Q: Can you briefly tell us the admission process and selection criteria?

A: The admission process at SK Somaiya College includes three broad stages:

• Online application form:As a part of the admission process, all aspiring candidates need to first fill-up the online application form by paying a nominal fee of Rs 1,000. Students applying for more than one programme must fill up different forms. This online application form will secure a provisional seat for the student about which the student will be communicated via email. The selection is at University’s discretion
• Fee deposit: The students who have been offered the provisional seat need to deposit the initial fee amount of Rs 25,000 as per stipulated admission schedule to secure the same
• Admission confirmation: Provisional admission needs to be confirmed within five working days of declaration of qualifying exam result

The admission at SK Somaiya College is offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Q: What is the cost of the post-graduate programmes in Science and Technology domain? Do you also offer any scholarships or financial assistance to students?

A: Yes. SK Somaiya College is known for its quality internship and 100 per cent placements record for the past 10 years.

The fourth semester of every MSc specialisation has been dedicated for an internship programme to give students corporate exposure. Various research organisations such as NEERI, TERI, Johnson & Johnson and BARC participate every year in both internship and placement season and give bright career opportunities to our students.

For students of Polymer, we have Reliance Industries, Clariant Chemicals, Gharda Chemicals, Kansai Nerolac, Hembond Chemicals, Supreme Petrocham and Asian Paints vising our campus for placements.

Talking of the last placement season, we have witnessed the highest package of Rs 6.6 lakh per annum and the average package of Rs 2.3 lakh per annum.
