Symbiosis International (Deemed University) Bangalore, also known as SIU Bangalore, is a private university that was established in 2002 in Electronic City. It is one of the campuses of SIU Pune. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is accredited with an “A” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The Bangalore campus has two constituent institutes, namely Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) and Symbiosis School of Media & Communication (SSMC). The University offers MBA programme in various specialisations across its constituent institutes. It also offers an opportunity to its students or faculty to study at Lavale campus through the Symbiosis Summer School (SSS) programme.

Not only this, but the University has also signed MoUs with several international universities or schools for joint research, faculty development, student exchange and summer school programmes. Some of the collaborations are given below:

The University comprises several committees or boards for various academic activities. Some of the committees or boards include Board of Management, Planning & Monitoring Board, Finance Committee, Fee Structure Committee, University Sports Board, among others. It also has a Symbiosis Centre for European Studies (SCES) which offers international opportunities to the students through its connections with Europe. SIU Bangalore Admission Process

The University offers admission to Indian as well as international students. The international admissions are taken care of by Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE). SIU Bangalore admissions are conducted under the guidance of SIU Pune. Candidates, who meet the given eligibility criteria, need to apply online through the official website SIU Pune. The course-wise eligibility details are mentioned below:

Admission to MBA programme is based on SNAP scores
Executive MBA admissions are done on merit basis
Candidates, who have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, can apply for any of the programmes
Final selection of MBA students is based on the SNAP scores and their performance in Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT)
Final selection of students for Executive MBA is based on the scores obtained in graduation and their performance in PIWAT

The University has an overall intake of more than 250 students. Out of these, some of the seats are reserved for SC, ST, PwD category and international students. Below mentioned is the category-wise SIU Bangalore reservation criteria:

SIU Bangalore Courses

Presently, the University offers MBA in nine different specialisations across its constituent institutes. Apart from the full-time MBA programme, it also offers an Executive MBA under SIBM. The duration of both the programmes is two years each. The classes for full-time MBA programme are conducted regularly, whereas classes for Executive MBA are conducted only on weekends. SIU Bangalore Scholarships

SIU Bangalore offers various scholarships on merit and needs-basis. Candidates, who are eligible for the scholarships, need to fill an application form through the official website of SIU Pune to apply for any of the scholarships. Details regarding SIU Bangalore scholarships are given below:

MBA Scholarship for IIT Graduates: Students, who have completed their bachelor’s degree from IITs and have appeared for SNAP, are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is given to only five students from IITs. Candidates can get a tuition fee waiver of 20 per cent under this scholarship.
University Sports Scholarship: The national, international, state and intervarsity-level players are awarded with a scholarship of Rs 24,000. This scholarship is given to five students every year.
PG Merit Scholarship: Students, who have secured a minimum GPA of 7.50 in a semester, are eligible for this scholarship. Candidates can avail 50 per cent tuition fee waiver under this scholarship.
NER Scholarship for North-East Region students: Students, who belong to the North-East region and have appeared for SET/ SNAP or any other entrance exam conducted by SIU, are eligible for this scholarship. General category students must have secured at least 50 per cent aggregate in Class 12, whereas SC/ ST students need to secure at least 45 per cent aggregate in Class 12 to apply for this scholarship.

It is the best college for MBA students.

Placements: 100% students were placed. FMCG, BFSI, and some manufacturing companies visited our college campus per year. The highest package offered was 34.26 LPA. The average package offered was 20.14 LPA. The normal package offered was 14.37 LPA, and all students were selected for the job.

Infrastructure: SIBM Bengaluru is a hill paradise. The campus is really a paradise, surrounded by greenery, and it feels like natural beauty. Many Bollywood movies are shot at SIBM Bengaluru. The hostel is also nice. There are double, triple, and quadruple sharing rooms with attached washrooms.

