WWI Collaborates With Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation to Document The Making of Mumbai Metro 3 in 360-Degree Virtual Reality

February 9, 2021: Whistling Woods International (WWI) has recently entered into an arrangement with Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) to advance the cause of emerging media content and virtual reality cinema (VR). This is yet another significant landmark in Whistling Woods International's roadmap to immersive entertainment, immersive content education and the development of India's first generation of Cinematic VR filmmakers.

What began as an academic experiment in 360VR, a once-in-a-lifetime case in the development of the Mumbai Metro Three Line, has now become a formal industry-academic commitment. WWI will partner with MMRC to create around a dozen short videos in 360 Virtual Reality depicting 'Make Mumbai Metro 3' in 360deg Virtual Reality and presenting it to future generations in all its immersive glory.

"We are delighted that the WWI Institute is collaborating with us on this initiative. Mumbai Metro is one of the biggest infrastructure schemes ever undertaken in Mumbai. It would revolutionise mobility in the region and make it possible for people to commute on a regular basis. With the assistance of WWI, we are delighted to capture the full breadth of this endeavor through the Virtual Reality network," said Ranjit Singh Deol, IAS, Managing Director, MMRC, at the signing ceremony.

Whistling Woods International Celebrates Cinema in a Three-Day Virtual Knowledge Festival

December 1, 2020: To upkeep the morale of its students, Asia’s premier film, communication, and creative arts institute Whistling Woods International celebrated its three-day annual event virtually this year between November 26-28, 2020. The theme of the event was ‘Celebrating Cinema 2020’. Due to the unparalleled times, WWI vowed to donate all the profits from the sale of Celebrate Cinema 2020 tickets for the well-being of Covid-19 warriors.

As the three-day festival of interactive masterclasses, celebrity panel discussions and seminars unfolded, there was no lack of passion and curiosity for all those involved. Participants obtained unique perspectives into every area of the television and film industries over the course of these activities.

The event started with a panel discussion facilitated by influential figures such as actors AahanaKumra and Shashank Arora, actor-director Divyang Thakkar, editor Nitin Baid, creative producer Maharrsh Shah, and director AratiKadav, who stressed the importance of structured film and media education, which helped them in their respective career journeys. These sessions covered several aspects of the media and entertainment sector with workshops on colour correction with DaVinci Resolve, stop motion animation, Adobe Spark Post, writing for the podcast, media start-up, acting, fashion styling, among others.
