They were all goods I guess so !
Placements: There were 79 students in my class and there's really good place for studies and i have enjoyed very much at my college. Now I have competed mt course and i still feel like just few back years I have made lots of friends and the college is perfect!
Infrastructure: Hostels facilities were also good. Hostels were there for both girls and boys separately and the food quality was good for us as students we need to stay healthy and need a good environment. The college provided all of these and I am really happy and grateful for that.
Faculty: Teachers are really good not as being teachers but also they were like friends and very supportive in every field. They show the right way and thy teach valuation lesson for us. They show the right path with proper guidance. They all were so kind and responsible.
Other: I had chosen B com course and I wanted to chose it and I have no regrets. Being part of this college I am really grateful to the teachers. They always shows us right path and all my friends are with me always.

Dissatisfied with faculty.
Placements: The college offers zero placement after graduation. No placement facility is provided in the college after graduation. There should be a facility provided by the college for the placement of students according to their final results. All the students are left with only a graduation certificate.
Infrastructure: Overall, the college has great infrastructure, and the classes are well-built. However, the college does not provide Wi-Fi, and the labs are not often used. Hostel food is pretty average, like at most other hostels. The cafeteria, though, has great food and provides a sitting area with a ceiling fan.
Faculty: Teachers were always in a rush to finish the syllabus. Overall, the teaching quality was average. The course curriculum is relevant and does make us industry-ready. Semester exams were not too difficult, but the answer scripts were checked strictly.
Other: This course provides various ways to start a business and make it successful. There should be more practical classes to gain more knowledge about the course. The college fest is celebrated every year in June and includes various activities like football, volleyball, chess, dance competitions, and singing competitions.

B.A. in Psychology - Batch of 2025

My college review, all the best.
Placements: Sadly, there is no placement available at our university. But you can apply to other Sikkimese universities, which are private, and they can give you placements. But the skills you'll be learning throughout the journey will not upset you at the end; these will bring a lot of opportunities in the future.
Infrastructure: Yes, there are labs and Wi-Fi facilities as well. There are many department classrooms in our SU, and the library is a plus point there. The hostel facility is also quite good, as my friends never complain about the mess food, but the water scarcity is a major problem here in the state.
Faculty: Our psychology professors are very smart, to be honest. Compared to other faculty members, they are young, so their teaching methods are very advanced and highly acknowledged. The semester exams are divided into 3 stages. For example, in one semester, we have to give 3 exams. The first term is totally based on writing (25 marks), and the second term is based on assignments and presentations. The third term is written, which carries 50 marks, and in the end, we need to score 33 to pass.
Other: I chose psychology because I want to become a psychologist. Ever since I was in 9th grade, my school counselor has inspired me a lot. And you can also choose a course since its so diverse and the professors who will be guiding you through this journey are amazing. Yes, college life is a bit hectic, but this festival season will boost your interest. We also have 3 other clubs, so students don't feel bored. The theater club, the NSS club, and the NCC club.

M.A. in Limbu - Batch of 2024
4.6
4Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
A Great Value for Those Committed to Preserving Limbu Language.
Placements: The main focus of Sikkim University M.A. course in Limbu is on academic progress, not on direct placement. About 30-40% of this course's students go for further studies after completion; some of them pursue a Ph.D. in Limbu Language, an assistant professor posting, or a B.Ed. to be qualified enough to teach in government schools, especially PGT Limbu Language.
Infrastructure: Presently, Sikkim University is housed at Yangang, South Sikkim, for the M.A. course in Limbu as the whole university is in the process of shifting from its main campus at Gangtok. The infrastructural setup includes a well-equipped classroom and a library with all the basic resources, but not as elaborate as bigger varieties. Hostel facility is provided with basic amenities available. The food in the mess is not bad; there is a variation of meals, but it might not cater to the taste of every single person.
Faculty: The faculty of M.A. in Limbu at Sikkim University is fully qualified and experienced in the field of Limbu language and culture. They have been said to be friendly and cooperative, hence making it easier to build up an appropriate learning environment. The syllabus is also well-structured, focusing on making students proficient in the language and ready for their academic or teaching careers. The examinations are moderately challenging, designed to probe both theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge. The pass percentage is generally high, reflecting the effectiveness of the teaching methods and how well matched the curriculum is with the career goals of the students.
Other: The deep connection to cultural heritage and the fact that the Limbu language is reserved and promoted are reasons this course in M.A. Limbu has been chosen. The knowledgeable faculty and focused curriculum in preparing students both for academic and teaching careers would be a strong point of the course. The course needs an aftertouch in providing diverse career opportunities by enhancing links in the industry. The university could still do better by improving infrastructure and adding more extracurricular activities to further enhance the student experience.

