Q: What is the eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS programme at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre?

A: To be eligible for admission to MBBS programme at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, the applicant must have a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in Class 12 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics.

Candidate must complete the age of 17 years on or before December 31 of the year of admission to the MBBS course.

Q: Can you briefly tell us the admission process and selection criteria?

A: As a part of the admission process, the candidate must have a valid score in NEET exam. Aspiring candidates can register themselves for Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) counselling session which is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). NEET 2020 is scheduled for September 13.

The selections are done on the basis of rank scored in the NEET exam. The students are given choices to select the college of their choice. There they can choose SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. There is no management quota.

Q: What is the eligibility criteria for lateral entry to SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre?

A: The Institute offers lateral entry to students, who have passed the Diploma programme from recognised by government/private university or institution recognised by state/Central governments fulfilling the conditions specified. These students are eligible to take admission on lateral entry only if the same subjects have been studied at Diploma level.

Q: What is the total cost of the MBBS programme?

A: The cost of the MBBS programme at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is Rs 22.5 lakh per annum.

Q: Do you offer any placement assistance to students?

A: There are no placements in the programme but to give students exposure to the practical hospital environment, we offer them internship opportunities SRM Hospital.
