This college provides great infrastructure and teachers, but the administration is not good.
Placements: This college offers no job placements, it just attempts at making students skillful enough so that they get work and they won't get any package, recruitment, or internships from this college. But students can do a lot on their own if they utilised the extensive library, film screenings, film projects, practical modules, and classes well.
Infrastructure: It has one of the best infrastructures in India, but it is not well maintained and not even used to its full potential and Wi-Fi. The boys' hostel is not provided. It also provides a great library, and for sports, there are two table tennis courts. The food is average, but the medical facility is not available.
Faculty: The direction, editing, and audiography department are good, and many teachers, unlike the cinematography department in which all burden is on one teacher who also is not good at what they do, but students get good guest faculty members for workshops, and they will need to make good use of them. The course curriculum is relevant, and the basic theory remains the same for filmmaking. It makes students industry-ready. Mostly the exams are practical, and students will have to do film projects and some theory exams.
Other: I chose cinematography, because I was always fascinated by the use of light and color in films, and the meaning the visuals embody within them. The institute does not have a well-planned, structured course, and students do not have a detailed syllabus. But it is average, students have some hardworking and experienced teachers. The fee structure is good. The fests and campus crowd are good, students will get all sorts of people, perspectives, and conversations.

It is an institute with a lot of potential chained by bureaucrats.
Placements: Our batch of 2019 film and television initially had a total of 56 students, but as we progressed to the 2nd and 3rd semesters, a lot of students discontinued the course. Currently, there are 36 students in our batch. There is no internship in our college, at least for our department. Students find jobs on their own.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms are fully equipped with air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. We have a common library in the design department with a wide range of books. It also has a common canteen which provides decent food at reasonable rates. There is a badminton court, a table tennis court and a volleyball court in our college.
Faculty: Most of our professors are FTII pass-outs. Faculty members are pretty good at teaching, but they themselves feel exhausted because of the lack of faculty members. They make students industry-ready in the time span of 4 to 5 years. Exams are basically our projects. We are marked on our projects. There is no pass percentage.
Other: Our batch only consists of the students who want to make a film, and that is a very good thing. I have chosen this course because it is a 4-years graduation course with specialisation in cinematography. A course of this nature cannot be found everywhere. I think what needs to be improved is the way things are run in our department. It is 2021, but our norms and budget makers were still living in 2011. A lot of repairing needs to be done in our department like our lights need new bulbs which are just not being purchased by the college for a very long time now. There is an event or two happening now and then in SUPVA.
