Q:   Is B.Com at UniPune a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:
* Good faculty members who are knowledgeable, helpful, and experienced
* Relevant and industry-ready course curriculum
* High-quality teaching quality with good explanations
* Good infrastructure and facilities, including Wi-Fi, labs, and libraries
* Availability of scholarships and financial aid
* Opportunities for internships and placements
* Strong sense of community and campus life

Cons:
* Poor placement record (around 20%-40%)
* Limited job opportunities after graduation
* Average salary package (INR 2-4 LPA)
* Few companies visit the campus for recruitment

Overall, while UniPune may not offer excellent placement records, it seems to excel in terms of academic reputation, faculty quality, and campus resources. However, students should carefully weigh these factors against their individual career goals and expectations.

It's essential to note that individual experiences may vary, and some students might have successful careers despite the challenges mentioned above. For those who prioritize academic excellence and are willing to explore additional opportunities outside of campus recruitment, UniPune could still be a suitable choice.

Recommendation: Consider weighing the pros and cons carefully and conducting thorough research on the university's strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, reach out to current students, faculty, or alumni to gain a deeper understanding of the programme and its outcomes.

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com programs at UniPune?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com Programs at UniPune

Unfortunately, the information gathered suggests that the placement cell at UniPune has been ineffective for B.Com programs. According to one student's statement:

* "There was no active placement cell for the students."

This sentiment is echoed across multiple statements, indicating that there seems to be a lack of effort from the college to facilitate placements for its B.Com students.

Here is a summary of the key points:

* No active placement cell: None of the reviewed statements mention a functional placement cell for B.Com students, implying that the college may not be actively working towards securing jobs for its students.

Note: This answer focuses exclusively on the placement cell aspect and does not address other aspects of the university.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2026

Totally satisfied with the opportunities provided by this college to students.
Placements: More than 9,000 students have been placed through this college. The highest salary package offered is 70 LPA. The average salary package offered is about 4 LPA. Students are placed in big companies like Wipro, Microsoft, Google, etc. Students are also placed in foreign companies from our college at high package.
Infrastructure: For B.Com in our college, we have 2 sections with 60 students each. Each classroom has free Wi-Fi which can be accessed by only students by filling in details (username, roll number). We also have our own library where only books related to our course are available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful to their students. They are highly qualified professionals. They have a minimum experience of 8 years of teaching and are highly experienced. This course has subjects like company law and entrepreneurship development, which makes students totally industry-ready. Final exams are at moderate level. Pass percentage is 91% of this college which is good.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to become a financial consultant. Discipline I wish would be better. Events and fests are conducted every year with a new theme. There are 10,000 students studying in this college. College provides scholarships to students who are eligible.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Ness Wadia College of Commerce
3.2

Satisfied because of the amenities and facilities provided by the Ness Wadia College of Commerce.
Placements: Out of 100%, only 8 to 10% of students were placed by the placement cell. The highest package offered was 400,000, while the lowest package was 2.5 lakhs. Companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Ola recruited candidates. Roles offered in the course were mostly in the accounts department, marketing, and costing department.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is now way too old, making it inconvenient for students. The classrooms feel like a village for the Bachelor of Commerce. The whole building does not have proper toilets, so male students need to visit other branches such as BBA or engineering for toilets.
Faculty: Teachers in the college are highly qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their teaching standards are quite good, but the way of teaching is too old; not much presentation or digitalization is made by them. Semester exams are not of the college; they are of the university. Most probably, according to me, 40 to 50% of students pass overall in all subjects in the semester exams.
Other: The college should improve the infrastructure and provide meals and washrooms for the Bachelor of Commerce degree in the same building. Other toilets also should be clean and hygienic. The annual fest held in the college for the Bachelor of Commerce is called Infinity. It is quite a good and entertaining fest; students can participate in various kinds of events for the coordinators of the event and many other programs.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Kannada Sangha's Kaveri College of Science and Commerce
2.8
2Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Review of Kannada Sangha's Kaveri College of Science and Commerce.
Placements: About 7 to 9 final year students were placed out of about 50 who appeared for interviews. They had an average package of about 5 LPA. The highest package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. Top roles offered in my course are junior accountants.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility; however, classrooms are adequate. Facilities like a computer lab, library, and reading room for students are available. An elevator is present, but it is generally not for students, though exceptions may be made for medical conditions. The canteen does not offer a variety of items.
Faculty: All teaching staff are good, qualified for their posts, and knowledgeable. Teachers teach with a great deal of patience. They possess expertise and good knowledge of their subjects. Exams are held as per SPPU guidelines. The pass percentage of my course is 95%.
Other: The course provides basic knowledge of commerce and can create a base for students. There must be critical thinking-based subjects rather than mugging up types. Our college does not hold big events etc. But it surely does try to keep its students engaged in small activities.

