The CBSE syllabus 2020 for class 10th, 12th is available on the official website of CBSE.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released an official notification regarding the syllabus to be followed for the upcoming CBSE Board Exam 2020. According to the notification, the CBSE will follow the CBSE Syllabus prescribed by the board for the upcoming board exams. The clarification arises in the wake of confusion among the students regarding the syllabus to follow- CBSE Board syllabus or NCERT textbooks. In this regard, the board has clarified that students are to follow only CBSE prescribed books as a part of syllabus and question papers will be set in accordance with it.

Cause of confusion

Earlier, CBSE had directed affiliated schools to start using NCERT books as a part of the teaching and learning process. Following this, CBSE schools started using the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) books for Class 9, 10, 11, and 12 for all major subjects. A few sections in these books have sections that say that they are not for examination or assessment purposes. This led to confusion among the students regarding whether they should study these sections for the exam preparation. Now, with CBSE issuing the notification, it is clear that these sections will be part of the official syllabus and questions will be asked from these sections in the upcoming exams as well.
