  • Revisit the Notes and Revise: Candidates must have prepared small notes for each topic they have studied. The last week is the time to revisit the notes and quickly revise them. Candidates must make a schedule for the last week of preparation, wherein they should dedicate the first 3-4 days to solving sample papers and at the same time note the time taken to solve them. The rest days should be dedicated to revision and learning to manage time.
  • Attempt Mock Tests: Practice at least one IPMAT mock test in the last week before the exam keeping in mind the sectional and overall timings of the IPMAT exam. This will help you boost your confidence and at the same time prepare you for the exam day. However, do not base your preparation completely on the mock test. Note the areas and questions where you have not scored well and practice them separately. This will also give you an idea of what not to do in the exam. The level of the IPMAT question paper is moderate. Hence, do not stress if you do not score well on the IPMAT mock test. Solving mock tests and sample papers will only add value to the preparation. Analyse the mock tests and improve accordingly.
  • Focus on Time Management: IPMAT is conducted for 90 minutes. It is essential to focus on time management as candidates must focus on solving the question paper within the time limit as they will not be given extra time to solve the question. Also, there is a negative marking in the IPMAT question paper, hence it is important for the candidates to solve the questions carefully. Therefore, candidates must focus on solving the question paper in the given time during the last week of preparation for IPMAT.
  • Do Not Start a New Topic: Do not start a new topic a week before the IPMAT exam. Starting a new topic a week before will only take a big chunk of the candidates’ precious time and it may lead them to be ill-prepared and confused about the topic.
  • Go Through Previous Years’ IPMAT Question Papers: Candidates must spend one to two hours analyzing the previous years’ IPMAT question papers to know which topics are usually asked in the exam and which are the important ones. Solving the previous years’ question papers will not only acquaint the candidates with the kind of topics but also help them improve their speed and help in understanding the difficulty level of questions. The exam pattern of the IPMAT question paper usually remains the same. There are 100 questions in carrying four marks each. There are also a few short-answer-type questions.
  • Prepare for Exam Day: Make an exam day strategy well in advance. Have a good eight-hour sleep before the exam and have a good breakfast. No amount of preparation is enough if you are stressed or sleepy or tired on exam day. Do not take any stress and be confident. Candidates are suggested to gather all the necessary documents such as IPMAT admit card, ID proof, etc. which will be required on the exam day.
  • Relax: The last week of IPMAT preparation is all about being confident and relaxed. Candidates put in a lot of effort in preparing for the exam, so they should not let stress and worry ruin that. Eat healthy food and try to avoid junk. Indulge in activities that will help you clear your mind and take your mind off the stress about your performance in the exam.

A:

On the day of the IPMAT exam, it is essential to be well-prepared and avoid certain mistakes or "don'ts" to ensure a smooth experience. Here are some important "don'ts" to keep in mind:

  1. Do not reach late to the exam centre. Ensure that you reach the exam center well before the scheduled reporting time. Try to reach at least an hour before the exam begins. Arriving late may lead to disqualification or not being allowed to enter the exam hall.

  2. Don't forget the IPMAT admit card. Make sure to carry a printout of your IPMAT admit card/hall ticket to the exam center. Without the admit card, you may not be allowed to appear for the exam.

  3. Don't carry prohibited items such as electronic devices (mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches), study material, notes, bags, or any other items that are not allowed as per the exam guidelines.

  4. Don't panic. Maintain a calm and composed mindset throughout the exam day. Panicking or getting overly stressed can affect your performance.

  5. Don't engage in malpractice and refrain from any form of malpractice or cheating. Any form of unfair means can result in disqualification and strict consequences.

  6. Don't ignore exam instructions. Listen carefully to the exam invigilator's instructions before starting the exam.

  7. Don't leave early after completing the exam. Review your answers and ensure you haven't left any questions unanswered or marked incorrectly. Revise the answers before submitting your answer sheet.

By avoiding these "don'ts" and adhering to the exam rules and guidelines, you can have a better exam experience and maximize your chances of performing well in the IPMAT exam.

Q:   What all items can I carry to the IPMAT exam centre?

A:

Every candidate must carry a simple blue/black ball point pen and a two copies of their passport size photo to the IPMAT exam centre. They must not carry any stationary item other than the pen.
