IGNOU PhD programme admission 2020 will conclude on March 23. The IGNOU PhD entrance test will be conducted on April 29.
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the online application process for PhD Programme admissions for July 2020 session. The selection of the candidates will be based on an entrance test and interview or presentation. The university has begun the application process online and will conclude the same on March 23, 2020. The IGNOU PhD entrance test will be conducted on April 29, 2020, and the university will release the result for the entrance test on May 8, 2020 (tentative date).
IGNOU PhD Programme Admission 2020: Eligibility
Interested applicants must have a master’s degree with at least 55 percent marks in a relevant discipline. Candidates securing at least 50% marks in the Entrance Test (45% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layers) / Differently abled persons) will be considered shortlisted for the interview in order of merit subject to the maximum limit of five times of the available seats. 70% weightage will be given to the Entrance Test and 30% weightage will be given to interview/viva-voce.
IGNOU PhD Programme: Application Process
Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the PhD Entrance Test through the official website of IGNOU i.e. 'ignouexams.nta.nic.in'. The application fee for the general category candidates is Rs 1,000. The application fees for SC, ST, EWS category candidates is Rs 800.
IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam: Syllabus
PhD Entrance Test syllabus will be as per the ‘University Grants Commission Regulations, 2016'. The exam will consist of questions related to 50% of Research methodology, and 50% subject-specific. There will be a total of 100 objective type questions. No negative marking will be done for wrong answers.
