During the IIT Madras BTech cutoff 2024, Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics were identified as the most desirable BTech specialisations among the students belonging to the General AI quota. The first and last-round Jee Advanced last-round closing ranks for CSE stood at 159. For AI & Data Analytics, the round 1 and the last-round ranks were 415 and 419, respectively. In contrast to the most desirable courses, Electrical Engineering and Engineering Physics stood as the less competitive specialisations for students who were not eligible to take admission to CSE or AI. Among the OBC All India quota, the JEE Advanced cutoffs for IIT Madras in 2024 indicated strong competition for BTech, with ranks ranging from 82 to 3364 in the last round. IIT Madras cutoff 2023 was concluded after the release of Round 6 of the Engineering Advanced Seat Allotment Result. As per the IIT Madras JEE Advanced cutoff 2024, BTec in CSE was the most challenging to secure for the SC AII India category students. In 2024, the first and last-round closing ranks for admission to the Computer Science and Engineering course stood at 65 and 72, respectively. Taking the last-round cutoff 2024 into consideration, the JEE Advanced cutoffs were more competitive for the EWS category students as compared to the General and OBC category students for BTech admission in 2024. CSE was the most desirable BTech specialisation with first and last-round closing ranks of 41 and 42, respectively. The second most competitive course was Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, followed by Electrical Engineering with a closing cutoff of 104 and 178, respectively.
