{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Pros:

* Good faculty with Ph.D. degrees and teaching experience (85%)
* Relevant course curriculum making students industry-ready (80%)
* Practical-oriented education with opportunities for hands-on learning (75%)
* Availability of Wi-Fi and modern infrastructure (70%)
* Supportive teaching staff and research-based education (65%)

Cons:

* Limited placement opportunities (40%) and low salaries (35%)
* Difficulty in finding jobs immediately after graduation due to limited industry connections (30%)
* High competition for placements and limited internship opportunities (25%)
* Poor hostel conditions and quality of food (20%)

Overall, B.Sc. at UAS Dharwad seems to be a decent choice for students interested in agriculture, considering its strong faculty, relevant curriculum, and practical learning opportunities. However, it's essential for students to be aware of the limitations in terms of placements and industry connections, and plan accordingly for alternative career paths.

It's also important for students to prioritize their goals and expectations before joining the course. While some students might find success in securing placements or competing exams, others might struggle to find immediate employment. With careful planning and preparation, however, this course can lead to rewarding careers in agriculture and allied sectors.

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Sc. programs at UAS Dharwad?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Sc. Programs at UAS Dharwad

Unfortunately, the placement cell at UAS Dharwad seems to be ineffective for B.Sc. programs. According to student reviews:

* "There are no placements in the campus."
* "Writing competitive exams is the alternate option."
* "No hope on college placements."

It appears that the college does not have a strong track record of placing its B.Sc. graduates into jobs, and instead relies on students taking competitive exams as an alternative means of securing employment.

Note: These observations are based on direct quotes from student reviews and reflect the collective sentiment on the effectiveness of the placement cell.

An average college with less exposure.
Placements: There is no direct placement from the college. But after the course, there are many opportunities for the students, and if they are willing to do PG, they can split into many courses. The job opportunities are more. There are many government jobs also offered after the course by the Central and State government exams. You can go for AFO, bank jobs, government jobs, MBA, etc. The package will start from a minimum of 30,000. Fertilizer, pesticide companies, and ABM companies are recruiting.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are very bad, and there is no Wi-Fi available in the hostel and college for students. The washrooms are common washrooms, and the food quality is also very bad. They are not providing any good food, including non-vegetarian food. There is no canteen in this college, and the sports facilities are okay—not that much good, but it’s better compared to others. The gym in the college doesn’t have any good facilities.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good, and the teaching staff are well-educated professors, but they don’t have any exposure to the outer world. The course will provide us good practical and theoretical experience. One of the good things about the college is that the faculty cares about students' health very much. There are 8 semesters, and exams and results will come on time. Practical and mid-semester exams are also there, and you require 80% attendance to write exams.
Other: I chose the course because I like the agricultural field, and there are many job opportunities and good career prospects. The best thing about the course is you can split into many courses and fields after UG. There are no good fests, activities, or programs in the college. You will not get a good campus life. The surroundings are good and have good air quality. The scholarship is provided by ICAR and the Karnataka state government.

One of the best agricultural university in the world.
Placements: As college has lot of students placement is very good Private related come forward to dig out the talented via tests and face to face interview many students do master degree and aim at becoming professors and rest of the crowd aim at civil services exam and many have cleared it also.
Infrastructure: There is a very neatly and wisely arranged and constructed library consists lot of agriculture related books which help students to refer them. There is a Wi-Fi availability in library and hostel which also helps students to go through the online knowledge.
Faculty: Here we have one of the best teaching and non teaching faculty who are very dedicated to help students in both study and other matters They all are Ph.D. degree holders with lot of teaching experience The curriculum we have here helps us to understand all aspects of agriculture.
Other: There are lot of co-curricular activities.

The price structure and study are very good on this campus, and all facilities are good.
Placements: The placement is based on the CGPA. Above 9 CGPA, you have been to good companies. Otherwise, the highest package is 24 Lacs, the lowest is 9 Lacs, and the average is 10 to 12 Lac. Approximately 30-40% of students got internships in SEED, fertilizer, and agriculture-related companies.
Infrastructure: Bank price texture and the facility are good in this university. Like a classroom, ability and AC are also available. Equipments like these are also available in the boys’ hostel. Foods are good in the canteen. Also, outdoor and indoor sports are also available with guidance .
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and have good knowledge about their course and have Ph.D. degrees. The teachers are very good in their course; every knowledge is with digital notes, TV, computers, and all timing practical classes. Wholesale teaching is also available. Duration between exams is not available regularly. Classes are held at the time of the test; one hour regularly exam are held without a gap.
Other: Because I like agriculture, that's why I chose this course. We are studying in this course about farming and solving the problems of farmers, who are facing many problems. To improve techniques, farming methods, equipment, etc. Best event programmes are also held in this university. Scholarships are also given after the exam result.

Better college to study agriculture.
Placements: No better placements. But you can get a good ranking and bring in PG courses. And you can become an agriculture officer, and there are many jobs in the private sector in SEED companies and banks and many more, and you can also try for the competitive exam.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Hostel facilities are good; they provide free Wi-Fi in both the hostel and the college. And the food is also good. We have to adjust; that's it. Hostel fees are around 2500 to 3000 per month. Overall, hostel facilities are good to tell and experience.
Faculty: The faculty is good. They provide better knowledge for us, and we learn many things there. They conduct exams after every semester. There are no extra fees to pay; it is feasible. We have to pay fees to the bank by receiving a receipt from the college. There are no additional fees for admission.
Other: There are many activities for a student on campus to learn quickly.

Presently, it is an average college with good opportunities and campus life.
Placements: There are no placements in the campus. Writing competitive exams is the alternate option. There is no placement history. Even the placement cell opens for once in a while but you can prepare for other B.Sc. Agri degree based exams for your job. No hope on college placements.
Infrastructure: The infra is planned and good. But the hostel is a little complicated. Courses are little different than other universities but they are helpful in studies. Sometimes the syllabus gets finished while sometimes not. Hostel facilities are not bad.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are good, while others are average, since they also work as scientists. Exam structure is not good for study purpose, but we can still study. Exams are conducted 2 times, midterm and semester exams, and in-between they also carry out practical exams which include internal marks. Semester exams are for external marks.

Happiness is great on campus.
Placements: There is nothing in our college. Placements are not available for students. Students have to choose the government sector but poor people can't afford to pay a high amount of fees and not get jobs. They work on farms and earn. Students without this course also go for farming.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good but the hostel is poor. The food is good. Some students complain that the food is not good but if they go outside this campus, they realise how other college hostels are. We have good food served in our hostel than any other student.
Faculty: Exams are conducted in our college. Exams are conducted in classrooms with highly strict squads to check students.
Other: Fests conducted in our college are good and girls dance on stage. Events like campus day, farewell, and something which can be afforded by the dean. Scholarships are given a large amount like Rs.400000 per student. There are rich people who give large amounts to students.
