Our college has good facilities, and the food provided by the mess is also good.
Placements: Almost 90% of the students are placed in companies like TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, Byjus, Infosys, Dxc Technology, and many more companies. Software engineer, software trainer, system engineer, and a lot of job roles are provided. Most students from the IT department got internships in college. It is also provided by the DDD department from the college.
Infrastructure: In our college, we have a central library, and Wi-Fi service is also available on campus and hostel. Classrooms have projectors for smart teaching. Our hostel mess serves daily chicken in different varieties and different types of dishes too. Cdio is available for research work. Research internship is also provided by the college.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are not much great, and most of the faculty members are arrogant, don't have the knowledge, and are showing rude behavior toward students. They don't have enough knowledge to teach students. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry. Students can easily find jobs. Pass percentage in our college is 50% and semester exams for our college are medium level.
Other: Our college fest Lavaza is conducted every year.

I am satisfied with the course and facilities provided by the college.
Placements: I am not sure about placements, but I think none of the companies visited for M.Tech placements. Data is also not available here. Students are offered with roles like industrial safety engineers, officers, etc. I have no idea about an internship, but I think students got it everywhere.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good, and it includes all the facilities that students need. Hostel canteens and college canteens services offered by the management are awesome and hygiene. College gives us a good medical facility. The campus is covered with Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Teaching quality is very nice. Faculty members are very helpful and supportive, but I found very few of them are rude. The course curriculum is designed in a manner so that every student will be industry-ready if they have some focus on studies with other activities.
Other: I have chosen this course because of its future scope in India. Our course helps me to know about safety and its rules and regulations, which is important in our day to day life. Our college mostly hosts all kinds of events in which a large number of students and faculty members participate based on their own interest.

The college has good infrastructure and in improving condition. The college is not worth the money.
Placements: In 2017, about 30% of the students got the placements. The industry stream has huge fees that result in no-surety of 100% placements. Initially, the placements were around 85-90% for our seniors. Later, they drastically came down. Companies for IC engine industry come for the placements. The placements are carried out in ARAI Pune division.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are equipped with air-conditioners. They charge a huge amount for the Blazers having the Vel-Tech symbol, which we cannot use it after the college. The M.Tech students need to take to carry out the industry work. This results in the reduction of the interest of students towards going to the lab, sports, etc. Even the permission is not granted easily, and the time will be wasted on such things. The food provided in the hostel and canteen is of normal quality (edible). They will not allow the students to play on the ground without the permission of the mentor. We are not allowed to enter the laboratories without the permission of the lab-in charge.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are well-qualified and gives the knowledge of the subject in depth. Some of the remaining faculty are waste, and they prepare their research paper from us and submit with their name. Such habits are carried out which reduces the interest in the subject. The course curriculum is waste. Non-practical approach was present in the syllabus. New subjects like hybrid and electric vehicles are kept as electives, which are not provided by any faculty.
Other: No fests and events will be carried out in the college. Only the anniversary of the Dr RR and Dr SR college celebrates the international conference named IDAD. Gatherings are generally carried out during the birthday of the owners. The college is not at all interested in benefiting the students to improve their career. The campus crowd has French students, Ethiopian students, and other countries students. The campus surroundings are under repair and construction for the whole year. Extracurricular activities and industrial visits are not at all entertained.

Veltech is not as good as it seems.
Placements: Since I was enrolled for an industry stream course, the placement at ARAI Pune in the second year was great. But as far as Veltech is concerned, the state of placements was very poor. Right now, I only remember one company that came for MTech IC engines batch and that too was not directly related to IC Engines. The average package at ARAI was around 6 LPA and the maximum was 10.32 LPA(offered by ARAI). The minimum package was some 3.45 LPS offered by TCS.
Infrastructure: Labs and all are well-equipped. The only problem is with the faculty members that have to take those practical sessions. At Veltech, there are labs set up by DRDO for bearing tests at high speeds. Also, there is an engine testing lab with testing equipment given by ARAI. Overall, as far as labs are concerned, Veltech is quite good. But, on the other hand, these days such facilities in a college are not a rare sight. I have seen many colleges that are not that high in rankings but still, they have good labs. The problem is always unavailability of expert faculty members who can help students make the most out of those labs.
Faculty: Faculty members as people were nice but as teachers lack quite a lot of skills. Apart from 4 teachers I remember as of now, everyone at my time there was MTech. It means an MTech was teaching and MTech. It was like me teaching the next batch because they did not have any industrial experience and some were just pass outs. Overall, the faculty members were not good. I don't want to say that because there were 3 teachers that were among the best teachers that I had ever but still, because a bad fish can spoil the entire pond, I have to write it that way.
Other: Veltech life for students is very hectic. First of all, they don't have proper faculty members. Secondly, students have to be in the college premises from morning 8:30 to evening 4:30 or so (I don't remember now). I remember sleeping throughout the day in the classroom because I was not allowed to go home and the faculty member assigned said that you are free to do whatever you want. This happened every day for the second semester. Some faculty members would tell us to make excuses for them like they are in a meeting, if someone comes and asks that why the classes are not going on. Comparing this with life at ARAI, is comparing north to south. ARAI faculty members knew what they were talking about and always encouraged us to do something practical rather than just reading. We were given tasks that we could complete anywhere (not necessarily ARAI campus) and submit when it was done. We interacted with industry professionals almost every day. And since ARAI is a testing agency itself, we were familiarised to state of the art testing facilities and equipment. Overall, I would say that ARAI needs to reconsider its choice of college for collaboration with Veltech. It is just not worth it. Someone should try to change the mind of the management and tell them to at least consider giving freedom to students. Such teaching models are not rare too. Just go a few hundred km from Veltech and look at a student's life at Vellore Institute of Technology.

Other: It is a really good university but they need to increase the facilities. There is a lot of strictness in the college which is a negative aspect according to me. The college also needs to improve the canteen facility. The atmosphere of the campus is very friendly.

Other: The college is located in outskirts of Chennai. But the trust has spent a huge amount building the infrastructure, they have tried there level best to provide all the facilities to the student. The college has good infrastructure with many labs but there is the lack of access. Talking about the faculty, it is experienced for B.Tech but for Masters program faculty is not good. To the Industry linked stream students no attention is paid. There is a placement cell in the campus which is meant to give placement assistance to students, but only few could actually get any help. The good thing about the university is its link up with the foreign university. It sends its students abroad in student exchange program, but that too on students expense. If you really aim to learn something during your masters, and you can do it on your own with least interference from faculty then I suggest you join this course.

Yes. Veltech High Tech was initially affiliated with the University of Madras. In 2001, the affiliation was shifted to Anna University. From 2008 onwards, it was recognized as a deemed-to-be university. However, Veltech High Tech is still affiliated with Anna University.
