Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation, DU adopted the OBE exam as a one-time measure for the final year regular, School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) students of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Delhi University Open Book Exam 2020: Four days after the commencement of open book exam (OBE) for final year students, the Delhi University on August 13 issued an official press statement stating that the exam is being conducted successfully and a large number of students appeared and submitted their answer scripts. While there are media reports surfacing all over the internet claiming that the students are facing problems while connecting and uploading answer sheets. The statement issued by DU is telling the opposite story. There are several reports claiming that the University received answer sheets from non-registered sources as well.
Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation, DU adopted the OBE exam as a one-time measure for the final year regular, School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) students of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Despite received severe criticism and backlash from a majority of students and teachers, DU decided to go on with the open book exam.
“In the last four days, students have successfully attempted and submitted their answer scripts on the OBE portal of DU. Some of our students, who at present are in remote/ far-flung areas have submitted their answer scripts via the option of email available to them. Students with special needs have also been given the option to send answer scripts by email,” the press release issued by DU said.
The official statement further added, “Cumulative data shows that the number of papers attempted by regular, NCWEB students and SOL is 110085 and 154142, respectively while the answer scripts submitted by regular, NCWEB students and SOL students are 82496 and 108846 respectively on the OBE portal.”
