IPMAT Rohtak exam pattern 2025: IPM Aptitude Test pattern depicts the important aspects of the IPMAT Rohtak question paper including the type of questions, marking scheme, sectional weightage and other details. The exam is conducted in the online mode. IPMAT Rohtak exam will be conducted in the third week of May 2025, tentatively, in computer-based test mode (CBT). Q:   How many sections are there in the IPM Rohtak entrance exam?

The IPM Rohtak entrance exam consists of multiple sections, including Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability. All the sections in the IPM Aptitude Test question paper carries multiple-choice questions. There are no subjective questions in the IPM AT exam. Each question carries four marks. One mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer. The students have to complete the exam within two hours or 120 minutes. Given below is the number of questions in each section:

Q:   What is the IPM Aptitude Test exam pattern?

A:

IPM AT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, for admission to integrated MBA programme offered by the institute. The exam pattern for IPM AT is as follows: 

Section 1: Verbal Ability: This section tests the candidate's English language skills. It consists of 40 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, etc.

Section 2: Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidate's quantitative skills. It consists of 40 MCQs too. The section tests the candidate's knowledge of topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra Geometry, Trigonometry etc. 

Section 3: Logical Reasoning: This section tests the candidate's critical reasoning and logical aptitude. This section too, like the previous section, includes 40 MCQs and important topics under this section are Blood Relations, Visual Puzzles, Syllogisms, Arguments, etc. 

For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded four marks each and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the overall score. This means, if the candidate has got ten correct answers, then, he/she will be awarded 40 marks in the total score. The IPM AT question paper has sectional timing of 40 minutes per section which the students must adhere to.

Q:   Is IPMAT IIM Indore better than IIM Rohtak's IPMAT?

A:

IPMAT and IPM Aptitude Test (IIM Rohtak) have similar syllabus but the difficulty level is different. Both exams have Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability sections. However, IIM Rohtak's IPMAT exam has an additional section- Logical Reasoning. While IPM Aptitude Test is an easy exam, IIM Indore's IPMAT is moderately tough but to say which is better totally depends upon the college a candidate is targeting for the five-year integrated programme. The participating colleges for both exams are different. If a candidate's dream college accepts IPMAT score, then they should appear for IPMAT exam. The IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore is accepted by other institutes such as IIFT, IIM Ranchi, Nirma University,  Alliance University,  NICMAR University,  Department of Management Studies and NALSAR University of Law. The benefit of IPMAT by IIM Indore is that the exam is accepted by multiple top management insitutes in country, whereas the one conducted by IIM Rohtak is only accepted by IIM Rohtak.

Yes, the IPM AT exam has negative markings. Each question in the IPM Aptitude Test carries four marks. And for every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted. This means that if the candidate has five correct answers then 20 marks will be added to the IPM AT overall score. If the candidate marks more than one answer for a particular question, the answer will be considered incorrect. To avoid maximum marks deduction, candidates must attempt the easier question first and then move on to the more difficult ones in that particular section. If the candidate is unsure about a particular question, they can also skip the question. No marks will be deducted or awarded for unanswered questions.

IPMAT IIM Rohtak Exam Pattern: Key Points

Students must keep the following points in mind about the IPMAT Rohtak 2025 exam pattern:

  • IIM Rohtak's IPMAT is a computer-based entrance test. Hence, students are not required to carry any stationery such as pens, pencils, etc. to the exam centre.
  • Applicants will be given a blank sheet for the rough work for calculations.
  • Applicants are not allowed breaks during the exam. 
  • Candidates must not carry any electronic gadget to the exam centre and must not indulge in malpractice of any kind. If caught, they will be disbarred from the exam. 
  • One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer hence candidates must carefully mark the answers in the IPMAT Rohtak question paper.

A:

The IPM Aptitude Test exam is conducted for two hours or 120 minutes. The exam is conducted every year in the computer-based test mode. There are three sections in the IPMAT question paper, i. e. Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Each section is to be solved within 40 minutes. Since IPM Aptitude Test is a centre-based online exam the test screen will move from first section to the next section automatically as soon as the time limit gets over.