The best university of my life, Sikkim University.
Placements: I will have completed my Masters in Physics from Sikkim University in 2024. About 10% of a batch of 50 students were placed. The package was in the range of 4-6 LPA. The top recruiters were coaching centres like Aakash, Physics Wallah, and Bansal. About 10% of the students got internships, which included paid internships in different countries such as Taiwan and China. A Masters in Physics opened multiple opportunities for the students to pursue their careers in different fields, such as research work, teaching professions, and engineering.
Infrastructure: The hostels are really good, and some old hostels are bad. Hostel rooms have two beds, a chair, a study table, almirah, fans, no AC. There are also washing machines and dryers on every floor. Mess food is average. They serve food 4 times a day, and the menu keeps changing every day and every week. They offer fruits, eggs, milk, bread, and other things also. Hostel registration is done along with academic registration only.
Faculty: I want to become a faculty of botany, so I chose the Masters in Botany course for my higher studies. The curriculum prepares students to gain good knowledge about the subject to deliver the knowledge to other students after completion. However, it would be more beneficial if some NET/SLET-based guidance was provided along with the course.

It does not totally make a person ready for the industry, and the infrastructure is good.
Placements: There were 40 students in each course and we also had 40 students. There are no recruiting companies for our course; they are only for degrees, and further studies have to be done. We don't get internships in our college, and we don't work for the companies while studying in this course. There are no top roles offered.
Infrastructure: There are labs and Wi-Fi, but Wi-Fi has limited connectivity with only limited data that could be used, and the classrooms were nice but not fully digital, and the library is good. The quality of food in the college canteen is fine, and there is no mess or medical facilities; we have an ambulance provided by the government, and for the sports, there are fewer sports.
Faculty: Teachers were fully qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality was also good. The course is relevant, but it doesn't make us fully ready for the industry because we have to go for the studies after this as well. Semester exams are difficult in college, and the minimum past percentage is 45% in major subjects.
Other: I chose this course because I am from bio background and I like this course. The thing that should be better in this course is that the major subjects should be taught from the beginning of the semester. There are events, fests, campus, crowd connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarships, extra curricular activities, etc.

Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get Sikkim University, MBA with 88% in CUET-PG?

A:

While it's impossible to definitively say whether you can get into Sikkim University's MBA programme with an 88% in CUET-PG, it's certainly a very good score that puts you in a strong position for admission. However, several factors influence the final decision:

1. Cut-off:

Unfortunately, Sikkim University hasn't released the official cut-off scores for the 2024 session yet. These scores depend on various factors like the total number of applicants, programme capacity, and difficulty level of the entrance exam.

While we don't have the confirmed cut-off for this year, looking at previous years can give you some idea. In 2023, the cut-off for MBA at Sikkim University ranged from 29 - 32.01% depending on the category. With an 88%, you significantly exceed that range.

2. Overall Selection Process:

While the CUET-PG score holds substantial weightage, it's not the sole factor. Your performance in the Group Discussion (20%) and Personal Interview (10%) also plays a role. Strong performance in these rounds can further strengthen your application.

3. Other Applicants:

The competition for admission depends on the pool of other applicants and their scores. Even with a high score, there's no guarantee if you'll secure a seat, especially if the competition is fierce.

Therefore, your 88% in CUET-PG puts you in an excellent position for admission.

Stay updated for the official cut-off announcement by regularly checking the Sikkim University website.

Prepare well for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview as they contribute significantly to your final selection.