Faculty: Symbiosis Institute teachers are really helpful and guide us in every step of our journey. Since the teachers themselves come from an industrial background, they give us great examples from the industry as well. The course curriculum is really good.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is fantastic. The teaching with advanced equipment and technology is very good. All necessary equipment is available for the practical learning of students. Libraries and classrooms are fully air-conditioned. Proper facilities are available.

Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive, and the syllabus is also very relevant. The experience, knowledge, and professionalism of faculty members are impressive. The teaching methods of faculty members are superb. They help and support every student who needs help.

The college campus area is very less it ends before it starts .

Placements: Placements offered by the college are zero the type of internship they provide is useless you have to urself approach the companies and you urself have to make link and contacts with the people who can provide you with internship as on campus companies which do come don't give that type of internship to students.

Infrastructure: Do have library and mess and canteen and medical facilities and sports and games also go on side by side with studies, the food provided by the college is far better than what other colleges provide. Cafeteria with different supplies. Wi-Fi is also provided both in campus as well in hostel .

Faculty: The exams are held twice in a semester one is mid term which is of 20 marks and semester final which is of 40 marks of our batch 40 marks internal and 60 marks external cgp matters alot of u want to stand for any club or committee head or even for president or vice president.

Our college needs improvement in teaching skills.

Placements: The top roles offered were in investment banking, IT product management, consulting, and credit risk analysis. Major companies were from IT, banking space, and mutual fund industry like SBI MF and HDFC MF. Top major auto companies like Tata Motors and Maruti also came for finance roles.

Infrastructure: Food quality was okay, and sports facilities were there with multiple options. Many students come at the same time for tennis for which the space was limited. If coordinated well everyone can enjoy some sports, else there will be a lot of chaos.

Faculty: Teachers were not knowledgeable enough as compared to a similar level of IIM. Few teachers were keen to make students understand the project with real-life case studies and assignments. While most of the teachers didn't bother if students are listening to them or not.

Other: Extracurricular activities are held in our college.

It is the best college for MBA students where students can gain knowledge.

Placements: Around 60% of students are placed. This college is good at communication skills, because for MBA students communication skills are most important. Flipkart, Amazon, Wipro, Cognizant, and Accenture are the top recruiting companies. Around 70% of students got internships in Flipkart, and the role offered is a business analyst.

Infrastructure: Students are MBA, so they didn't have any laboratory. The library is excellent and classrooms having digital board, and Wi-Fi is also available 24X7. The hostel is very good like 3-star hotel-type rooms, and food is very good, taste, and of good quality. Sports are also provided in this college.

Faculty: Teachers are polite and very helpful. Even they will ask in the lecture if students are clear or not. This course makes the students ready for their work and is helpful in business. IT is based on student's learning skill, and most students don't read the books they just follow the lectures and give exams. The exams are tough for freshers.

Other: I opted for this course, because of my father. I took business analytics in MBA after joining and its key role is playing the market. I want to improve my presentations because, I am not able to present good content in the presentation so, I am want to improve for writing good content. The fests and events are held every month, and scholarships are also available based on their entrance test marks.

Satisfied by good faculty and goof surroundings.

Placements: Approximately 95%people got placed in top companies with the highest package been 800000 and average package been 500000. internships were provided by the college before placements. Jobs were offered for domains like marketing, business analysis, human resource and finance.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the hostel is to good being provided with clean rooms four sharing with personal B.Ed chair and study table along with the balcony. Classrooms are well maintained. The quality of food in hostel meets is really good along with canteen in college with goof medical ans sports facilities.

Faculty: The teaching quality and education quality is really good. The course curriculum is relevant it really helps us getting industry ready. The semester exams are quite average like if u study u do well mostly 90% of students get pass easily. Therefore its not that difficult.

Other: I chose BBA coz it has scope plus I have interest in corporate world. One annual fest happens every year along with festival celebrations. Knowledgeable events keep happening every week. Plus visits to different colleges and stay keep happening in IIM Bangalore, christ university etc.
