Q:   Is B.Com at UniPune a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:
* Good faculty members who are knowledgeable, helpful, and experienced
* Relevant and industry-ready course curriculum
* High-quality teaching quality with good explanations
* Good infrastructure and facilities, including Wi-Fi, labs, and libraries
* Availability of scholarships and financial aid
* Opportunities for internships and placements
* Strong sense of community and campus life

Cons:
* Poor placement record (around 20%-40%)
* Limited job opportunities after graduation
* Average salary package (INR 2-4 LPA)
* Few companies visit the campus for recruitment

Overall, while UniPune may not offer excellent placement records, it seems to excel in terms of academic reputation, faculty quality, and campus resources. However, students should carefully weigh these factors against their individual career goals and expectations.

It's essential to note that individual experiences may vary, and some students might have successful careers despite the challenges mentioned above. For those who prioritize academic excellence and are willing to explore additional opportunities outside of campus recruitment, UniPune could still be a suitable choice.

Recommendation: Consider weighing the pros and cons carefully and conducting thorough research on the university's strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, reach out to current students, faculty, or alumni to gain a deeper understanding of the programme and its outcomes.

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com programs at UniPune?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com Programs at UniPune

Unfortunately, the information gathered suggests that the placement cell at UniPune has been ineffective for B.Com programs. According to one student's statement:

* "There was no active placement cell for the students."

This sentiment is echoed across multiple statements, indicating that there seems to be a lack of effort from the college to facilitate placements for its B.Com students.

Here is a summary of the key points:

* No active placement cell: None of the reviewed statements mention a functional placement cell for B.Com students, implying that the college may not be actively working towards securing jobs for its students.

Note: This answer focuses exclusively on the placement cell aspect and does not address other aspects of the university.

Bachelor of commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2027
Offered by MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College

Satisfied only with the faculty members else everything needs to be improved.
Placements: Placement opportunities for MIT ACSC graduates are not very good. Out of all the students who went for placement, only 2-3 students got placed, with an average salary of 3.5 Lacs per annum. The highest salary offered was 4.5 Lacs. Also, only a few companies like Delloite and HDFC Bank were among the big recruiters, and they did not select any B.Com students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college needs to be renovated, as there are cracks all around the building. The library is good, with books and journals related to every topic. The hostel is not on campus but rather 700 meters away, and the facilities are not as good as promised in the prospectus. They charge INR 80,000 per year just for a room and a lift, and most of the lifts get stuck. Also, they say they provide laundry services, but after paying the amount, we found out that they just give you the number of a laundry person to whom we have to pay money.
Faculty: The faculty for the B.Com course are great. They are always available to help with any small thing, and they take the time to explain things clearly. However, they give assignments 10 days before the semester exams, which doesn't give students enough time to study for the exams.
Other: I attended MIT ACSC. The campus is very small, and there is no playground or other areas for students to enjoy themselves. There is a good canteen that serves good food, but that is about it.

B.Com. In Costing & Business Administration - Batch of 2025
Offered by Ahmednagar College
2.4
2Placements2Infrastructure2Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
This college is good for someone with a more extracurricular life and if you want to enjoy college.
Placements: Very few students were actually placed in B.Com. It's very hard to bag them; usually people are here if they are financially struggling and want graduation. I have usually seen companies from places like Nagpur and Satara come for hiring. Not very highly reputed. It would be much less likely that a big company is coming.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and libraries are very old-fashioned or can be said to be very Sarkari school type. Infrastructure is old and dusty. We do have Wi-Fi on the whole campus. But nowhere to sit. The canteen has okay food. Basically, the campus is very wide, but the infrastructure is poor.
Faculty: The teaching quality can differ, though the teachers have this Marathi accent, which I am not a big fan of. They do try hard, but they always end up saying the students don't attend the classes. I mean, you gotta be interactive. The exams are quite easy. We are allowed to cheat.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to grow in the finance field. The best thing about my course is it doesn't stress me out, as I have other things to do too. I am very much comfortable picking 2 courses with my ongoing college because the college doesn't care; actually, you just have to be able to give assignments on time. My course can be improved with good teaching methods and teachers. The events and activities have been increased a bit suddenly, topped off by the fact that I don't know the reason, though maybe the beginning excitement was to encourage students to come to college.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Kannada Sangha's Kaveri College of Science and Commerce
2.8
2Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Review of Kannada Sangha's Kaveri College of Science and Commerce.
Placements: About 7 to 9 final year students were placed out of about 50 who appeared for interviews. They had an average package of about 5 LPA. The highest package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. Top roles offered in my course are junior accountants.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility; however, classrooms are adequate. Facilities like a computer lab, library, and reading room for students are available. An elevator is present, but it is generally not for students, though exceptions may be made for medical conditions. The canteen does not offer a variety of items.
Faculty: All teaching staff are good, qualified for their posts, and knowledgeable. Teachers teach with a great deal of patience. They possess expertise and good knowledge of their subjects. Exams are held as per SPPU guidelines. The pass percentage of my course is 95%.
Other: The course provides basic knowledge of commerce and can create a base for students. There must be critical thinking-based subjects rather than mugging up types. Our college does not hold big events etc. But it surely does try to keep its students engaged in small activities.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2027
Offered by Symbiosis College of Arts & Commerce, Pune
4.6

