Q:   Which branch of B.Tech has more placements at UEM Kolkata?

    A:

Computer Science Engineering (CSE): This field is in line with the growth of technology, with a high demand for graduates with strong programming skills and knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning. UEM Kolkata offers knowledge like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning or Internet of Things & Cyber ??Security in CSE, making its graduates more competitive.
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE): This branch deals with basic electronics concepts and has a wide range of applications in various industries. Demand for skilled workers in areas such as telecommunications, embedded systems and VLSI systems remains strong.
Electrical Engineering (EE): This is another well-established branch with a wide range of career opportunities in power generation, transmission, distribution, automation and electrical equipment manufacturing though it may not be as rigorous as CSE or ECE in the current tech-centric environment though, that’s still a solid option.

I wouldn't say that I'm absolutely dissatisfied, but yes, I'm happy with this college.
Placements: As per this year, 1 student got 7 job offers, 2 students got 3 job offers, and many others got many other offers. In case of placement, our college brings many sales companies, but I think we can get better opportunities like TCS, Wipro, Infosys. The main reason behind it is our area is a bit village-type, so recruiters don't visit often.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are overall good, including mess food, which is quite tasty and clean. They provide good connection like Wi-Fi in hostel floors and academic buildings too. We have got canteen facilities as well. The day scholars of our college can have their lunch in the canteen.
Faculty: The faculty members are available 24/7. The best thing about this college is the library; the infrastructure is too good. And yes, many teachers are very knowledgeable and qualified with a Ph.D. degree, but on the other hand, many are not. The semester exams are quite tough because these days our exam papers come from IIT.
Other: I've chosen this course because of my interest in technical courses. I'm a student of B.Tech core. We have got labs and other facilities, and overall it is good. Sometimes the teacher fails in completing the syllabus that is in our exam; this is the only thing not acceptable. Other than that, it's good. We also get many international seminars, tech fests, freshers, etc.

    Uem Jaipur-my journey till now.
Placements: Roles like tech and non-tech are available on campus. Some companies conduct 3-4 rounds of interviews for tech profiles, which also include coding rounds. Many students opt for studies abroad after passing out. The average package is 5 LPA, with the top being 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good. I really like my hostel; the rooms are spacious, with privacy for both 2-seater and 3-seater options. It is indeed one of the best hostels. Also, individual fans are provided for all. There are good labs with all facilities available, and Wi-Fi is also accessible.
Faculty: When you are enrolled, a mentor is assigned to you. You can ask them your queries. There is 1 mentor for every 8-10 students. You can share your concerns with them. Many teachers stay on campus, which helps you to communicate with them easily. Semester exams are manageable; study well before the exams.

This college is not worth it to join.
Placements: Placement scenario is very poor, only 1-2 tech companies give actual joining after selecting. Major companies are from sales, many of the placements are off-campus, which are shared by the college. The average package is 3 LPA, that too in sales, so not recommended.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is okay, initially that was also very poor, now at least good to some extent. Only the best place is the library where you can go to study, and it's open 24 by 7. You can also get good internet in the library. Mess food is not that good, they make food too spicy, and after complaining to higher authority, only 1 day, normal food is given.
Faculty: Majority of good teachers are leaving the college because of not getting enough opportunities here. Only a few good teachers are left here. Course curriculum is based on the government exams, not for placement exams. Also, semester exams are not that difficult, can be cleared in 1 week.

    Reviewing UEM.
Placements: Average package is 3-4 LPA, people will tell in double digits and all, but in campus is between 3-4 LPA. , also few offers goes till 6.5-7 LPA, many students opt for higher studies like MBA, or goes to foreign as well. Companies like kreeti, aaklan visit campus.
Infrastructure: Food is not that good, like sometimes its hygienic as well, but there are many options available, also labs are good with AC and projector, well-equipped. Library is open all night, you can study well peaceful without any disturbances, sports is also there.
Faculty: Semester exams are not that much difficult, study before exams, take help from class crores and you can score good marks easily. Teachers stay in campus only, you can ask doubts easily and seek help from them, course curriculum is well designed and helpful for gov exams.

About my own college UEM Jaipur.
Placements: The percentage of students placed varies between 60-70 percent. Most companies recruit for tech profiles like ASE, SDE, and cloud, but there are non-tech profiles as well. However, to crack dream packages, you will have to put in your own effort. The highest on-campus package varies between 6-7 LPA, with the average being 3-4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is good with a good amount of speed and stability. The mess food is also decent, but the best part is the hostel rooms and the library. The library is open 24/7 with a good number of books and is a good place to study. There are also sports like cricket and football.
Faculty: The faculty are good. You will have a mentor allotted to you, whom you can ask anytime you face an issue. Semester exams are not that tough; you can score well by studying days before the exam and by collecting notes and references. The course curriculum is designed well.

My college experience at UEM Jaipur.
Placements: Placements are decent with an average package of 4 LPA; you need to put in your own efforts to get a good package. The lowest package can be anything. There are many companies offering sales roles; please don't opt for them, as it's scary. Also, don't sign more than a 2-year bond. Internships are not there; you have to hustle yourself.
Infrastructure: Libraries are the most important and calmest places in UEM. You can come and study at night as they are open 24*7. Also, classrooms and labs are well-equipped with good AC support. Hostel food is also good; it's edible at least, not as bad as you hear from many college messes.
Faculty: Teachers are there to guide you, but you have to take initiative yourself; only then will you get assistance. Semester exams are easy; you can easily get above 8.5 SGPA by studying a week before exams. The pass percentage is above 5 SGPA; it's very easy to qualify.
