Q:   How are B.Sc placements at West Bengal State University?

    A:

West Bengal State University (WBSU) in Barasat unfolds a mixed narrative when it comes to placements, as indicated by a review assigning it a placement rating of 5.8/10. Delving into the specifics of B.Sc placements at WBSU, the scenario unveils a nuanced landscape. Approximately 10–15% of students find their footing in placements, reflecting both challenges and opportunities in the employment arena.

In terms of salary packages, there's a spectrum at play. The highest offered package stands at an impressive 45 LPA, while the average hovers around 25 LPA, showcasing a range of opportunities for students. However, the lowest reported package is 15 LPA, suggesting a diverse array of outcomes.

WBSU's list of recruiting companies includes some industry heavyweights such as Accenture, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Aircel, Nicco Ventures, SRF Ltd., Larsen and Toubro, Tatwa, and Limtex. These established names provide a glimpse into the breadth of opportunities available to WBSU graduates.

To further bolster the employability of its students, WBSU takes a proactive step by offering free 80-hour English Lab Training to 80 students. This initiative underscores the university's commitment to equipping students with not only academic knowledge but also the essential skills needed in the professional arena.

However, the narrative takes a turn with the assertion that recruiters might harbor skepticism, particularly for lateral placements. This sentiment highlights a perception challenge that the university may need to address to enhance the confidence of recruiters in considering WBSU graduates for mid-career opportunities.

In essence, while WBSU presents a mosaic of placement scenarios, addressing concerns around lateral placements could be a key focus area to enhance the overall employability reputation of the university.

Very underrated college, absolutely satisfied because of faculty and Departments.
Placements: I am pursuing a B.Sc. in Economics from this college. I am currently a semester 3 student, passing year 2027, as it is a 4 year multidisciplinary program. Oncampus placement is not good, below average. They provide internships, as internships are mandatory for the course.
Infrastructure: The Economics department is very supportive; they care about students. Classrooms are average, the library is very rich in sources, and laboratories are good. The canteen is average, has a small menu, and the price and taste are satisfactory. The college ground is big and wellmaintained.
Faculty: The teachers in my department are very helpful and qualified. They care for the students and help them in every possible way they can. The curriculum is good, and they are trying to add more education policies to make students industry ready. Semester exams are pretty tough; you really have to study hard if you want a good percentage.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, good placements in 2024.
Placements: In our college, 10 percentage of students are placed. This course only offers the graduation degree, not other extra facilities for jobs or placement. There is no such type of recruiting facilities available in any company. Practical learned only in college lab, no internship facility available.
Infrastructure: Course facilities are quite impressive, not perfect, but all practicals are performed dedicatedly and equipment is managed and available properly. The library of our college is well-managed and has a good stock of books. Hostels are not present in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are dedicated and very helpful if students show interest in study and learning. This course gives the basic knowledge of the industry but does not make them very expert in their work. Semester exams are a little difficult. The pass percentage is 50 percent.
Other: I chose it because I was interested in paramedicals. If students, management, and teachers show some more interest in the dull students, then it can be better. Events and festivals are gracefully managed in our college.

My college is the best. Its safety and infrastructure are very good.
Placements: 60 percent of students were placed in our course. The highest package offered was 40000. the lowest was 15000 and the average package was 10000. 50 percent of students get internships from our course. The top recruiting company was achieved by our course. The top roles offered in our course are always good characters to maintain in your life .
Infrastructure: 1. Our departmental classroom is big and good, and the library is better for our college students because tons of books are there. 2. A big college canteen with tasty food is there. 3. The main things are having a medical room for all college students, and every year our college principal arranges annual sports on our college grounds. So, the college infrastructure is too good.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good. The second semester exam is most difficult, with very hard questions. Pass percentage is 5.67. Our teachers always help us in that moment. Our departmental teacher is highly qualified and has been awarded gold. So every teacher is very knowledgeable.
Other: I love geography. The best things are excursions. Morphology chapters improve the course. All is well in my college .

    Barasat Government College review.
Placements: This college doesn't offer any placement. But this college helps to build our career to achieve a placement and job. The college provides many webinars that help students build their careers and help to build our careers in agriculture, forestry and botany fields.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available anywhere in the college. The college library has good enough books for students. Classrooms are good enough. Labs are cleaned and good enough. This college has a small canteen and the food quality is quite good and this college has a small playground with a badminton ground. And college doesn't provide any hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are very good enough and they are very helpful for students with their knowledge and experience. Professors are well qualified. This course helps students learn about agricultural industries and it helps students learn about flora and forestry. Semester exams are not too difficult and the percentage of students is about 75-90%.
Other: This college organizes a festival every year. Any kind of government. Scholarships are available at the college. This college has NCC, NSS and a science club.

classrooms and labs have really good infrastructure
Placements: The college isn't good as they didn't have dedicated placement cell, companies also rarely visit to recruit students. Previous year, only Dabur visit the campus to select only Food and Nutrition Department students. As the new NEP rules, some government organization proposed internships but that's also not beneficial.
Infrastructure: College location is good as you easily get auto and bus from the station. College labs are good with all the equipment needed, classrooms are also clean. Dedicated water cooler, hall room, library and canteen also available. College campus has wifi and the teachers are also very kind.
Faculty: The teachers are good, kind and very very helpful. They help us regarding our practical exam, projects, educational tour or excursion etc. This Zoology course help us to gain more knowledge about the animals, their behavior, habits etc and is perfect for me as I always wanted to study about the animal behavior.
Other: I wanted go study about the animal behavior that's why I pursue this course.

Teachers and infrastructure faculty are so average.
Placements: There is no placement in my college. It is the lowest-placed course, with the average package offered being very low. There are no recruitment companies associated with my course. My college does not offer master's degrees, Ph.D. degrees, or any other diplomas, which is why no internships are included.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and faculty are poor. Technical issues arise frequently, and there are not enough computer facilities. There is no hostel in my college because the space is very narrow. The canteen is very small, with a scarcity of hygiene. The food quality is poor, and they do not maintain freshness and hygienic practices in the canteen.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in my department, but I have no idea about all the teachers in the college. Teaching quality is average, and teachers can't fulfill the syllabus before exams. The semester exam question papers are average in difficulty, and there is no much difficulty if you study honestly about your course subjects. The pass percentage to pass the exam is a minimum of 30%.
Other: Barasat University's faculty is average, and the university's working activities are very slow. There is a long delay in announcing semester results and placement facilities.
