IPMAT exam date 2025 was announced by the IPMAT exam conducting authority, Indian Institute of Management, Indore. IPMAT 2025 will be conducted on May 12, 2025. The IPMAT exam is conducted for admission to the prestigious IIM Indore only but is accepted by various other institutes as well. It is a management exam conducted in Computer-Based Test mode. IPMAT cutoff is also announced by IIM Indore and a consolidated IPMAT exam cutoff list is released by the institute. Candidates who qualify the IPMAT exam by matching the cutoff criteria are called for the further selection process which includes in-person Personal Interviews. The IIM Indore IPMAT counselling schedule is announced soon and shared with the eligible candidates on their registered email ID.

IIM Rohtak conducts a similar exam, IPMAT Rohtak. The IPMAT Rohtak exam dates 2025 will be announced in the third week of January 2025, tentatively. The students who wish to appear for the IPMAT Rohtak exam 2025 can expect the registration to begin in the first week of February 2025.

Q:   What is the exam pattern of IPMAT?

A:

IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Indore, for admission to integrated MBA programme offered by the institute. The exam pattern for IPMAT is as follows: 

Section 1: Verbal Ability: This section tests the candidate's English language skills. It consists of 50 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, etc.

Section 2: Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidate's quantitative skills. It consists of 25 MCQs and the second part of this section carries 25 short answer type questions. The section tests the candidate's knowledge of topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra Geometry, Trigonometry etc. 

For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded four marks each and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the overall score. This means, if the candidate has got ten correct answers, then, he/she will be awarded 40 marks in the total score. The IPMAT question paper has sectional timing of 40 minutes per section which the students must adhere to.

Q:   When will the IPMAT be conducted?

A:

IIM Indore will announce the IPMAT dates and schedule. The IPMAT 2025 exam will be conducted on May 12, 2025. The registrations for IPMAT 2025 will likely begin in the second week of February 2025. The registration window will likley be open for a month approximately and will close in the month of March 2025. The IPMAT admission process is completely online and the schedule will also be announced online on the official website. The IPMAT 2025 exam will be conducted in one shift only (afternoon shift) like every year. The schedule along with the exam timings and duration will be announced soon by IIM Indore in a detailed notification for the IPMAT exam.

Q:   Can I write IPMAT exam after 12th?

A:

The eligibility criteria for IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) may vary slightly each year. However, based on the general eligibility criteria, the following criteria are typically applicable:

  1. Age Limit: Applicants belonging to the General or NC OBC category must not be more than 20 years of age as of July 31, 2025, at the time of filling the IPMAT application form 2025. The age should not be more than 22 years as of July 31, 2025, for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, PwD (DA) categories. Candidates belonging to the Foreign Nationals category must have been born on or after August 1, 2005. 

  2. Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination from arecognisedboard or institution. The qualifying examination should be completed in the year of the IPMAT exam or in the preceding two years.

  3. Minimum Percentage: General and Non-Creamy Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC) category candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Class 10 and Class 12 standard examinations. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories, a minimum of 55% aggregate marks is required.

Q:   Is there an age limit in the IPMAT exam?

A:

Yes, there is maximum age limit to appear for the IPMAT exam. The students appearing for the IPMAT exam must be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2024. The IPMAT exam is open to students who have recently passed Class 12 or are still awating the Class 12 results. IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore and is accepted by some of the top institutes such as IIM Indore, IIFT, Nirma University, IIM Ranchi, Alliance University, NICMAR and NALSAR University. Any candidate who has scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10/SSC and Class 12/ HSC or equivalent examination in the case of the General and NC-OBC categories is eligible to apply for the IPMAT exam.

  • IPMAT 2025 registration date: IPMAT registration is an online process. The IPMAT exam schedule will be released online and registration for the IPMAT 2025 exam will likely begin in the second week of February 2025. The IPMAT Indore application form will be available online only.
  • IPMAT application fee payment: The candidates will be able to pay the IPMAT application fee online using their credit card, debit card or internet banking. They can also use UPI or other banking wallets to pay the application fee. 
  • IPMAT 2025 form correction: Candidates who successfully fill out the application form and pay the application fee have the option of making corrections in the IPMAT application form if in case there is an error.
  • IPMAT admit card release: IPMAT 2025 admit cards will be issued to candidates who complete the IPMAT application process. The admit cards will be available online and can be downloaded till the exam day. 
  • IPMAT 2025 exam date: IPMAT 2025 will be conducted in the computer-based test mode. The exam will be conducted on May 12, 2025, at different exam centres across the country.
  • IPMAT result date: IPMAT result will likely be announced in the first week of June 2025. The result cum scorecard will be available online and the test takers will be able to check their IPMAT results using their login credentials.

IPMAT Study Plan for Verbal Ability - 

  • Enhance the quality of your English language, and study three new words every day. 
  • To improve your vocabulary and grammar, be sure to read the newspaper for at least 45 minutes daily. 
  • Start your preparation by allotting a specific amount of time to each topic and finishing them all on time. 
  • Additionally, frequently practise as many questions from last year's papers. 

IPMAT Study Plan for Logical Reasoning - 

  • Prepare in advance. 
  • Make sure to allot at least 1-2 hours for the logical reasoning section if you're taking the IPM Rohtak exam.

The medium of IPMAT question paper is English. The structure of the IPMAT exam has not changed from the past few years. The latest IPMAT question paper structure is as follows:

  • The IPMAT exam will be conducted in the computer-based test. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours).
  • The exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Short-Form Questions carrying four marks each.
  • The questions are from two different sections, namely Verbal Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. The QA section is divided into two parts.
  • There is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer. The total marks for the exam are 100.

No, IPMAT is conducted only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The IPMAT exam is being conducted in the CBT (computer-based test) mode. Based on the IPM Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to integrated management programme offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Managment, Indore. The exam will only be conducted in the computer-based test mode for all the sessions across various cities.
