During the IIT Madras 2017 cutoff, the Last Round closing ranks ranged between 177 and 6345 for the General AII India category students. As per the data given below, BTech in CSE was the most competitive specialisation with closing ranks of 171 and 177 for Round 1 and the Last Round, respectively. IIT Madras Cutoff 2017 For OBC All India Category 

For the OBC category students, the Last Round closing ranks ranged between 80 and 2658, among which CSE was the most competitive course. As compared to the General AI category, completion was tough for OBC category students to get admission to the CSE course at IIT Madras in 2017. The Round 1 and the Last Round closing rank for BTech in CSE was 80 for the OBC AI category candidates. For the rest of the BTech courses, candidates can refer to the table below: 

Q:   What has been the trend for cut-off for B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering at IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology in last few years?

The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 3259. In 2022, it increased to 3881. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 1584 to 1666 for OBC, 961 to 1248 for SC, 558 to 500 for ST, 610 to 862 for EWS, 86 to 165 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

Q:   How much JEE Advanced cutoff is required for IIT Madras BTech in CSE admission?

A:

The JEE Advanced 2023 cutoff for Round 6 at IIT Madras has been released. During the IIT Madras cutoff 2023, the Round 1 and the last round clsoing cutoff rank were 144 and 148, respectively for the BTech in Computer Science and Engineering course. During the IIT Madras cutoff 2022, the last round cutoff was closed at 175 for the General All India category students. In 2021, IIT Madras JEE Advanced last round cutoff was 163. So, analysis the three year cutoff data for IIT Madras BTech in CSE, candidates seeking admission to this course must secure a rank between 140 and 150. 

 

Q:   What is the opening and closing rank for Integrated BTech + M.Tech in Engineering Design (Automotive Engineering) at IIT Madras?

The opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, opening rank was 5365 and closing rank was 5374. The cutoffs are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 8323 and 8618. As per the IIT Madras Last Round cutoff 2017, the competition for the CSE course was exceptionally tough in 2017 among all the engineering aspirants. CSE had the lowest cutoff of 54, followed by Computer Science and Engineering(Dual Degree) with 76 and Electrical Engineering with a closing cutoff of 216.