From last year’s placements, they are not good; hence, I am dissatisfied with my college.
Placements: Only 30% to 45% of my students were placed. The average package offered in my college was 1.5 to 3 LPA. Companies like Cognizant, capgemini etc. Only 5% of my students. Roles like manager, accountant, and colorist.are offered in my course.
Infrastructure: In my college, there are so many computers with Wi-Fi. Proper classrooms with blackboards and benches. The library has lots of books which are useful for learning accounting. The quality of food is good and of different varieties. Medical facilities are also good. The hostel arranges different sports and games on occasion.
Faculty: Well, the teaching staff has high experience, but they don't make students level with getting a good job. They don't give proper knowledge. Semester exams are connected to the university. So difficult level is high. The passing percentage is low, that is, only 60% to 75%.
Other: As this course has low computation, the best thing is that it has lots of opportunities. I am so much satisfied with this course, hence I haven't any wish for that would be better. The college campus crowd is high, but the quality of function is not better. All scholarships are applicable to my college students.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2024
Offered by Vishwakarma College of Arts Commerce and Science

To sum everything up the college is kind of above average.
Placements: The percentage of the of the students place in my department is quite high compared to other colleges here in Pune. The highest package was around 34LPA and the lowest was 7LPA Infosys and TCS The percentage in my department B.Com is 67% though the number changed when it comes to the engineering department, which is 87% (approximately) Top roles offered are of employees and HR's and many friends of mine got the job of an accountant as well, and I personally believe that the reputation of my college helped quite a lot.
Infrastructure: The facilities and the infrastructure are quite average, to be honest. The washrooms are almost always dirty and smelly but that's only about the 1st floor and not all the floors. However, the quality of the facilities apart from the building (library, canteen, ground) is pretty well maintained and well sanitized as well.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful and cooperate with the students on any matter, be it personal or work, related they are always there to help. Yes, my course B.Com is very relevant to the real world. In fact, all the subjects are related to real-world works, for example, FOB which stands for fundamentals of banking, teaches us everything about banks and how to use their services in the best way possible. The semester exams according to me are pretty easy, and the passing percentage is the standard 40%.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in accountancy and I wanted to learn and explore more about it. The best things about my course are how practical it is and how easily it can be studied Honesty, nothing because it's pretty easy and useful. The only downside according to me is that the crowd of our college is divided in 2 parts, one being kind of below average people, and one being sophisticated and decent people, the connectivity however is great and scholarships are pretty good too.

An good college for students doing CA exam preparation.
Placements: Placement are not offered by college. The students have to apply through external sources for job in Bachelor of Commerce. College need to focus on Placement department. Not a single student were placed from in Bachelor of Commerce department which was very unlikely.
Infrastructure: The classroom are vertically big and horizontally small has the room have capacity of 80 students at a time. Library computer lab is provide to students. Some classes also have smart board for teaching or representing power point presentations in class.
Faculty: Teaching staff is quite good has they are high qualified Ph.D. holders they help students to understand better. Course also consists of gst course and tally course has a extra curriculum activity. Exam are quite tough to pass no cheating is allowed while giving exams.
Other: I was good with numbers so I choose Bachelor of Commerce course because it helped me to solve accounting problems and sums easily.
