B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture - Batch of 2024

Bad placements right now.
Placements: No one from our batch was placed. One company, PI Industry, came for placement, but the number of vacancies was too low, and only three students were placed, and they were PG and Ph.D. students. So, from a placement point of view, this is not a good college for students looking for a job after graduation.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided at our institute are very good, and the infrastructure is remarkable. All classrooms are air-conditioned. When I was a student, the hostel facilities were not good, but now new students are allotted to another hostel with better infrastructure and facilities.
Faculty: The teachers here are very helpful and polite. The quality of teaching is excellent, and they are very helpful and friendly during practical field classes. The curriculum is well-designed and relevant to future research work at the M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels. The semesters are quite manageable if you follow the class notes.
Other: I've always wanted to do research on agriculture because I come from an agricultural family. I've enjoyed the course very much, especially the hands-on learning in the field and with farmers. There are events held almost every month, and the campus life is great, especially the natural setting.

Students are getting proper facilities at this college.
Placements: A decent number of students get placed in our course. Around 30% of the students get placements in B.A. Chinese at this college. The average package offered was 3–4 LPA. Most of the students get placements in the research and scholarly fields. The college is focused on the betterment of the students.
Infrastructure: Viva Bharati University has a good infrastructure for our course. The college offers various facilities to the students, such as Wi-Fi, library, canteen, hostel, etc. The college also promotes sports by conducting various sports activities for the students. Hostel facilities were given to the students. The food was good to eat at the hostel mess.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers at the college were knowledgeable and well-qualified. The teaching quality was satisfactory. The course curriculum was relevant. Teachers have a good grasp on their respective subjects and support students in gaining good knowledge. Exams can be easily passed.

Glimpses of Viva Bharati Bolpur Shantiniketan.
Placements: Placement at Viva Bharati is not so much developed. In the Department of Geography, Vidya Bhavan, placement does not take place as it is a B.A. course, so there is no placement for geography students. Somehow in other departments like Vinay Bhavan, which is the sports and education department, placement happens with the least package.
Infrastructure: In the Department of Geography, the facilities of Wi-Fi and labs are very much good and well developed. The classrooms are well furnished and air-conditioned. The library and the overall institute are good, and the library is very much better. In the department, there is a seminar hall, and the ex-building is our own Padma Bhavan, which also includes the Department of Geography, Department of History, Department of Ancient History, and Department of English.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful in nature, and curricular activities like seminars happen regularly (e.g., there are professors who take us to Japan, the US, and many more) just to increase the students' mindset. Exams are also organized regularly as it is a home university, so the exams are conducted at our university itself.
Other: The campus life of this university is very much different from other universities as it is located in Shantiniketan, Bolpur, West Bengal. There is a rich culture of its own; it has its own heritage culture, and this university has been recognized by UNESCO as the world's living heritage complex and university. It plays an important role in India. It is also a central university. The cost of living and the cost of study are also very much affordable as there is a hostel for living. The departments are very near the hostel, so it might take 5 to 10 minutes to walk there.

Infrastructure: In this college, the infrastructure is good. There is Wi-Fi available and the classrooms are neat and clean. There is a central library available and the quality of the food in the hostel is good. There is a medical facility available and there is a very big area for sports.
Faculty: The college faculty is very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable and their teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes the students ready for future. The passing percentage is above 80% and the semester exams are challenging but fair.
