B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2027

One of the best engineering colleges in Odisha.
Placements: On average, 70%-80% of students get placed each year. In 2023, the highest salary package placement was 47.38 LPA, the average salary package was 6.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package was 3.36 LPA. A total of 79 companies visited, and 839 students were placed. Internships are offered at ISRO, NVIDIA, Tata Steel, Google, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are decent. Labs and the library are impressive. Hostel cleanliness is properly maintained. Food quality is also good, except in a few hostels, as it depends on the tender. Sports events are frequent, aside from the annual sports. Sports clubs are also present.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and intelligent, with decent degrees. Some even have degrees from well-known IITs. Of course, students are industry-ready. Exams are challenging and easy to pass, but scoring a good grade is difficult. The pass percentage is about 80%.
Other: I chose Computer Science because it is an in-demand course, and my college offers decent placements. Events, fests, and clubs are amazing. I think the theory should be reduced, with more focus on knowledge gaining.

College is good, but hostel one can come here if not any NITs.
Placements: Around 90% of students get placed in companies, with an average salary package of 5 LPA. It's a decent college for technical education, comparable to IITs in classes. Most core companies visit this college. It's a good college and but it is very strict about classes and academics.
Infrastructure: Currently, we are not getting Wi-Fi facilities, but some hostels provide it. Labs are quite good. Classes are also decent. The canteen is good, but the mess food is horrible. The mess is not good at all; it is not eatable. Sports and games are available, but students won't have time to play. If we do, it will highly affect their academics.
Faculty: Some teachers are good, while others are beyond my expectations. This is college, so we have to study everything on our own. It is quite difficult to score good marks in exams because there is no time for self-study. The only thing they have time for is assignments.

Veer surendra sai university of technology.
Placements: The placement condition is moderate, with IT, CSE, MME, and ME branches having the highest number of placement opportunities. Prominent recruiting companies include Delloitte, Capegemini, LnT, ABG, Adani, Reliance, Tata, JSW, Maruti, Hyundai, and other similar companies. However, branches like civil and chemical have fewer of these opportunities.
Infrastructure: The quality of the hostel facilities is commendable, with a total of 8 boys' hostels and 5 girls' hostels accommodating students from various academic years. The hostel offers four meals a day, including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Additionally, there are canteens and shops available on the premises, along with 24-hour Wi-Fi access.
Faculty: The faculty members at the university are highly skilled and knowledgeable. In addition to regular faculty, guest faculty members and Ph.D. students also contribute to the teaching process. The labs are well-equipped and have both faculty and lab assistants to assist students. The semester exams are challenging but manageable, allowing students to achieve a good CGPA. However, it is worth noting that the faculty members may not be as friendly and supportive as desired.

M.Tech. in Power System Engineering - Batch of 2026

It is the best government college in engineering.
Placements: Placements are quite good. The average salary package offered on the M.Tech course is 4.8 LPA. Companies like Havells, V Guard, Tata Power, etc., visit our college. Tata Power is the top recruiter. The highest salary package offered is 6.2 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. It has CCTV security. There are separate hostels for B.Tech and M.Tech students. Hostels have two-seated rooms. They are spacious. The library is good. All types of technology books and magazines are available. Our canteen food is average. Classrooms are good and spacious. Labs are spacious and have all the chemical apparatus used in industry. There is a cricket ground, a volleyball court, a football ground, and a basketball court for outdoor games. For indoor games, there is an indoor stadium.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are highly qualified and experienced. They all have done their postgraduates. Faculty members use simple languages which is easy to understand. They clear our doubts on the campus or after the class. The course curriculum is very hard. There are 8 subjects in each semester. There are two semesters in a year. Each semester has two sessional exams which are conducted by the college.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2027

Value for money in B.Tech (VSSUT).
Placements: As there are various branches in VSSUT, a good number of companies approached the students. The average package of VSSUT is 6 LPA. Branches like Mechanical and Civil get good placements here. The lowest package is nearly 4 Lacs, and the highest last year was 48 LPA. Mainly, students from my domain, Electronics and Telecommunication, went for internships at companies like Tata Steel, Jindal Steel Plant, CTTC training, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite average at VSSUT. As it is a college established nearly 70 years ago, some of its equipment is from older generations, and classrooms are also not air-conditioned. But students will never get bored of college. The library is available from 9 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday. Wi-Fi is also available on campus. Hostel facilities are good, with 3-4 students staying in a room. Bathrooms are always cleaned, and the food provided in the hostel is also above average. Canteens are available in every hostel. Sports facilities are also available on campus, such as cricket, football, hockey, badminton, kabaddi, chess, etc. There is an official sports society, and students also go out of state to compete in various programs.
Faculty: The course curriculum in the college is very well defined and fully structured for students. Faculty members are friendly in nature; they always encourage questions and provide information about new things. For research activities, VSSUT is also good. Many Ph.D. scholars now work as professors in NITs and IITs. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it makes students industry-ready in 4 years of graduation. Semester exams are conducted twice a year, and there are also two midterms. In midterms, the questions are set so that every student can attempt them, and in the end-semester exams, it actually tests the students' capabilities.
Other: My personal interest is in this electronics domain. The best thing is that it gives versatility, allowing us to go into the core domain and also into the circuit domain. It gives us full freedom. There is one cultural fest, VASSUNT, and one technical fest, SAMAVESH, held every year at VSSUT. Also, department-wise, every year an annual function is conducted. Campus life is above average at VSSUT. You can explore natural scenic beauty places near Hirakud (dam), waterfalls, and temples. There are nearly 20 clubs and societies at VSSUT, including technical and cultural clubs like the Drama Club (EMOTICA), Dance Club (VIBRANZ), Music Club (SOULS), Writing Club (LITSOC), and technical clubs like IEEE, Robotics, E-Cell, IDEA Innovation Club, and many more.

Good for core enthusiasts.
Placements: The placements at my college are average. Despite what they say on their website and in person, the placements are mediocre at best. Last year, the best placements were in metallurgy and core branches, with an average package of 9-11 LPA. Non-core companies offered very low salaries, averaging 4-5.5 LPA. Students who found jobs on their own should give credit to the college for providing the resources to help them succeed.
Infrastructure: The labs have new equipment, but they are not using it; instead, they are using all the old equipment. A new building is under construction, and most academic activities will move there, so perhaps they will start using the new equipment then. As for the hostels, only one is new (Agastya Boys HOR); the others are old and have poor hygiene facilities. The food is mediocre, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work in some hostels. The classrooms are good and equipped with smart boards.
Faculty: The faculty in some branches are helpful and good, but in others the environment is toxic. Exams are conducted on time with a high level of strictness. However, the syllabus for non-core branches needs to be updated and reviewed, as it is outdated and doesn't help students get placed in good companies. Students have to take time out of academics to study the syllabus, rather than it being included in the course itself.