Satisfied of the Quality of Education.
Placements: Around 34% of the students were placed with the highest package being 21 LPA and an average of 5.3 LPA. Recruiters included Deloitte, KPMG, Duetsche Bank, Aditya Birla Group, and Federal Bank, offering roles like financial analyst, auditor, and consultant. The college provides a very strong support system for internships and placements through workshops, mock interviews, and skill training.
Infrastructure: Spacious and well-equipped classrooms, reading hall, library with digital access to journals, and well-maintained computer labs as well as the gym are very functional. Hostel is available but limited. Canteen offers affordable and nutritious meals. A first aid and healthcare center is also available.
Faculty: Highly trained and supportive faculty, great teaching quality from experienced teachers, and a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with industry requirements to prepare students for real-world challenges. Semester exams are moderately difficult with a good pass percentage.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Sinhgad College of Science
5
5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
It is a very good college.
Placements: Around 85% of students got placed in the previous year's batch. The average salary package offered is 15 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Delloite, Accenture, Infosys, TCS, Mahindra, NBFCs, etc. Top roles offered are HR, sales manager, and accounts manager.
Infrastructure: The hostel and canteen are good in Sinhgad Institute. Rooms are excellent. We get Wi-Fi support. There is a library which is open 24/7. There is a gym and grounds, a swimming pool, and a free clinic for students. There are many excellent amenities. The most exciting part of the college is its Sinhgad Springs Festival.
Faculty: Our teachers are great, helpful, qualified, and very knowledgeable. The teaching is very good. They use very interactive methods to teach which helps to understand the topic very easily. The course is relevant and makes students industry-ready. The difficulty of semester exams in college depends on students. All that matters is to study and it's 100% difficult.
Other: I want to do B.Com. Our college should introduce new types of B.Com in a field where students get real-life experience in top companies and learn many different things which can help them level up. There are many events held in the college. Some of them are Sinhgad Springs Festival, Sinhgad Corandak, Annual Sports Day, and other sponsored programs for Radio Mirchi.

An good college for students doing CA exam preparation.
Placements: Placement are not offered by college. The students have to apply through external sources for job in Bachelor of Commerce. College need to focus on Placement department. Not a single student were placed from in Bachelor of Commerce department which was very unlikely.
Infrastructure: The classroom are vertically big and horizontally small has the room have capacity of 80 students at a time. Library computer lab is provide to students. Some classes also have smart board for teaching or representing power point presentations in class.
Faculty: Teaching staff is quite good has they are high qualified Ph.D. holders they help students to understand better. Course also consists of gst course and tally course has a extra curriculum activity. Exam are quite tough to pass no cheating is allowed while giving exams.
Other: I was good with numbers so I choose Bachelor of Commerce course because it helped me to solve accounting problems and sums easily.

At SPPU, it is not possible to get promoted directly to the second year if you have backlogs in the first year called AKTK. But in case you have cleared those backlogs or are clearing them before the beginning of the second year, it is possible to go for the second year.
