Christ College Bangalore, established in 1969, was renamed Christ University in 2008 after it was granted deemed-to-be-university status by the UGC. It is one of the first institutions in India to be accredited by the NAAC in 1998. Currently, it enjoys NAAC accreditation of grade A.
