of Things). In addition, the University is establishing a new Department of Economics in the 'School of Science and Humanities,' which will provide cutting-edge specialisations in programmes such as the BSc in Economics (Data Science).
