SNU Hosts Samman Ceremony for Distinguished Personalities

February 25, 2020: Sister Nivedita University Samman, a tradition that honours most important personalities from diverse backgrounds and their outstanding achievement, was organised to mark the Management Day celebration. University invited prominent dignitaries such as IAS officer and Managing Director, HIDCO Debasish Sen Founder and Chairman, Bandhan Bank A C Chakraborti, Dr Subir Chatterjee and Chandra Sekhar Ghosh to felicitate them for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields.

Also, the University organised a discussion on ‘Winning in the Digital Age’. The speaker panel included dignitaries from various backgrounds such as VP and GM—Eastern Region, TCS Suresh Menon, Professor Indranil Bose from Institute of Management, Calcutta, Professor Saikat Maitra, MAKAUT, President, Business Development Preeyam Budhia from Patton Group and Director SNU Santanu Ray. In this session, the audience, especially the students who appreciated this rich experience, were introduced new ideas for success in this digital era

University Inaugurates School of International Languages

February 22, 2020: On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Sister Nivedita University inaugurated the School of International Languages. The school has been started considering the globalisation and evolution of trade across international borders. This has increased the demand of professionals who can fluently speak other foreign languages. The courses offered will be Japnese, Chinese, French, Spanish, German and Esperanto.

Students who have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in any discipline and from any recognised board are eligible to apply. The duration of the course will be 100 hours that will have to be covered within six months. The total cost of the programme will be Rs 7,500, inclusive of application fee.

A Discussion on Sustainable Development with Sugata Hazra

January 16, 2020: University invited Director of School of Oceanographic Studies, Kolkata, Sugata Hazra and Director of Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, University of East Anglia, Robert Nicholls to facilitate a discussion on sustainable development and its importance in future. Students across all the disciplines actively participated in the session. Climate change has been a significant issue in a democratic country such as India and how the media should lead to make it a significant goal to inspire people to work for sustainable development to benefit every individual and human community in general.

The goals such as zero hunger, no poverty, good health and well being, quality education, clean environment and healthy work culture can only be achieved if the youth of the country unites and work towards it.
